heh...normal cat behavior. A kitten will usual attack food like this even beyond its thresh hold to hold food. That's why its advised to make sure you feed it a controlled about...don't be fooled by this little act. Its probably his fifth serving that hour!

Either they starved it or it is a stray cat that was brought in (although it looks pretty clean for a stray cat). A regularly fed cat will maker noise for food, but not exhibit this kind of behavior while eating it. So has been my experience anyway.

And how do you know this? Is it your cat? How do you know it wasn't a stray cat they brought in to adopt? They are feeding the kitten... it's not like they have it chained up to the point where the kitten is just out of reach of the food. Cruelty would have been to dangle food in front of it without actually feeding it.
