The kids right... there used to be flashes but the U.S Military just recently got new guns from their suppliers with internal muzzle compensators. got rid of the flash. If i remember correctly that happened sometime last year
Actually, its called a flash suppressor, its on the tip of the rifle, the explosion does happen in the chamber but by the time it gets to the end of the barrel the flash suppressor dissipates the smoke outward so it wont cause a smoke screen in the line of sight. YEP NOT A VIDEO GAME.
@RamadiTV Hey-I own 2 of these and one has a flash hider and one doesnt-the hider more or less just disperses the flame into a starburst pattern and my colt straight throws a massive fireball-Next time I go shooting-I'll try to post a video response...thats why there are these things called flash hiders-
@Sevival because of the daylight-as soon as the sun begins to set you can see a wickid fireball come on-in pitch darkness its quite a spectacle! Most of the milspec m16's and m249 saw's have flash hiders to "try" to hide the flash as much as possible....
@Sevival It happens at night, and when it does and it will;do not look directly at the light, the reason being you will be temporarily blinded by the flash or in other cases ignorance.
@Sevival What our less forgiving friend is trying to say is that the weapon, like almost all modern assault rifles, has a flash suppressor. Its main purpose is to keep the shooter from self-blinding while firing at night, and it all but eliminates a visible daylight muzzle flash and you can only see a very small amount of light at night.
This is the first vid where I've seen Marines and Army guys hanging out lol. Stay safe guys I have huge respect for you! I plan on joining the Marines or Army after high school.
ah man... the good ol ramadi days:) the standard issue by the way for a Marine/Soldier back then was either an M16A2 or A4, now we get the A4 or and M4 with collapsable buttstock, ACOG and laser sights. Afghanistan sure was good to me.
There was talk of special forces accepting their HK416 design but now it looks like FN will be getting the contract with their SCAR design. Right now the SCAR is being field tested by the 75th Rangers in Afghanistan.
if you just wanna shoot fancy guns go to a shooting range...trust me, my dad nearly got blown up cause the stupid iraqi's took the same route 2 times in 2 days and the terrorists had set an IED in it.
GET THOSE CREW SERVED WEAPONS TALKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRE SUPERIORITY... GRAZING FIRE< AND KEEP YOUR BELT OUT OF THE FRICKIN DIRT!!!!!!!!!
Also US Army is currenlty getting rid of all m16 a2 rifles, and alot of the m16a4's. some a4s will be used as SDM rifles, ( squad/platoon sniper) weapons with the m14. Army is currenlty teseting new rifles for field testing in late 2010/early 2011 GO HK 416!!!!!
if they didn't have the practice then a lot more money would be wasted training new troops to replace the ones that couldn't shoot a few extra rounds to familiarize themselves to their weapons!
Other way around, usually. The Army is supposedly getting rid of the rest of their M-16s, and replacing all of them with M-4s. The Marine's, as far as I know, will be using a combination of M-16s and M-4s.
The A2 probably will be phased out by the A4, but we are sitting on 10's of thousands of A2's and it would take a while to phase them out. I went through basic training in 1993 and at basic we used the M16A1 from Vietnam. In fact my first infantry unit also issued me a M16A1 when I got out of basic. These things take time.
It's interesting to see the differences in the services. I went through Marine bootcamp in '94. We had M16A2s. Had them when we got out to the fleet, and occasionally would run across an M4 (ar15) here and there. But, I had met soldiers (often guard and reservists) who still had M16A1's through till about 2000. The Air National Guard is kit converting their A1's to A2 standard. Just so many of those old rifles out there!
i dought that you will read this but could you tell me if you know micheal brandon everet cause ge is my cousin but i think that he was in bhagdad anyway he loved his friends m249 sayed it was great
Actually when you fire from the shoulder you have to lean back a bit to counter balance the weapon. The weight of the weapon wants to pull you forward. Go to the gym and pick up a straight curl bar (should weigh about 15lbs to 20lbs) and hold it to your shoulder and you will see what I mean. Thanks for watching!
i like shooting in the prone possition better then shooting standing up because when you're standing you're like "Damn i missed, damn i missed." but when you're in prone you're more steady and you're like "Hey i got it!"
hey .. it was.. but it wasnt a bad jam. it took him ... about a second to fix it. in that time the haaji wuld have been blown away by then.. but true .. but keep in mind.. us soldiers r trained professionals.. we know how to kill even if our weapon jams... HOOAH glad u guys r home as for me n my unit.. were headin out.. HOOAH
Yeah I know it could be fixed but like thats still bad yo. What if it was like one of those split second moments where its you shoot him or he shoots you and your gun jammed. I mean its good he fixed it that quick but a gun jamming to me is very unacceptable.
very true.. trust me if anyone hates jammed weapons i do.. but keep in mind its the m16a2 but.. very true all we do to fight it and prevent it is.. maintenance and cleaning.. tons of cleaning the weapon gotta love that carbon build up
Yeah, scary stuff though. I mean when it comes down to it all it takes it 1 bullet to drop you. I really respect you guys for having the balls to look death in the eye and say "Hoorah!"
i have a question for you guys if i get Perfect accuracy on BCT does that mean i get an M4A1 with an ACOGx4 scope? because i am an excellent shot when it comes to my M24 Sniper System and when it comes to the windage and range ajustments im always on the mark so far out of 120 shots fired with my M24 ive hit 119
the last 1 i shot i did when i was sick so i completely missed it. OH and my M9 Baretta when it comes to 100 yards im a crack shot. give me a moving target and consider it history.Video
No, if you get perfect accuracy on BCT, you get qualified for Sniper School, or if you're still gonna be a rifleman, you just get whatever is issued to you. SF is a different matter. :)
There are still a lot of M16's out there. But then our BCT of 4000 soldiers were all National Guard. I think we only had 10 M4's in our company of 120 soldiers. Over 50% of the TOTAL force in Iraq is ANG, why would you want to give them the newest weapons? Also we are just signal pogs.
yea like the SSGs im a freak when it comes to guns. hey SSG Fritcion is it true that the most seasoned soldiers are gonna get lonewolf weapons with all the gear like a camera on the weapon, camera feed to a visor with a facemask to protect from gas,and water and lots of ammo??
ur kidding right.. that kind of weaponry hasnt even passed yet to be on the battlefield.. stick to your ghost recon games kid.. this is the real stuff

"Specialjg123" seems a bit angry to me. As far as uneducated, I (SSG Wright) have a Masters in Science & SSG Dobbs just left his teaching position at a University to run a cardiac rehab program for the largest hospital in the state. Dobbs is also about a year away from his doctorate.
It's funny that anyone would think everyone in the military blindly supports the president. Remember both Bush elections were highly controversial with the voting public being split 50/50.
Yes, it's a suppressive fire technique. Two or more weapons "talking" (firing one after the other), sounds like continuous fire to the target, keeping their heads down.
