  • my teacher couldnt even teach me this, had to come on youtube to learn math

  • @tropicalrecon well that's why I make these vids--glad you got it...

  • fuck math, im gonna go watch porn

  • @IronMaidenDoD Oh, internet.

  • deto

  • Thank you helped me alot. :]

  • from now on, i'm coming here to learn math lol

  • hi! i'm an 11 year old and i just wanna say thank you for this tutorial and God bless you! :)))

  • @MonkeysOnSticks thnx 4 the comment...

  • @northstar15 thx 4 the lesson! :P

  • woops ok I get it now sorry.

  • we have 9 left over? from where?

  • @TheGuinnessboys From 45. 12x3=36. So now we have 3 in front of the fraction as a whole number and then subtract 45-36=9. So you get 3 9/12.

  • What's 2/5 Times 15/16 ? {:

  • @MarvelxFreakxx All you do is multiply across, starting with your numerator. So here, you would get 30/80, which reduces to 3/8. Watch my latest vid on cross-cancelling...

  • @northstar15 Oh ya! so i WAS right! :D . ^^ . Thank you. and you can teach me in 6 minutes what my teacher will try to teach me in a month ^.^

  • @MarvelxFreakxx ha ha--thnx for this comment :)

  • when you say "we have 9 left over" where does that come from??? is that part that has me confused!!!

  • @sexyasshell if you are simplifying an improper fraction, like 12/5, 5 goes into 12 twice (since 5 x 2 = 10) and there are 2 left over (between 10 and 12). Is this what you meant?

  • thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much. Helped alot :)

  • Thanx....I just learned how to do this and now i understand!! (:

  • omg...I am one lucky mother fucker, I search on google to learn how to do this, click this video to find out this is the exact question I have. Thank you.

  • @RyuKirin1 thnx 4 the comment...

  • i can't comprehend written out instructionals...seeing it written out and spoken like this makes it so much easier to understand. thanks! jasperkatt7

  • @jasperkatt7 thnx 4 the comment

  • Thank you! This helped a ton!

  • can you do 6 4/5 x 2/3 my teacher gave it to me in summer school today and i for got how to do these kind of fractions

  • @funkyduyman you must change the 6 and 4/5 into an improper fraction first: 34/5 x 2/3 = 68/15 = 4 and 8/15

  • @northstar15 Oh okay thanks.

  • what if the fraction mutiplyed by cant be reduced then what do you do?

  • @stephhanieeMartinnez just leave it as your answer...

  • this is for nerds, JUST KIDDING! thank you so much!

  • THANK YOU CROSS CANCELLING IS ALL I NEEDED!!!!

  • what if i dont have a remainder.

  • @saskesgirl08 what do you mean by 'remainder?' You may not have to simplify at the end, if that's what you mean...

  • thank u so fucking much man!!!!!! i finally get my math home work.lmfao....but really..im so happy i found this

  • @saskesgirl08 glad it helped :)

  • @saskesgirl08 can u tell me wat grade is this for?

  • god i am such a nerd! ;)

  • i was right HAHA! damn i wish i watched this a day earlier then i would've done way better on my exam :/

  • @BMX4life9882 make sure to see if any of my other vids can help...

  • thank u so muchhhhhhh

  • how do you cross cancell i dont get it???

  • @stanleyfrink This is not an easy concept to explain in a message--I will prob do a vid on it soon--for now, you do not have to cross-cancel--just multiply across and simplify...

  • is 42 divided by 2 = 21 cuz it jus dont sound rite...?..

  • @malikmaceo yes...

  • u made it so easy for me i been having a hard time to u made it so easy i wa'snt geting it iam in the 6th grade hope u posed up more because u become very helpful please put more videos up of more math subjects

  • common sense here

  • the second questions:haaha...the answer is wrong!the answer is :four one over four..the

  • haaha...the answer is wrong!the answer is :four one over four

  • hey question: can u make a video with multiplying fractions using a model like 2 hexagon peices together? and an ex. is 2 and one third times three quarters??

  • @shane124371 I appreciate this suggestion. Let me think about it. I do have similar vids to this. All you are basically doing is converting the mixed number to an improper fraction, then multiplying across--first the numerators, then the denominators; then simplify if necessary...

