I'm geting Drunk tommorrow sometime (either in the a.m. or the p.m.)to get in the "right" mood to want to hear this insane stuff. Two days later,i'll go to one of my two brother's houses, then either smoke some medicinal mary jane, and or eat 1 or more of that kind of candy
This sounds pretty fake... I recognize some of those sounds/recordings/voices. Where John says "...the corner...", that's actually taken from a recording from Yoko Ono's recorder. Then you hear a small part of "Epstein Blues". I'd say it's a fake.
As "Revolution 9"appears on "The Beatles"a.k.a."The white album",i think it should have been edited and/or mixed so that it would have ended up at least 9 minutes length,so that it Really would have been worthy of its title!
Nice job ~ but absolutely a fake. No need to access "the master tapes" - and Purple Chick has made it easier than ever. "Look after yourselves", etc., from the "Gone Tomorrow, Here Today" tape; "What About Brian Epstein" from Yellow Dog's "Control Room Monitor Mixes" - everything here is available elsewhere.
Again, though - very enjoyable!
(And the new HMC ("Take Your Knickers Off") is most certainly NOT a fake!)
Reading Lewisohn, Revolution Take 20 (no #), from 6/4/08 is real and the missing link. It was extended version of what we know as R#1, with some R#9 effects to stretch it over 10 min. On 6/20, extra effects were mastered. On 6/21, Take 20 split - front half became R#1 with horn overdubs, back half was combined with effects from 6/20 and became R#9, with 2 mixes done. On 6/25 mix 2 was mastered, and cut from 9:05 to 8:12. This alt mix sounds real, it runs 8:12, wonder if it should be 9:05?
@925apte This one sounds to me like someone took "Revolution 9" and added stuff to it as an overdub replete with new fades. I have what I suppose is the actual alternate mix and, although most of the added stuff on THIS version is on the other one, the other one actually sounds more like someone actually pieced it together from scratch, as if it actrually was the alternate mix that The Beatles did.
This sounds like music/voices were mixed in from other sources-Anthology White album medley for example. I hear Ringo & Paul voices which most books state that John, Yoko, George & Mal Evans were involved. They also mixed in bits from the mono acetate which is more noticible at the end.
is this genuine? i'm guessing by the images that it's part of / inspired by the Stephen Moles Coma ARG on Facebook, but that doesn't clear anything up. is this from the same source as Revolution 1 Take 20? anyone know?

Basically the differences are where the sounds are in the song...plus additional voices that are drowned out in the lp version

This version is comprised more of words and sounds and not as 'musical' as the popular mix.
It's most likely fakery, but I agree that it's an interesting listen, nonetheless. ~

the differences are very subtle. sounds like whoever made this had access to the master tapes, whether that was John or not.
