@RiX20xx if your sound is messed up it more than likely means your using a cracked version, which yeah most cracked versions of games have jacked up sound. If not, im not sure why else your sound would mess up

I loved this game. My childhood from November 4, 2002 (eighth birthday) until I got AoM years later was defined by this game. I had Rise of Nations, but it didn't come close to as good as this game. Rise of Nations seemed to be an attempt to copy Age of Kings, and Rise of Legends seemed to be an attempt to copy Age of Mythology.

I know it's an RTS, but his and Shamburger are two songs that usually play int he beginning for me, and if I have some Milita I think about how they aren't facelss killers, you are sending real people to their deaths. That this is just like any other micro universe, things still take affect.

Are you serious? Look it up at Wikipedia. Halo: Wars was their last game (which they were forced upon by MS) and then they got kicked the fuck out. I will admit that I Didn't enjoy AoE III nearly as much as II but still.

They don't exist anymore. I guess MS wanted to focus on the more lucrative Xbox instead of PC and/or they didn' think that there were any point in having them left since they "only" made RTS games.

Oh well. It was fun while it lasted.

For me, AoE2 is still the best and most realistic strategy game out there. Others try and overcomplicate (Rise of Nations), yet others allow the graphics to overload the interface (AoE III). In the end, AoE2 just had a spark that most other strategy games lack :p

The only thing I would change would be to allow archers to go up on walls :p

@JoeSnyderwalk well in my opinion the most realistic pc strategy game is probably rome or mediaval total war (if you wish go check them) but also i agree with the fact this one is the best. It is a game thats chalenging & also easy. It has a HUGE variety of situations that you need to deal with & i think its the game that develops better your strategy skills, not only in battling but also in ruling a society of workers & in building their technology & in deciding what's the best way to win.

Simply brilliant. It's like slightly sinister, as it should be in the dark age. Quickly getting your economy running, advancing through the age, building your first barracks. The nostalgia just bursts from this track, I imagine that's what makes the game just slightly more interesting.

the Saracen hvy cav archer is one damn armoured unit (80hp, 1+4/0+6) if completely upgraded with bloodlines, smithies AND parthian tactics. together with the mamelukes there's not much that can withstand them.
