@NailpolishMonster this is how i've removed rhinestones off my phone before- with a lot of patience, time and a skinny pair of tweezers. carefully using the tweezers, remove as much glue from around the rhinestone as you can, using a thin sewing needle to wedge under the rhinestone and the surface from what you're trying to remove, unfortunately because of the nature of the glue (being industrial strength) it's almost impossible to save the rhinestone and the surface may become scratched (con't)
@NailpolishMonster (con't) to be honest this video was made quite a few years ago- i have a new phone now and have not rhinestoned it, so i can't give any contemporary advice on how to remove them, good luck with your efforts, let me know if i can be of any more help to you <3 x
Can you change your video title? It's kind of misleading. How about "how to add a charm to a cell phone strap," because I was just expecting you to tell us how to make a cell phone strap out of scrap or something. Other than that, nice video. (:
@leticiascott the little straps i found in the findings section in a little pack of 10 for about $3, the bobbles i found in the bead section, this was over a year ago however, i'm not sure if they have the same specific stock, best of luck! <3
@arsj1996 hey i just took a look at the phone you're talking about (on google:), and it seems to me that it would work on that phone, you'd have to be careful not to glue the back together (leaving enough space in between the battery door cover and the actual phone should you ever need to change the battery),.... all in all- at the end of the day it's your best call since it is your phone, best of luck :)
@eienMMO you know i'm not quite sure, i purchased that little bobbley over a year ago, they may or may not have it still. it would be in the jewelry making section though, if you want to go on a hunt for it :D hope this helped, enjoy your weekend ! :) x
@lilxprincess215 yes, you could use that instead :) the nail art rhinestones and nail glue will be way more difficult to remove (possibly irremovable) should you decide that you want to take them off, but the rhinestone-y effect will be generally the same :D nail art rhinestones can be made from plastic sometimes (as opposed to regular rhinestones made from glass/ crystal) so they may not be as "bling bling" over time as the regular ones will... hope this helped :D
@mRsbaNaPaNcaKes i guess it depends on your personal preference. here i've glue them directly on my phone, given that my phone is really old and mostly useless (can't get a signal to save my life lol), i don't really care that i've glued them directly on the phone. if you have a nicer phone i would recommend getting a clear case and gluing them onto that inside of the phone itself. sure your phone would be thicker, but at least it wouldn't ruin the finish on the phone itself, hope this helped:)
if you use gemtac permanant glue and get it over the top of the swarovski crystal, how would i take it off the top because obviously the glue drys and turns clear but it will make the crystal look less sparkly. how would you reccomend i clean the top of the crystals without making them all fall off??
@sophielovesseezar well... here's what i would do if i were in a situation like yours: i have a careful hand so i would try not to get the glue over the tops of the rhinestones, when i've glued mine i only apply a *very* small amount on the back of the rhinestone to make it adhere, i don't typically get it over the top of the crystals.... also, i don't really "clean" the crystals? i'm a little confused by that i just glue em on carefully and that's that :)- hope this helped, sorry if it didnt:(
@TheButterfly2309 i bought the rhinestones i used in this tutorial at my local Joanne's Etc. craft store (when i still lived in michigan). they were in the same aisle with the fabric paints and embellishment stuffs- hope this helped ! :)
@XxCrystalHeartzxX yeah a toothpick would work just fine :) i like using a cuticle pusher because the tip is a little wider and i can get more glue on the end of it, but really any disposable applicator like that would work, i've even used disposable chopsticks before :) ps. thank you for the kind words :D x
@luvherroKitty hey! here's the best way i can answer your question: some cellphones have the hole for a cell phone strap and some do not, depending on the manufacturer. the phone pictured in my video is a very old LG Shine, which has a small hole on it for a cell phone hand strap or charm... i have noticed that most cell phone manufacturers nowadays have neglected to include this little hole in newer model phones. i hope this helped :)
@iblossom2likecrystal not very easily i'm afraid, i've only done it once (when i switched phones) and i lost quite a few rhinestones in the process, i used a pair of tweezers to gently remove the glue around the stone and then pulled it firmly from the surface. i wouldn't suggest this unless you wanted it to be permanent as sometimes the rhinestones will not come off unless they're broken first- i hope this helped, good luck with your projects! xx
I have one question... Does the E6000 glue dry clear? I tried to do some crafts with rhinestones but it seems as if I used TOO Much glue then it fogs up the rhinestone *sigh*
@izdatsweets the glue does indeed dry clear, but if too much is applied and coats the top of the rhinestone it will effect the clarity of the rhinestones, you are right. usually, i dab the glue on a piece of paper and only pick up what i need as i go, it's pretty strong glue so you only need to use it sparingly- hope this helps :)
thats pretty! E6000 glue is pretty awesome, but DO NOT USE IT WHILE IN AIR CONDITIONING! It will cure right in front of you, lmao. and another tip. when you do this again, if you get tooth picks, and that sticky tack that teachers use to hang posters up in their room, if you use that, and put it on the tip of your toothpick, it acts as a great thing to catch the stones!
@TheOfficialDivo28 those are *great* tips :D :D it's been forever since i've had air conditioning so i didn't even think of that! thanks so very much for sharing :) xx
@uiaralinda1 i use E-6000 glue which i found at my local michael's (craft store) in the glue section (with the modge podge, super glue and other stuff), it's an industrial strength glue and should be used in a well ventilated area under proper supervision etc. - hope this helped!
