  • I love how Boris got the job and has actually, being fair to the man, done a pretty good job

  • Lol I love the childishness of the phrase "they are bad in different ways"

  • Sounds as though the moderator is a complete hack who favors one of the other two and isn't shy about admitting it. Nice "journalism"

  • @RuflessRecords I think paxman has a problem with how confrontational he is but most people just hate politicians on principle and just like to see Paxman sticking it to them no matter the reason. If a third party candidate stands almost by definition he does not want one of the 2 front runners to win. No one would reasonably expect him to choose publically. I would rather watch a different moderator.

  • @RuflessRecords Dude Thats Paxman you're talking about

    Don't dis the paxman

  • LOL do you think they're equally attractive. A Freudian Slip?

  • @GeorgeGrimz Sorry to burst your bubble but he said attractable.

  • HAHAHAHa!!!

  • This is a classic example of what the liberal democrats stand for, nothing.

  • I voted for Bozza but Paddick was my second preference... as for Livingstone ; the geezer is a cunt.

  • Imagine Mcenroe vs. Paxman :).

  • Lol He said you cant be seriouse, when I first heard that I thought he was calling him a cock lol

  • 0:22-0:24: LOL! Jeremy Paxman quoted John McEnroe, eh? Thanks for uploading! Greetings from the United States of America!

  • Actually, Mac would say You cannot be f*****g serious!

  • Maybe so.

  • Then again, if Paxman said f*****g serious, that would LIVEN up the debate!

  • Let's not forget that Paxman is a personal friend of Boris's.

  • He votes Labour, though.

  • I have seen him interviewed where he declares that he has voted for all the main political parties.

  • that could be a great joke: A yorkshireman, a buffoon and two london mayoral election candidates walk into a BBC studio...

  • Purely hypothetically, there is no serious alternative - for the love of sanity Paddick would have to vote for Ken. Boris might well be a funny character that many people warm to etc etc but as London Major, reality morphs into a fantasy akin to electing Sooty as PM.

  • Puppets getting elected into an executive position isn't as far fetched as you would have us believe, but directly electing a Primeminister? you must be stark raving mad!!

  • @tellyisrubbish

    Sooty for prime minister?

Hot damn im gonna print out some posters, meet me in westminster, we can pull this one off!

  • In the words of Paxman.

    you can't be serious.

  • Hmmm, isn't Paxman meant to be impartial?

  • Yes, but he's also supposed to point out BS.

  • He is impartial, but it's always the role of the presenter to present the alternative view.

  • Argh..can't stand that cockney accent. "Oi fink they are baaaad in different wais"

  • hardly cockney

  • I don't know, they're all the same down there anyway. Whatever you may call that accent, it's a pain in the arse to listen to.

  • haha east midlands all the way right, i'd say our accents aren't the best either though lol

  • its not cockney

  • Its just a joke, sorry.

  • What a weak candidate Paddick was! A completely gutless fool who had no clue about being a politician. Almost as bad a candidate as Boris!

  • who was paxman actually supporting??

  • The idea is to be impartial, he isn't paid to support anyone. Paxman treats this as an opportunity to be horrible to everyone, and man is he good at it!

  • Though clearly nobody disapproves of his blatant partiality (at least in this case) as he still has the job, so in essence, he is being paid to be so :P

  • Livingstone.

  • "Equally attractive or what ?!" oops, dont ask BRIAN that, its NOT 'Blind date' ha ha ha

  • so who is paxman actually supporting? ken or borris?

  • Paxman makes everything about him.

  • id shag paxman any bleedin day

  • Eww...

  • equally attractive LMFAO

  • Ha ha that was quite funny!

  • LMAO!!!

  • I agree with below, Boris has won now, so obviously he had something going for him.. be that good mayoral skills or otherwise remains to be seen of course.

  • I think what he had going for him was a large chunk of 'familiarity breeds contempt', which is what the Labour Party in general is getting right now. For true incompetence one would have to look at the Tory Government before Labour (and, fair enough, the Labour Party in the days of the militant tendency, Hatton et al).

