  • wait, debbie reynolds and tab used to date? like were they serious or just friends? cuz i heard tab was gay.

  • What was going through Tab's mind at 0:40? I think it was "SURE WISH THIS WAS TONY PERKINS."

  • How beautiful <3 This is music

  • I want to meet Tab, he's my idol! Ever since my father had a magazine with a picture of him on the cover when I was about 5, later on when I was a teen I googled him and found out not only is he still alive and well but is gay like me. OMG I think hes amazing, intelligent, handsome, sophisticated and unlike many other celebrities he wasn't drawn into alcohol and drugs etc. xx Tab

  • Replace the word Love with Minge on any song and have hours of fun. Sounds a bit wrong on this corker.

  • Absolutely Love Tab Hunter He Was Sooooo Handsome Back In His Day As Were Almost All Leading Men*;). Unlike Now N'Days They Are All So Ridiculous,&Probably Spend More Time On There Looks Than The Average Female*>.<

  • I've always been in love with Tab. He is my true dream boat!!! I sure would like to make love with him.

  • Apparently Hunter was gay or at least experimented with homosexuality, he had an affair with Anthony(Tony) Perkins. AKA Norman Bates. I had to idea that Perkins was gay! I still love him though and think he is a great actor even before he did Psycho in 1960, but unfortunately he was typed cast after that unforgettable performance. I wish movies and music was made like it use to, i am very young and was able to witness the true talent during the 1930s-1970s:( I am jealous of older people:)

  • @LT10megan

Why Must It Be That Every Handsome Man Must Be Gay Or At Least "Believed" To Be Gay..Smh Hopefully He Wasn't!

  • @MrsRonaldo713 to torture women, its like taking a kid to candy store and saying they cant have it

  • @LT10megan

Lol Your Comment Made Me Laugh So Hard ,Thats True.*XD

  • @MrsRonaldo713 he is and whats wrong with that theirs nothing wrong with being gay!

  • The notable thing about Tab was that, contrary to his very packaged dreamboat image, he was always a very intelligent, very perceptive, very sharp guy with a wide variety of interests. In the early 1950s he was Debbie Reynolds' regular Saturday Night date because they both were very bright, very quick, very fun people and henceforth sympatico. Tab used his fame and his wealth wisely and has lived a beautiful life.

  • @waynebrasler Thanks for the info. Clearly not just another Pat-Boone-a-like.

  • @SirBasildeBrush too bad he was gay

  • @waynebrasler Was he gay? Debbie Reynolds was minimally bisexual.

He was a coming actor in the mid-1950's, then he disappeared.

I guess Troy Donahue took his roles.

  • @fntime he was gay I don't know about now maybe he still is

but he was gay he used to go out with men secretly from the media that time

  • Warner Brothers Records got off to a shaky start, with a very odd assortment of artists including Wee Bonnie Baker of "Oh Johnny" fame from decades before. The label stumbled in its early packaging of Connie Stevens (her first album was titled "Concetta!," which meant nothing to nobody, and Joannie Sommers (whose first album "Positively the Most" was named after her original name, Joannie Drost). The label later found its feet more or less.

  • @waynebrasler Thanks for the info. They found gold with the Everly Brothers.

  • those were the days when none of us had any wrinkles . now i know what a prune feels like .

  • Had favorited and stored in my files... thanks so much for uploading... despite its not his original version, it still sounds lovely. Clicked "like" for 42 pts.

  • @felixbautista Thanks for that 42nd.

  • I love Tab Hunter's songs. He has such a great voice. Could you post his song - Our Love - This was a song from 1959 that did not make the music chart - It is such a beautiful song that I have on a 45. The flip side was - Waitin' For Fall. Thank you for posting this song - Young Love. I really like it alot.

  • Sir(s): "Hi, Tiger."

  • Sir(s): If I may, from BLAKE, "The Tiger," In Poems from the Notebook, 1791-1792, namely, "When the stars threw down their spears, And watered Heaven with their tears, Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the lamb make thee? Tiger, tiger, burning bright In the forests of the night, What immortal hand and eye Dare frame thy fearful symmetry." --Referenced by "Young Lover" J.D., SATX 78202 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (=U. S. A.)