  • Thanks! I'm fraction callenged.

  • @Northstar15

For the first question could you simplify 1/6 in 1/3 ?

  • @twilightselena4eva No, 1/6 is already simplified. Whenever you have "1" as your numerator, the fraction is always simplified.

  • @northstar15 no, you just have to multiply them together

  • thats amazing!

  • ok, hw's done, now back to call of duty

  • 3 goes into 9

  • cant understand why you dontcross cancel insted of reducing? silly

  • do u have to get a common denominator tho?

  • @banis3000 No, you do not need a common denom when you are multiplying fractions--just multiply across, starting with the numerators, then the denoms and simplify at the end, if necessary.

  • thanks awesome!

  • @CHECKtheX you would first change the mixed number into an improper fraction--and then multiply across and simplify...

  • @nezz752000 Yeah. this was a refresher 4 me.

  • the GCF of 2 and 12 is 2???

  • @badtaz9191 yes, because with these two products, 2 is divisible by 12. The GCF of 4 and 12 would be 4, since here, 4 is divisible by 12.

  • Can you teach me how to do this problem im confused, 1/4 x 2 2/7

  • @PINE304 change the 2 2/7 into an improper fraction first, then proceed as in the video, e/g., 1/4 x16/7 = 16/28 = 4/7

  • In my school 5th,6th,and7th grade do this and me to

  • I am in 12th grade and I still don't get this tbh

  • @grig24x you must be getting it or else you wouldn't be in 12th grade :)

  • Thank you so much. Your videos helped me a lot. You are excellent at explaining.

  • Thanks a lot for this mate, finally made sense.

  • thxs guy, good job explaining. Once again thanks a million!

  • Oh and can't you not cancel top by top and same with bottom?

  • Thank You ;)

  • Midterm tommorow thx for the help

  • @northstar16 i see 12th graders doing this..

  • I'm in 7th grade doing this....

  • @gonder29 and??????

  • @gonder29

I was in 6th grade doing this .

    or 5th ?

  • @gonder29 LOL Im doing this in grade8, never learned this in grade7

  • @gonder29 im in SIXTH grade doing this

  • what would 2 1/10 x 3/7 be??

    like does type of problems..

  • I can't believe I had to look videos like this up. It's just been so long that I've been able to use a calculator for this shit that I forgot.

  • @footballfanman7 don't be so hard on yourself--that's why these vids are here...

  • @footballfanman7 lol we hardly use this stuff in everyday life..so really is almost pointless to teach alot of this untill you get ready to use it cause it does not stay with us..i minds do not store this kinda info for long..Unless it finds it interesting and very few do lol.

  • DUDE!!!! thnx...u helped me solve my assignment!!!!! I SUBSCRIBED!

  • ok good i got it within the 1st minute but how do i do something like this -1/2 x 3/5

  • That all made PERFECT sense. Thank you so much for an extremely helpful video.

  • ok, thanks for the advice :)

  • i got it thanks u rock!!

  • thank you so much for posting videos like this, you really helped me and my 10 year old daughter (we both suck at math) to actually understand how to multiply fractions! I will be coming to you for math help from now on. THANK YOU!

  • this might sound retarded, but is (-4) - 2 the same thing as 2 - (-4) ????

  • @WestCoastIrk no it is not: -4-2 = -6, since you are subtracting further into the negatives; 2- -4 actually becomes 2 + 4 since the 2 negative signs turn the problem into a positive operation. So the answer to the second problem is 6. I have one vid here on adding integers, which you should watch; then you have to learn your integer rules. In a few months you should be fine.

  • This helped me alot :))) thankss

  • Wow, you explain things, really well :)

    Thanks.

  • wat about numbers like 15/26 x 13/30

  • @Superstar0730 when you multiply any proper fractions with each other, all you do is multiply across -- first the numerators, then the denominators; then, simplify at the end.

  • thanks kinda helps i like how you take the steps slowley

  • Heeeey thanks for your help :)

  • What if it's like this

    9x4 2/3?

  • at 3:28, I dont get how u got 3 9/12 I understand it up until there. could u please explain in the most easiest terms possible. I suck totally at maths. Music, cooking, english fine, Maths way out of my league.

