I have never even once been in a "Wal Mart" store and probably never will. If I do buy retail, I do my best to make sure it wasn't made overseas. My wife and I have saved a lot of money buying "used" products from Thrift Stores, Plato's/Consignment, Salvation Army, (Goodwill is Greedy), American eBay, Local Craigs List and Garage Sales over the years. Keep's the money circulating in our local communities. Nothing wrong with trading and bartering either.

@Emerut 3. Last time I checked the wages of walmart workers, they got paid really well. Just average managers at any wal-mart stores make 6 figures, store managers make hundreds of thousands, etc.

The average wal-mart worker gets paid way more than most other stores, if I remember the facts correctly.

#4, it doesn't matter what workers get paid anyway....if it wasn't a good wage, people wouldn't take the job. Would you take a job for $1 an hour? Again, perhaps you should take economics

We send cheap grain to other countries, the farmers there can't compete with the prices, they lose their farms, they get factory jobs and barely survive, and we get cheap goods. NIKE once took away empoyees passports and made them work to earn them back so they could get out of the fifthy slums they were being held in, quit their jobs, and go back to Taiwan. All for the sake of free trade.

@real934, the government is trying to take away our right to peacefully asemble. I could get arrested for protesting animal cruelty under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. It looks like it tergets people who free animals from labs and stuff, but it has a clause that also descretely mentions anyone who would cause financial harm to an animal based industry. The government also has access to what books you read at the library, if you read books they don't like, your put on their red list.

For a pack of Kraft cheese singles it cost me $3.50 at wal mart yet I can get the same product at the mom and pop grocery store on the other side of town for $2.15. Low prices my ass.

Same with Costco, Mostly import Chinese furniture, foreign imported produce, Meat comes from New Zealand, and many times have found much higher prices per lb than local grocery stores when buying in bulk sizes. To top it off, you have to pay a 50.00 yearly membership. I agree! All HYPE!
