  • Dan, what is the rotation of the pigs when they are outside in these fenced in areas. I live in Nicaragua where we have 12 months of sun, rain season, but always warm. Pigs are cool!

  • I hope his daughter takes up the reigns of the pig raising. We too raise pigs, year round, out on pasture. During our cold northern Vermont winters we use sacrificial paddocks which become large gardens for growing pumpkins, beets, turnips, sunflowers and such the next summer to feed the pigs the following winter. It's a cycle of life. We feed mostly pasture/hay and dairy along with the vegetables and such. Pigs are great fun to raise, delicious to eat and they graze wonderfully.

  • I love this. Stay organic! The new animal science practices are inhumane for any species. Hope younger farmers are following your footsteps. Signed, an Iowan farm girl moved to Ohio.