@lwrse12342 yeah i believe you can at michaels. i've found them in the t-shirt decorating section with the puffy paints, etc. if you can't find them i'm sure someone who works there would be able to point you in the right direction :) hope this helped <3
@hellookelly yeah they did around the camera hole, the bond isn't permanent so there is always a chance they can fall off. also, i drop my phone a lot which also contributes to rhinestones falling off, but they've never all fallen off all at once, just one by one and at that not very many :) i hope this helped xx
omg ive never seen that b4 what an awesome idea...super cute! I wanna decorate my phone now. :) Ill do my mom in laws too, i bet she will love it! thanks for posting this. :)
@daisylocust yeah, i looked up pictures online of what i kind of wanted the rhinestone pattern to look like and just magnified the picture so i could see better. it's kind of messy, and time consuming but so much fun :D
@sofiaalexandriaa haha! yeah i made this at the end of last summer and then kind of didn't look at it til about a month ago and was like "omg really? seriously? i should start making more videos!" lol
I have jewelry glue that I bought from joanns is that about the same thing your using. i purchased it to replace stones that fall out of jewelry so i am thinking it is the same stuff. Very cute
@iamcarolmiley thanks so much for your kind words! yeah i don't always use the same brand of glue, but i always use the same consistency. there is super glue that is like liquid (and really hard to deal with!) and then there are the glues that have more of a gel like consistancy which are my fav to use.
@CuteeLovezBeauty i guess it depends on how deep the scratches are, if it were me i'd leave a good thing alone, if the scratches aren't too deep don't mess with it, it could yield strange results in regards to the surface of the screen. I know polish will melt plastic (I used to decorate plastic hair clips with polish), so if you put clear polish over a plastic screen it would probably melt into it (to form the bond) and warp the clearness of the screen quite a bit, hope this helped <3
@littlemushroom169 i ordered them off ebay, go to ebay and keyword search for "sack stickers", it'll bring up a bunch of listings for sticker sacks which have the acrylic stone stickers, metallic stickers, etc. hope this helped :)
i wanna stick rhinestones on but i dont have the glue you use. so would it be okay if i used super glue? I'm not going to use a phone case just the phone itself. so would it harm my phone? thanks!
@cutiee7899 I've never used anything but the E-6000 jewelry glue for my rhinestone projects, so I wouldn't know how super glue would work. If you're reluctant to glue things permanently to your phone, perhaps looking for a phone case would be the best option for you. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :)
@BabyKakes4265 the glue is E-6000 industrial strength jewelry glue. I found it at Michael's (or check your local craft store) in the glue section (where the superglue/ tacky glue are found) hope this helps! :)
@amela12300 my best suggestion to you would be to purchase a clear cover for your phone an affix the rhinestones on that rather than the phone, the glue bonds more securely to plastic than it would metal so just to be safe, I'd rhinestone a cover instead of the phone itself. hope this helps... ps i would do a plastic phone review but I don't have a new phone, if I ever get a new phone i'll def do a video on how i transfer my rhinestones. thanks for asking :) sorry i can't be of more help ^_^
@amela12300 if your phone is plastic, then yes, the surface could get distorted (cosmetically in apperance), it wouldn't effect the function of the phone. My lg shine has a metal backing so it doesn't ruin the surface at all, its just a bit of a pain to get the rhinestones off if i want to switch up the pattern. i've actually just ordered multiple backings so i can design many back covers to switch out.
Hii um, where'd you get the rhinestones and glue? If I take off the rhinestones does that mean it's going to look icky afterwards? Oh and this would work for my itouch case too right? ^^ by the wayy I really liked the big stickers on the back of your phone, thanks :D
@kawaiiotaku7 I got the rhinestones & glue at my local craft store (Michael's or Joanne's). I found the glue, well, in the glue aisle:) I found the rhinestones in the DIY shirt decorating aisle with all the puffy paint, etc. Theres a good chance if you glue the rhinestones on a plastic surface & try to take them off that the case will look rather icky. It could also scratch the case a bit. This works for me because the case i use is made of *metal* , so the glue comes off easily with pressure.
So do you just stick it on the phone? cos i want to do this to MY LG KS360, but i dont want to buy the hard phone case cos it makes it ssooo bulky., so.. yeah
@Bieber1sadorable hi! yeah..... i just stuck it on my phone *eeek*, but i have an LG Shine, the back case (that covers the battery) is removable, so i bought a few back plates on ebay and i rotate which rhinestoned one i use. if i could go back and do it again, i would probably use a clear case, since it's a *PAIN* to get the rhinestones off the actual phone if you want to change your mind. hope this helped:)
@Bieber1sadorable i ordered mine on ebay for around $5 a piece. i'm not sure if they offer replacement parts at stores like Best Buy, I didn't try looking, but I would guess they'd cost quite a bit more than ordering them online
@Bieber1sadorable i'd use your best judgement with that, whenever attempting a DIY project theres always to potential to damage something (like the surface), but it shouldn't damage the actual internal workings of the phone (it hasn't for me, anyway..)
@deadlykissez13 yeah i'd say it does. i've only needed to replace the one area once (because i drop my phone a lot ^_^). if you *really* needed to take the rhinestones off you could do so with time, patience and a pair of tweezers. other than that they stay stuck in place:)
@msjuicy504 the glue holds onto the rhinestones fine for me. i do notice on the corners (sometimes i drop my phone ^_^) the gems have a tendency to come off, but only a few at a time over a looonng period of time. i like the glue because it's flexible, if I really need to take the rhinestones off (like reselling my phone) it would be possible, hope this helped:)

