Awesome guy. Seems down to earth, and not afraid to try new things sonically.

Too many movie scores are safe, boring orchestral works sounding like it's still the year 1875. Give me someone like Clouser any day over that.

He probably uses Logic, Ableton and Pro Tools for sequencing/audio. But for sounds, he probably has just about every sample library there is, plus some hardware instruments. If you're looking to mimic his sound, try Evolve or Morphestra for starters, or a Roland V-Synth.

He's big on Ableton, I can tell you that much. I actually go to college with his cousin, who's going to have an internship with him some time next year, and in preparation for working with him he received Ableton complete, Max for Live, and a ton of Novation controllers.

from what i remember Trent is the only one who makes music for NIN. He may have worked with Lohner but i don't think Reznor and Clouser were doing anything for NIN.

@Gaarnek1994 He did a lot of stuff. Like Danny, he did tons of remixes, reinterpretations, co-writing and some was even more of influence. Like Keith Hillbrandt who did the sound design for The Fragile era was brought in because of Charlies suggestion. NIne Inch Nails may be Trent Reznor, but he didn't keep those dudes in the studio for over two era just to waste cash. After that though it became mostly Trent again with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder. Kind of smilar to the Tweaker and Flood days.

Yes he did take part in Fragile. It was the last studio record of NIN in which he was involved.

Yes he writes all the music for the film using Logic first by himself. He's the composer.

He can then print out sheet music for an orchestra to perform it on a soundstage...and record the orchestra (to get that grand true symphonic sound).

Or they can just use the actual tracks he created...or a combination of the two.

They usually throw band music in the film too.

So he does use some true orchestra sounds cause I know their are programs so powerful as to create the sounds he uses but I was never sure.