  • @torstvillinger thanks...interesting.

  • Such a melodic voice, I only recently discovered him, he is absolutely gorgeous and reminds me of Reichen Lehmkul when he was younger.

  • The original by Sonny James was an instant classic. Tab's cover brought another layer to the song, of smoldering sex and longing. He was an excellent singer, as his many albums demonstrated, but his fame as an actor overpowered his fame as a singer. Everybody and his (or her) brother recorded this song following Tab having hit with. Most notable are Lesley Gore's dynamic Mercury single and Mary Hopkin's charming outing on her album "Postcard."

  • @waynebrasler Thanks for the info. This song has an interesting history.

  • @waynebrasler The reason his singing career stopped was when Warner Bros heard his songs on the radio they told him you can't record on Dot records, you are under contract to us. The only problem was the WB label was just starting out and didn't have good people in the A&R department and the magic was gone and the hits stopped coming.

  • tab hunter was not a singer.he was a man chunk for girls.shelly fabres was a little cutie and the exec's made them perform on records.it's how things worked in the 40's-60's.both did ok with it but it was not their best quality

  • thanks for sharing....

    erik tielman, florida

  • cute guy!

  • Fine Song!

    Thanks for posting!

    Aloha from Hawaii!

  • @Rudipolt Aloha!

  • hummmm

  • The original is Sonny James or Tab Hunter?

  • @carlett001 is Tab's but I like the version of Donny Osmond too

he sang it while I was young but Tab's version is the best

  • @carlett001

The original recording of "Young Love" was by

    Sonny James, a country singer.

  • The original is Sonny James or Tab Hunter?

  • The original is Sonny James or Tab Hunter?

  • Doesn't he sound a lot like Ricky Nelson??? I used to dance to this in high school. I graduated in 1961 and will be 67 this year but I still get the warm fuzzys everytime I hear this song!!! He was a great singer and I wish I would have looked like that back then handsome beefcake that he was!!! TenStarsplus !!!!!!

  • Thanks for the comment and those stars !

  • @BigDuckKetterer I also graduated in 1961, and I feel the same as you. Where has the time gone. SIGH!!!!

  • @BigDuckKetterer this guy should not be mentioned in the same sentence with rick nelson.rick was the real deal.

  • @nomiclas Not only was Tab Hunter better looking than Rick Nelson he could act.

  • Such A Great Song!!! Love This One! 5*s I Had Forgotten How Nice Looking Tab Hunter Was! Thankyou Basil...Anita..

  • I've always wondered why they never rhymed that obvious line "true" with "for you and for me.."! Lesley Gore didn't and neither did Mary Hopkin in their versions!! :-)

  • Defies belief!

  • Intonation good, nice little bit of vibrato every now and again, interpretation good--seems to me like he did pretty well. As well as Debbie Reynolds anyway. I bet ol' Tab didn't look the same in a strapless gown however.

  • ....me neither, although I hear LV37 looks a treat.

  • Hehe!

  • When he looks like THAT....who cares what he sounds like, I can't get past the PICTURES!!! Love the break, thanks Keith!!

  • If was difficult finding a picture of him with his shirt on! I'm guessing you're wishing that was you across his knee.

  • LOL....what the heck...SURE!! LOL!

    Talk about S C A N D A LLLLLL!!

  • wow what a great sound...what's with all the negative comments regarding his voice? "Let him that has never hit a flat note cast the first stone...I daren't reveal..."

    many thanks for posting mate!

    Evan Eastwood

  • Maybe as actor could be almost bravo; but as singer, oh my God, no!

  • Such a great classic teen song! Thanks Basil :-))

  • Can't sing so well. Career revamped by John Waters.

  • One for the gals, eh? Oh, for the wholesome days of the fifties when teen idols sang, displayed chest hair, sported striped swimsuits, and meted out spankings.