@goosebumpsgirlgirly4 i've only taken the rhinestones off once, i use a pair of tweezers to pull the glue around each rhinestone. sometimes the surface can become scratched if you're not too careful. all in all though, i've found that the glue comes off in small chunks and with a decent amount of pressure i've been able to get all the glue off altogether (without leaving any on the surface), hope this helps:)
@goosebumpsgirlgirly4 just keep in mind removing the rhinestones can be very time consuming, when i switched rhinestones from my old phone to my new phone it took several hours and a lot of patience:) just remember to get permission, as the glue gives off toxic fumes, it must be used in a well ventilated area with adult guidance
@LadiiRockStarFamous the glue is E-6000 industrial strength jewelry glue. I found it at Michael's (or check your local craft store) in the glue section (where the superglue/ tacky glue are found) hope this helps! :)

nail rhinestones would work, but be aware nail rhinestones are often made from plastic and not crystal. this means that the shininess will dull more quickly than if you used real rhinestones.
this is sooooooooooo CUTE i like the little hearts what are these stickers? can u plz answer back and how can i et the gems plz answer thx it was a great video :)
I think that's really cool. I decorated my camera will a friend took my inking markers for like cameras, cell phones, ipods, photos, scrap booking, anything! Nice vid. i really want to decorate my cell phone too!

