Musicians are better trained and practiced now than they were in the 1930s and 40s. Swing music is produced in a more professional manner in 2009.

I hear alot of swing bands nowadays and even though they have all this great training like you say, lot's of them still sound like shit, modern day swing orchestras cannot come close to reproducing the sounds of the 30's and 40's. havelka is the first for me, their awesome!!!
