Because the King of France and his advisers never understood the future importance of the colonies of North America and did not engage all the power of the Kingdom of France in this war

Its necessary to say also & especially that France is not an island like England and is the vastest country of Western Europe

Thus it was to ensure its safety vs powerful terrestrial enemies on the continent & could not use all its power in its Navy like England (what often saved them in the History)

But the British try to steal the Ohio valley from the Natives, George Washigton (American) had the order to kill every Québeker and Indian he see in the Valley. I dont see how it was a fight for Freedom. American were pawn and see as inferior by the British in the French and Indian War. Remember that Washington fight the British was the Leader of the Revolution and that The French help you for your Independance...
