Your paraphrase of this scripture is based upon the misinterpretation of this scripture which takes out of context what is being said. Jesus asked His disciples who they believed He was.

the bible as you is not taken very literally by most catholics for a number of logical and scientific reasons
the point overall tho is we interpret that christ left a vicor on earth being peter and he passed his responsibilities down through the ages. Being Roman Catholic, your understanding of scripture cannot go against Catholic dogma, that has already been defined by the Magesterium of the church, Tradition and Scripture, as is stated in the Roman Catholic Catechism.
Scripture however, is clearly not given as great a regard as the Magesterium or Tradition.

For example. Scripture says: 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Catholic dogma is that Mary is co-mediator and we go through Mary to Christ.

The Lord Jesus obviously means that we should not call any man father in a religious sense of the word because only God the Father should have this title. It has nothing to do with calling your parent father because that is literally what your male parent is.
These are just 2 examples where scripture is thrown aside. There are many others.

Relics like the bones of saints and praying before them is not Biblical, neither is worshiping before statues, praying to the dead for their intercession on your behalf, worshiping before a man (like the Pope), neither is veneration of the dead.

@Raizo1988 Popes, bishops, cardinals and priests are not above scripture and neither are their works. Many of these throughout history have been wrong in what they say and do.
The 10 commandments have been changed and shortened in the Roman Cathoilc Catechism. A clear commandment of God from the 10 commandments that the Roman Catholic church has rejected in it's Catechism is the 2nd commandment. This is the 2nd commandment....

The 4th commandment is to REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY.

When Paul said this, the only Scripture available was the Old Testament and so would have been what he was referring to, but now it also includes the New Testament.

I recommend you find time to read "True Devotion to Mary" by Saint Louis De Monfort. It is a wonderful book which will show you that devotion to Mary is not worshipping anyone other than God, and how it does not subtract from God. You may be able to find some of the texts of this book by searching online.

The Protestant Reformation started in 1521 at the Diet of Worms were the Lutherans started as the first SECT. Luther was NOT excommunicated until 1520 by the Pope, or Bishop of Rome, during his time. The other reformers did revolt against the Pope like Luther did but it is important to remember also that the other reformers also REVOLTED against Luther and his SECT(lutherans) so that they could validate their SECT as the quote on quote "brand new one true church".

Luther was raised by the Nobles, b/c they saw him as a way to separate from the Church. Also Luther was NO better than the Church during the Peasants Revolt 1524-1525 where told encouraged the Nobles to kill the Peasants and that they deserved it, when they were his first supporters when he was a Catholic priest. Over 100,000 Peasants were killed and his Protestant SECT grew with the killers and their support.

Not true. Hardly any protestant churches left except in name. Check their statement of beliefs on their website, and see them talk about the ecumenical movement, and the universal church (catholic = universal). Listen to their creed, where they state belief in the "one holy apostolic church". See their catholic communion wafers. See their KJV done away with, and the use of corrupt revised versions founded on catholic texts.
