It's true about Joes performances, he just hooks you from the get go and I've never been disappointed, seen him live 5 times now and and from start to finish there isn't one boring moment, it just builds up to the most amazing concert you'll ever see! He is an artist, glad you never became a pop star Joe, back when you were younger.
I've been waiting a long time for someone who can do the following:
1. Lay down rock, rock blues and blues tunes that will have you picking your jaw up off the floor. 2. Absolutely rip apart the fretboard by applying multilple techniques and blazing chops (this guy is NOT a one trick pony) from song to song and even within a song. 3. Have a voice that supports his guitar work AND can sing within the framework of multiple styles (rock, blues, rock blues etc..). JOE BONAMASSA is the REAL DEAL!!!
LOVE this guy!! Blues are incredible. I can listen to you all day and night - love the music, voice, feel and soul of it all. Thank you Joe for all the music you've given the world.
The "Best of the Best". Harrison Ford support in England. Just can't get enough of this guy. Seeing him in "Aurora" Illinois. Can't believe he's going be there. Can't hardly wait.
I was there, in the first row and still get goose bumps when I think about that show. I've been to many, many great shows in my life, but that one will always stand out. Joe was and is a phenomenal player!
If you can stand, in Albert Hall, on a speaker, with a Flyin V thrust over your head, next to Eric Clapton, and have people clap, that has to be a very nice thing to happen to someone,
Joe just recorded a duet with B. B. King which will be available on his forthcoming album Black Rock which is scheduled for release March-April 2010. It is a rendition of King's Night Life
I saw him in Brussels. Played well over two hours, and really put his soul into it. Simply amazing. No other words for it. Goosebumps during the entire show. I even almost cried a couple of times it was so awesome.
I didn't "Almost" cry... great music like this will bring tears to your eyes, that is if you have a soul.. Just saw Joe 2 nights ago in PA... totally incredible musician and artist. what more is there to say?
It's an excerpt from "just got paid" covered by Joe Bonamassa originally by ZZ Top, but personally i think it sounds similar to Paranoid by Black Sabbath. Still Joe is absolutely unbelievable.
no it isnt actually, its the riff after the solo from Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused". Saw him live in Edinburgh tonight, he played the entire solo from Dazed and Confused then played that bit.
is that the same Graeme that i spoke to in the black rose a few months ago? we had a chat about rock music and you mentioned you had tickets to see joe bonamassa and i was well jealous.
Heard about two tracks on Planet Rock last night, sounded awesome. Hear him on PR too doin' his radio show, really cool guy. Completely unfamiliar with him tho', I've no idea who he is except he's a guitar player.
Just got this DVD , highly recommended , not only is Joe a great , great player , but a genuine nice person also, the sound is awesome as is the camera work.
No other player since SRV has inspired me to kick up my playing to another level. "Asking Around for You" will give you goosebumps! This band is kick ass! Hey Joe... When are you coming back to Houston, Texas?!!
Epic. Pre-ordered already. Best live blues show of this generation? Sounds like it. I hope Joe still stays the best kept secret of the guitar world - he seems so humble and awed by the whole thing. Blues Rock on Joe!
I don't know how many times I have watched this, but it still gives me the thrill of a lifetime each time....so honored to have been able to be there...so proud of Joe. Phil, I'll say it again...absolutely, positively the best concert ever.
Totally agree with you Patty! And we two midwestern kids sitting together in the front row, who would have ever thought it? What a place, what a show, what a performer! I still get butterfiles.....can't wait for the DVD! ;) ........Roy
Gritty determination, hard work, and consumate feel and skill gave us a night we will remember for a very long time. This was without doubt the best concert I have ever witnessed. Can't wait for this momento of that night. Thanks Joe and everyone who made it possible.
2 drummers were a massive sound ! Exactley that. From the higher tiers where I was you could hear nothing but the sound of 2 drum kits ! Still apparently sounded good elsewhere
And just think, You, Patty, Sharon, Michael, Rhonda, Dave and I were in the front row. This not only could be the best music DVD this year, it might just be the best music DVD of all time! ;)
I'm with Patty on this one. Absolutely the best. The production on this DVD looks amazing and I can hardly wait. "Absolutely, positively", Patty? Now where have we heard that before? LOL