Wow...my phone looks awesome!! Thanks so much;i absolutly love it, I even pretend to talk to people on it just so everyone around me can see my phone..lol. Anyways, thanks alot. (:
Yeah I thought it was going to be a lot harder than it was the first time I did it. The trick is to have a lot of patience:) If you don't, it can end up being a big gooey mess:)

I have jewelry glue that I bought from joanns is that about the same thing your using. i purchased it to replace stones that fall out of jewelry so i am thinking it is the same stuff. Very cute
iamcarolmiley 1 year ago
@iamcarolmiley thanks so much for your kind words! yeah i don't always use the same brand of glue, but i always use the same consistency. there is super glue that is like liquid (and really hard to deal with!) and then there are the glues that have more of a gel like consistancy which are my fav to use.

i have screen cell phone scratches would u recommend clear nail polish to fix it??
CuteeLovezBeauty 1 year ago
@CuteeLovezBeauty i guess it depends on how deep the scratches are, if it were me i'd leave a good thing alone, if the scratches aren't too deep don't mess with it, it could yield strange results in regards to the surface of the screen. I know polish will melt plastic (I used to decorate plastic hair clips with polish), so if you put clear polish over a plastic screen it would probably melt into it (to form the bond) and warp the clearness of the screen quite a bit, hope this helped <3

@cupcakeonawire so wat do u recommend to hide the scratches plz help me coz i tried braso, bananas, toothpaste and it didnt work at all

@CuteeLovezBeauty you know i wish i knew, but i know more about gluing rhinestone than i do fixing scratches

where did you get the little pieces with the pictures on them?
littlemushroom169 1 year ago
@littlemushroom169 i ordered them off ebay, go to ebay and keyword search for "sack stickers", it'll bring up a bunch of listings for sticker sacks which have the acrylic stone stickers, metallic stickers, etc. hope this helped :)

i wanna stick rhinestones on but i dont have the glue you use. so would it be okay if i used super glue? I'm not going to use a phone case just the phone itself. so would it harm my phone? thanks!
cutiee7899 1 year ago
@cutiee7899 I've never used anything but the E-6000 jewelry glue for my rhinestone projects, so I wouldn't know how super glue would work. If you're reluctant to glue things permanently to your phone, perhaps looking for a phone case would be the best option for you. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :)

what is the name of the glue you use?
BabyKakes4265 1 year ago
@BabyKakes4265 the glue is E-6000 industrial strength jewelry glue. I found it at Michael's (or check your local craft store) in the glue section (where the superglue/ tacky glue are found) hope this helps! :)

