Yes that's true. The bear was probably nice because as soon as the Rhymies ran away, the bear said "Oh gee, stay for tea" making it sound like he wanted to be friends with them. After he said that, he was disappointed at the same time when the skit ended.
I agree. If he wanted to be friends with them he might not have asked them to stay for tea,but why was he tearing the tent down if he was going to be friends with them?
I'm not too sure about that. I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that clip came before this one. And if that's the case, the Rhymies obviously made it to shore.
Yeah, the Rhymies were cool. I'd like to give kudos to Bob Payne for his excellent voicing of Mary. He's rather comparable to Jerry Nelson when it comes to a convincing female voice from a man, I think. Nelson performs Barry here, and Frank Oz is Larry. They were voiced by different artists for the other sketch they did. Can we have that uploaded too?
Mokey Fraggle would've fit in great with these guys. Love Richard Hunt as the bear too...he voiced the same bear on the John Denver episode of "The Muppet Show" (Swedish Chef "Squirrelie Stew" sketch).
I liked the Rhymies; yeah they were kinda stupid, but they were fun! Certainly better than that little pest Elmo, or that piece of furry excrement BABY BEAR! Pity they didn't make more of them.
There were only two Rhymies skits? They must have played them repeatedly, because I remember both of them very very well. Thanks, sawing14s, for putting this up.
That was probably a very friendly offer that the bear gave to "The Rhymies" because after they ran away, the bear swung his arm and grunted at the same time like he was saying "Darn." Also, it looked like the bear was very hurt that "The Rhymies" ran away since the bear probably wanted to have some tea with others and he probably doesn't appreciate other people running away from him just because he's a bear.
I loved the Rhymies!

I love how the bear just says "roar" in a subdued, matter of fact way when he is first spotted, as if he were saying "hey" or "yo" to a pal.

Of course they did not last very long. They drowned in the sea when they were on a boat.

I don,t know. It was many years before. I only thought that because someone on the other skit commented "So that,s what happend to the Rhymies!"

Larry sounds just like Fozzie Bear, or Bert

All three are voiced by Frank Oz. I think he's best as Fungus in Monsters Inc.

Yes I have noticed that too.

The Rhymies are a cute little trio of Anything Muppet siblings with shaggy hairs and no noses.

Yes these characters didn't last very long. They lasted pretty much as long as How Now Brown Cow and The Moo Wave lasted.

I wonder if those blank faced muppets from "Fat Cat Sat" were used as the rhymies.
wattamack4 4 years ago
No those muppets were blue, green and purple. One of the rhymies is blue, but the other two are a yelowish green.
moatguy 4 years ago
There's no such thing as a "yelowish green" muppet. There is only one Green AM on the show. Also Larry is Lavender, not Green.
wattamack4 4 years ago
Still no purple.
moatguy 4 years ago
Actually the third muppet in shades from "Fat Cat Sat" was Lavendar, not Purple.Purple anythung muppets have a darker skin tone.
wattamack4 4 years ago
Well none of these guys were Lavendar.
moatguy 4 years ago
Lary is.
