My most favourite commercial about Indonesia. Always brings a lump to my throat each time I watched it, first back in 1992 and even now! This is the best tourism/marketing tool for the country.

Hmm.... I remember there's a well-known indian poet responded to someone who called Java the "little India, saying : "this is not little india, this is java, something which even india could not make".

This is by now way belittling india. True, indonesia at the very core of it is (still) heavily influenced by hinduism and buddhism teaching. And, I personally it, thank god for it.

What we have in Indonesia is the result of ___hundred of years__ of adaptation of indian influences to local culture. There's local creativity involved. We, infact, was happy to embrace those influences and make it part of our daily life.

Now compare that to what Malaysia just did. It's nothing than cheap commercial skit. They simply paste those symbols / artforms into their promotional videos, in hope that (unknowing) people would be attracted and visit malaysia for that (and later they will be dissapointed though).

No effort was event spent on adapting it to the realities of malaysia. Heck, they even actually hate it (pendet is a hindu dance, and we know malaysian muslims hate hindus). But, they (apparently) keep that aside for the sake of money. It really tells what the malaysians are.

Very sad to hear the fate of Garuda. At that time garuda operated the most of the aircraft in this adv in the world. Ever operated more than 150 aircraft in a time. Now lose more than 60% all of it. Garuda was able to compete in air transportation.

I hope no more corruptor in Indo, who will drawn Indonesia deeper. But I think its just a simply daydream.