  • Hatton actually talked a lot of sense v principled etc & saw the true "capitalist revolution" ought to be fought, as did the ever correct Scargill & Tony Benn if only we'd listened...

Boris got in on a protest vote, Ken will be back, thank God!

  • Tony Benn is a champagne socialist who preaches one doctrine of socialism but lives like a capitalist with his country estate, Notting Hill mansion and his multi million pound fortune. Arthur Scargill is a communist lunatic who held the country to ransom so he could promulgate his Marxist agenda to make everybody poor underneath him as the ruler. Boris Johnson is honest, witty, exceptionally intelligent, and despite minor hiccups in his administration, has done well thus far.

  • You can actually notice that 'Livingston, because Brosi is a clown' was on the tip of his tongue, but I don't hypothetical questions ever get answered.

  • 'equally attractive'...

  • haha....doesn't matter now...Boris got the job...all aboard the fun times ahead! :P

  • Its a very easy choice Ken for the win

  • Paddick doesn't come across badly there. Both of the others are cunts. The thing is, Boris is a bigger one (racism is 'natural', the Lawrence inquiry was 'Orwellesque') and despite his many flaws London has got better over the past eight years.

  • So are you trying to imply someone who was born in the USA, has a Turkish grandad and has a half-Indian wife is a racist?

  • And are you, William Donloe, trying to imply that "flag-waving peccaninnes" breaking out in "watermelon smiles" is a spot on and not at all derogatory description for black Africans?!

Blurting things out without thinking BEFORE might be OK for a street entertainer or a village fool to keep the attention on, but I am not at all sure it is a good habit for a Mayor of London. Still, good luck to him! Hope he has the balls to make perhaps unpopular but worthy decisions, like Livingston did.

  • No I'm not, you're absolutely right - he blurts things out without thinking about it, but this doesn't make him a racist (or intentional racist, depending on how you define racism). I wasn't just being rhetorical though, IanM1984 may have just been calling him a fool not a racist which I accept. Also I believe it's 'piccaninnies' but you're not to blame since it's not a commonly used word (and rightly so).

  • Paddick is a dickhead.

    needs to lighten up.

  • Paxman was right. Padick showed himself up for being insencire and lost votes due to this ridiculous lack of character.

  • Well, they ARE bad in different ways. Boris would just be MORE of a disaster than Ken. I certainly can't choose between the two of them, and don't see why any of the three should be forced to give a preference at all! It doesn't bloody matter!

  • Boris would be more of a disaster than Ken in the same way that the Sun is bigger than my toes.

  • Nah, Cameron will never give him as long a leash as the Labour government's given Ken... and if Boris fucks up, it'll just be handed over to a safety net of Conservative aides and advisors. Worst case scenario: Boris is embarassed and the Conservative party loses a lot of integrity nationwide. Is that a bad thing?

  • @ciphergoth What?! This is PERFECT for boris! Somewhere in the public light to entertain us, with no real power so he cant do any harm!

  • @halimondore how would ken be better than boris? ken is man of bribes, he can be swayed by money, he does the job for money and everything in his life is done for him to earn more money.

  • @halimondore Sorry, especially as a young Australian replying to a comment made 3 years ago...but from what I can tell, as mayor of London Ken Livingstone managed to anger many by introducing greater and more varied manners of paying tax and flawed congestion systems, while Boris Johnson, despite his demeanor, managed to put forward intelligent ideas such as disallowing alcohol on public transport and moving to lower the reliance on 'bendy-buses'. Nevertheless, I agree with your statement.

  • @CeltiaWindsinger Its true, but us Brits go mad for a pisshead in a wig, hence Boris i s the man ;)

  • @halimondore ken made mistakes, boris in power was a mistake

  • @SupernaturalDR Yeah, you're right about Ken making mistakes. Jetting off on a taxpayer funded trip to Venezuela to meet with their dictator, Hugo Chavez, to discuss oil whilst sipping champagne was one of the mistakes.

  • "I think they are bad in different ways."

Brian's is getting more aggressive now.
