i live in puerto rico which is part of the US for those that dont know and over here DRINKING age is 18. i dont know why??? if everywere else in the US is 21. , im 19 and have been going to bars , buying beer in PR since i turned 18 and kinda got bored of it lol it sukz for my family members in NY who are not 21 yet cant drink but wen they come visit me they can legally drink in PR with there NY id cuz they 19 cuz they older than 18.
Here in the UK, you must be at least 18 to buy or drink alcohol, under the Licensed Drinking Act. 1964. You may also need to show your identity when buying alcohol, and don't drink and drive, even if you're 18 or over.
It's weird how this is such a big "problem" in United States and not in Norway where I live. And I'm not putting anything under the table here, there are literally close to NO problems related to "underage" drinking in Norway. It is widely accepted as just a part of growing up, and partying is very common among teenagers. I'm 18, I started going out to parties when I was 15, and I've never even HEARD of anyone drinking themselves dangerously drunk. We drink responsibly and we just have fun.
It always makes me laugh when I think about how in America, 21 is the drinking age, in tons of places in Europe, 16 is the drinking age, but once you go east of Berlin, you see 13 year olds hitting the bottle, and (big surprise) living through it. Where I live, in Bulgaria, any 10 or 11 year old can walk into a grocery and buy alcohol without anybody giving two shits. If regulation in America wasnt so strict, you wouldnt see retarded kids always dying. They would know how to control themselves.
@dudesonman4200 It's about parenting too. Parents believe that sheltering their kids from alcohol will make it so much better. They never talk about alcohol, try to never drink in front of their children. Make it COMPLETELY unacceptable to drink. Never talk about it, never talk about safe drinking. Whereas in other countries they let their kids taste beer and talk to them about alcohol, and how to drink safe. In United States they teach them how to say no, not how to drink responsibly.
I'm 19 and I work my balls off and there is nothing like having a cold beer after fucking working a long shift. I've never had any legal problems with drugs and alcohol. People need to chill the fuck out.
I am 14 and I only drink alcohol on party's and sometimes in summerbreak but I've never been drunk though because I only drink like 4/5 glasses :) Some Americans are being waaaay to dramatic about alcohol. It's not like 4 glasses of alcohol every 3 months is going to kill me..
I don't understand why people like drinking alcohol. Its one of the dumbest drugs out there. You don't enjoy yourself and you could puke or get headaches from it. Even worse, you feel like puking when you actually don't have to.
In my opinion weed is like heaven and alcohol is like hell.
@cdude100 yeah but if your 18 and trying alcohol 4 the first time, you might have a car and not know when 2 stop, if u start at 15, youll b more responsible with it
put it this way if you put your kids on to tight of a leash they will eventually strangle. teens have to experiment, go to parties and shit and experience that shit in high school cause when they go off to college the parents guide lines and shit will not matter they WILL be exposed to alc and and they wont kno wat the fuck to do they will go loose and wild. you cant keep your kid all tied up its how it is in our generation...so to bad you old motherfuckers.im proud of our generation!
this only happens in america, other parts of the world the alcohol laws are more easy going. kids think its rlly cool to drink cuz they have never had alcohol. if u give your kids a bit of wine every once and a while there alcohol tolerence will go up and they wont take alcohol as something new
You know, lots of folks thought the same as you. However, a recent study in Europe indicated that kids there are binge drinking at rates even more excessive than in the US! This is a global problem that really needs attention. Thanks for watching.
@stacylead I agree,I live in Europe and I know lots of teenager that drink,a lot,for fun...and most of the times their parents think it's ok:| So I think it is more about realising how bad it is or it could be,it's not so much about being prohibited or not...
@furrybeans I completely agree! They drink it because its this big taboo in america. Thats why they like it! in Italy, you don't hear problems about drinking. They don't even have a drinking age. They are relaxed, making the whole idea less taboo.
Thanks for your comment. We are trying to educate kids and their families about the price of drinking young, drinking heavily. Help us by spreading the word!
I started drinking at 14.... still no regrets.

@sh0werp0wer Gotta agree with this. I'm 17 and from Holland, though I don't drink. Anyway, I think some problems with parents are that;
1: They're not even bothering inform their children about alcohol with the idea of ''if I forbid them, they'll do it anyway'' which is stupid.
2: They think their children will never get drunk cause they've been ''raised nicely'' (again, no alcohol talking)
3: Are convinced that their children drink ''safe'' which I say, often is bullshit.

If you're old enough to die for your country, you should be old enough to drink in it.
