I've never understood this notion that just because the factory put it on it's the ultimate part. The factory is trying to save money and make vehicles that appeal to the widest possible audience. I can say with absolutely no doubt that a Hurst or B/M shifter is VASTLY superior to the stock unit on just about any car. I installed the 5 speed version of this shifter on my 08 Mustang to replace the shitballs stock shifter and I'll be getting this one soon for my Challenger for very same reason

Not exactly. Auto design is all about compromise.. Appealing to the masses. Decisons are made regarding NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness). The factory shifter was once of those compromises. Longer Travel and wider pattern. The hurst addresses that at the cost of cabin noise and drive train vibration. Watch my quarter mile video.. :)
