The U.S. Department of Justice has handed down an indictment against a former CDC scientist who led research studies that claimed to disprove any link between vaccines and autism.According to government documents, Dr. Poul Thorsen, one of the key researchers in "disproving" any link between vaccines and autism, allegedly defrauded the scientific research community of over one million dollars. research is showing that areas with high fluoride in the water have incidents of Autism up to 300% higher than other areas. Fluoride (international research by internal medicine doctors, not 'tooth doctors' aka dentists) are showing it causes more problems then helps....
You have a beautiful daughter. My personal theory on the vaccines-cause-autism theory is that it is simply counter productive as it has simply reopened old controversies. True autism awareness is getting the services that autistic individuals require and accepting them for who they are. If an autistic is to be cured, it should not be done out of the parents' will. Doctor Temple Grandin said that if she could press a button that would make her neurotypical, she would not press it.
Paul Offit created yet another vaccine in which we inject more toxins into kids. He may be just a little biased considering he is making millions. Of course he will try to cover it up. Proof is hearing story after story of moms saying their children were developing normally until right after their shots. Moms know.
I am autistic and I believe that Doctor Offit is a greater threat to autistic individuals than Jenny McCarthy. At least he is not an idiot trying to regain publicity. I do not belive that it was vaccines as my brother recieved the same vaccines as I did at the same age and my mother knew that there was something wrong with me before I even started walking. The vaccines-cause-autism theory has simply reopened old controversies. I am autistic and I do not care about vaccines.
@aspie101 i've read Dr. offit's book about autism and vaccines (autism's false prophets). and to be honest i was shocked by all the fuss that was made about vaccines. they have wasted so much money on it instead of investing it on research and therapy to help those kids that are already diagnosed. before reading the book, i was a huge fighter against vaccines and those who underestimate its effects only to realize that wasn't the battle worth fighting.
@Blushie753 The vaccine controversy is simply counter-productive because it does divert attention to effective therapies such as PEC, Tactile, and other effective alternatives to ABA and pharmacudical drugs that have serious side effects. No medicine is without side effects and the vaccine controversy caught on because vaccines were already controversial to begin with. However, I do consider people like Dr. Offit to be far more dangerous that Jenny McCarthy or Andrew Wakefield.
@Blushie753 Because people like Dr. Offit are not idiots like McCarthy and because the genetic research will eventually lead to abortions like it did with Down's children. The problem is that society is intolerant to difference, just look at the terminology that is used when refering to the "disabled": "victim, sufferer, suffers from," etc.
@aspie101 its those children that need us the most to help bring out their potential. thumbs up to you.. i wish all the parents could understand that and be rational instead of emotional about the subject.
@Blushie753 The problem is that children are seen as property. By that, I mean that parents believe that they can pick and choose their children. Prenatal screening for down syndome and autism along with negative stereotypes have led many parents to terminate their unborn children because they want "normal children." If this trend continues, it will be mudane traits such as hair or eye color.
@tallmabell Anecdotal evidence is the lowest scientific evidence. Bear in mind that many autistic children regress prior to their first vaccination. While I am skeptical about people like Paul Offit, I am also skeptical about quacks like Wakefield and Handley.
Vaccines do not cause autism. Read AUTISM'S FALSE PROPHETS: bad science, risky medicine and the search for a cure, by Dr. Paul Offit. Google the title for more info. Check out the NY Times article in the results titled BOOK IS RALLYING RESISTANCE TO THE ANTIVACCINE CRUSADE.
The cause is vaccines. They will tell you anything and everything to keep you from believing this. Take your child to a chiropractor, a doctor that is not bound by the dirty medical system to allow this to keep happening to babies. Dr. Andrew Moulden and Mary Tocco would be a good place to start. Bless your child.
I can quickly dismiss this claim because I've only had my cell phone for 2 1/2 years - got it when I had to start driving our daughter to all her therapies and Doctors apps. - and our daughter is almost 6 now, so this theory is squashed, but thank you for trying to figure out what has caused this disability...I believe in the future someone just like you will find the reason and prevent it from happening to other children.
The cell phone radiation theory is like so many theories being made into mountains out of molehills. I would encourage you to not look at your daughter as if she was taken, but see her for what she is: a beautiful girl with unbridaled potential that just needs external support to reach it.
Thanks for making this. Reminds me so much of my own daughter as well. Beautiful eyes, wonderful expressions, Dora lover, trampoline bouncer, full of life and fun. Great job. Great little lady you have I am certain. :)
