  • did you used explosion from videocopilt

  • The action essentials elements are slowed down, you need to speed'em up before you use them unless you're shooting a slow motion scene! :D

  • hm, "this" effect looks really good... hopefully I found one effect, which is really good :) good work, respect

  • i dont like the camera shake at the start of the explosion, the rest looks nice though.

  • This shot is exactly what im looking to do with a current film project. Any chance you could provide information regarding where you obtained the explosion/s and your method for creating it? I'd be greatly appreciative. Great work. Thanks.

  • @oneups Stock footage from action essentials 2. I'll look for the project file later and PM you the shots I used.

  • Still Footage source?

  • @AverageGamerz More or less... it was a video on a tripod where I removed all of the actors, but there are still some cars in the background.

  • I love the explosion, but then it's just a filmed one. Everything looks good except the text is not affected by the light coming from the explosion and the shadows the smoke would cast. It's just missing a light with animated intensity behind the text.

  • what program was the explosion made in?

  • @Geared10k Read the title

  • @TheFXGuy oh thanks lol, is it cs4 or cs5? and if it is cs5 is it possible in earlier versions?

  • @Geared10k CS4, and its possible in about any version. Just fairly simple compositing, here.

  • CAN U PLASE MAKE A TUT!?!?!?!?

  • @autotunefredvst Thanks for the comment.

I'm taking a break from VFX for awhile (playing with the Source game engine), but I may make a tutorial on this when I get back into it.

  • how did you get rid of the guy

  • @WeHaveABlackhawkDown I masked out sections of the background that were clean at different points of time and stitched them together. Notice all of the other people are also gone, but a car in the background still moves.

  • @xXJustHathenXx lol idc. But that's not how I did it.

  • @xXJustHathenXx what are you talking about?

  • @cwGamingChannel thank you, and I may eventually. First I gotta catch up on all of the tuts I've promised to make, though.

  • im the thousanth view lol

  • this took 1 hour?! this is amazing!

  • Dude how did you make that camera motion it looks REALLY realistic.

  • @USFJointKings

This one was really frickin simple. All I did was add an expression to a null and parent all of the layers to it"

wiggle(1, 25-50); the 25-50 is dependent on how much you want it to shake. 25 is subtle, 50 is more extreme.

If you really want to go into detail, add that expression and then do some keyframing and try to find one thing to loosely follow and... well.. follow it by moving the null. THAT looks real.

  • action essentials II, but I composited it with smoke elements, debris, dust, 3d text, etc to make it look good.

  • I really like what you did with it

  • thanks
