I just got 2 parakeets yesterday and one of them i can already pick u and put on my finger and the other when i try to pick her up she bites me........
@Eaglesfaninca Thanks for the compliment but this really is nowhere close to the intelligence that Alex demonstrated. Kili was learning under an operant conditioned methodology mainly based on trial and error. I really cannot be sure if she is matching the colors by concept or just be memorization of correlations like A to A, B to B. Alex was actually able to recognize colors, label properties such as shape, color, and material, and to quantify heterogeneous sets of objects based on properties.
@kiliparrot Yeah maybe you're right... I think I remember seeing a video of Alex counting too. Maybe she can match colors. I did a search on the web for info on Senegal Parrots and most of the results were you. Maybe you are embarking on new grounds here.
Very nice .You have him/her traind so well and not using food.I love that I didn't use food for mickey my budgie.Or the klicker but I was not training him to do the great things you are .
OMG! This is so fantastic, and inspiring. I have 5 Senegals. I have one in particular that I think I could train. Do you think it would be possible to train a trick a week to build up to what Kili is capable of, or is that asking too much?
I bet you could teach all 5 Senegals. It's more of a question of how much time you are willing to put in. Some tricks can be taught in a single day while others take an entire month. It really depends on your parrot, techniques, and the nature of the trick.
LOVELY KILI!!!!!!!!!!!!!