hanxa can you do a plastic phone review cuz i have a samsungt349 that would help
amela12300 1 year ago
@amela12300 my best suggestion to you would be to purchase a clear cover for your phone an affix the rhinestones on that rather than the phone, the glue bonds more securely to plastic than it would metal so just to be safe, I'd rhinestone a cover instead of the phone itself. hope this helps... ps i would do a plastic phone review but I don't have a new phone, if I ever get a new phone i'll def do a video on how i transfer my rhinestones. thanks for asking :) sorry i can't be of more help ^_^
cupcakeonawire 1 year ago
would it ruin your phone to put them on your phone
amela12300 1 year ago
@amela12300 if your phone is plastic, then yes, the surface could get distorted (cosmetically in apperance), it wouldn't effect the function of the phone. My lg shine has a metal backing so it doesn't ruin the surface at all, its just a bit of a pain to get the rhinestones off if i want to switch up the pattern. i've actually just ordered multiple backings so i can design many back covers to switch out.
cupcakeonawire 1 year ago
Hii um, where'd you get the rhinestones and glue? If I take off the rhinestones does that mean it's going to look icky afterwards? Oh and this would work for my itouch case too right? ^^ by the wayy I really liked the big stickers on the back of your phone, thanks :D
kawaiiotaku7 1 year ago
@kawaiiotaku7 I got the rhinestones & glue at my local craft store (Michael's or Joanne's). I found the glue, well, in the glue aisle:) I found the rhinestones in the DIY shirt decorating aisle with all the puffy paint, etc. Theres a good chance if you glue the rhinestones on a plastic surface & try to take them off that the case will look rather icky. It could also scratch the case a bit. This works for me because the case i use is made of *metal* , so the glue comes off easily with pressure.
cupcakeonawire 1 year ago
@cupcakeonawire oh thanks^^ theres a michael's near me so ill try putting rhinestones on my phone instead. :D thanks for the hellp~
kawaiiotaku7 1 year ago
So do you just stick it on the phone? cos i want to do this to MY LG KS360, but i dont want to buy the hard phone case cos it makes it ssooo bulky., so.. yeah
Bieber1sadorable 1 year ago
@Bieber1sadorable hi! yeah..... i just stuck it on my phone *eeek*, but i have an LG Shine, the back case (that covers the battery) is removable, so i bought a few back plates on ebay and i rotate which rhinestoned one i use. if i could go back and do it again, i would probably use a clear case, since it's a *PAIN* to get the rhinestones off the actual phone if you want to change your mind. hope this helped:)
cupcakeonawire 1 year ago
@cupcakeonawire oohh cool THANkS! that helps alot! hhow much was the cases?and would u know if they sel them in stores?(the cases) :)
Bieber1sadorable 1 year ago
@Bieber1sadorable i ordered mine on ebay for around $5 a piece. i'm not sure if they offer replacement parts at stores like Best Buy, I didn't try looking, but I would guess they'd cost quite a bit more than ordering them online
cupcakeonawire 1 year ago
@cupcakeonawire cool! do you think i should stik some on the phone it self aswel as the back? or would it damge or nything
Bieber1sadorable 1 year ago
@Bieber1sadorable i'd use your best judgement with that, whenever attempting a DIY project theres always to potential to damage something (like the surface), but it shouldn't damage the actual internal workings of the phone (it hasn't for me, anyway..)

does that glue hold up well???
deadlykissez13 1 year ago
@deadlykissez13 yeah i'd say it does. i've only needed to replace the one area once (because i drop my phone a lot ^_^). if you *really* needed to take the rhinestones off you could do so with time, patience and a pair of tweezers. other than that they stay stuck in place:)

how is the glue holdin on the gems...would u recommend this glue?just askin cause i have it instead of buying goop
msjuicy504 1 year ago
@msjuicy504 the glue holds onto the rhinestones fine for me. i do notice on the corners (sometimes i drop my phone ^_^) the gems have a tendency to come off, but only a few at a time over a looonng period of time. i like the glue because it's flexible, if I really need to take the rhinestones off (like reselling my phone) it would be possible, hope this helped:)

i have a questions wen you decide to take them off does it come out all crappy with left over hard glue
goosebumpsgirlgirly4 2 years ago
@goosebumpsgirlgirly4 i've only taken the rhinestones off once, i use a pair of tweezers to pull the glue around each rhinestone. sometimes the surface can become scratched if you're not too careful. all in all though, i've found that the glue comes off in small chunks and with a decent amount of pressure i've been able to get all the glue off altogether (without leaving any on the surface), hope this helps:)
cupcakeonawire 2 years ago
@cupcakeonawire oh okay thnx a lot now i might ask my mom to take me so i cud get those little rhinestones nd glue :D
goosebumpsgirlgirly4 2 years ago
@goosebumpsgirlgirly4 just keep in mind removing the rhinestones can be very time consuming, when i switched rhinestones from my old phone to my new phone it took several hours and a lot of patience:) just remember to get permission, as the glue gives off toxic fumes, it must be used in a well ventilated area with adult guidance

can i use nail rystones ???
mzfetch323 2 years ago
nail rhinestones would work, but be aware nail rhinestones are often made from plastic and not crystal. this means that the shininess will dull more quickly than if you used real rhinestones.