  • @AbbASongs1 oh, Im using the calculator, and it just skipped to 3 3/4 so i guess its alright.

  • @AbbASongs1 YES! 3 and 3/4 is the same fraction as 3 and 9/12--it's just simplified.

Please watch my video on reducing fractions--you must know how to do this :)

And are you a subscriber??? If not, please subscribe :)))

  • @AbbASongs1 I am changing this improper fraction of 45/12 into a mixed number. Please watch my video of changing an improper fraction to a mixed number.

  • Thanks for clearing all that up. My mind just went blank on basic math! :)

  • how do i kno if its always divided into 2 how can i find another way and y do i cross does this help for allproblems sorry im just a bit confused

  • @TheChanelpear I'm not really sure what you are asking here. But let's keep it simple. When multiplying fractions, just multiply across. Then, reduce if needed. How do you know if you have to reduce? If there are factors that go into both the numerator and denominator. This takes practice to determine.

How do you reduce? Watch my video on reducing fractions.

    And please subscribe :)

  • Thanks for NOT complicating such simple problems!!

  • @mrskizzie you're welcome :)

  • Thanks man, this video made multiplying fractions so simple.

  • I'm a mom, trying to learn this stuff to help my son with his homework. (I learned it in school, but forgot). Your video was all I needed to learn. Thank you a million.

  • lol @ write clear.

Re-read your messages before you send them dumbass.

  • ur a really good teacher thank you so much!!! im only a c/d grade :( but this really helps

  • could you demonstrate multiypling 3 sets of fractions that i ran into please like :3/1x 4/3x11/5=/

  • Please see your YouTube inbox.

  • Thank you sooo much!(:

  • This may be odd, I don't know if you guys are american or not buy im being taught this and I'm in grade 8.

We were taught way advanced stuff before this so I tended to overcomplicate this WAY TOO MUCH, now that i've seen these videos ive seen the ways I've been confusing myself. Thank you so much.

  • Thank you for this nice and well written comment. It is just "me"--there is no "us" and I am in the U.S.

  • @ThatRantKid

stfu im in year 6 which is like grade 6 in us and im realin this

  • Kid what are you talking about?

I explained it in my comment, not all schools are the same so how about you stop being an ignorant child and realize that life may be different somewhere else.

  • thanks this will make re-learning math a little easier

  • awesome video! thanks :)

  • Thank you! I thought I would never get cross-cancelling!!! :D Now I can do my homework!! :D

  • Great. Many people do not understand cross-canceling or are never taught how to do it. Not all teachers teach it. Remember that it is not required--it just saves you from simplifying at the end.

  • @northstar15 dude what happend to ur voice

  • What do you mean???

  • well...first your voice sounded like a teenager then became an adult

  • That's funny. This vid is several years old and I did a voice-over on it. Now, I just film the whole thing at once, obviously.

  • Glad you are enjoying the videos...

  • My son (he's 10) finished the problem the way you taught earlier by cross cancelling and when he got the same answer as you he said "YAYYYYY!". What a relief to find this site.

  • i get it!

  • THANK YOU! I FINALLY GET IT!

  • Once again thank u SOOO MUCH! x3

  • Thanks for all of your nice comments. I should be uploading a few more videos within the next week or so.

  • your videos are awesome !!! I LOVE MATH!!!

  • @TheYordano1 wait till you get past algebra 2.....

  • Oh thanx dude, I thought I would never get done with my homework... and who says internet rots little kids brains(:

  • dude make a damn video about multiplying fractions with the damn mixed numbers

  • Watch my video: Multiplying Fractions 2. All you do is change the mixed numbers to improper fractions first, then multiply across, reduce and convert to a mixed number again. I have several videos involving multiplying mixed numbers.

  • Thank you very much, you are a great teacher, better than my school.

  • I know right?!

  • U R SO MUCH BETTER THAN MY MATHS TEACHER. My life would be much better if you were my maths teacher

  • is this a possible sum? 5/7 x 7/12?

  • A 'sum' is the result of an addition problem. A 'product' is the result of a multiplication problem.

Here, you would cross-cancel the 7s, since they both go into each other once.Your final answer will be 5/12.

  • Thank you sooo much! u helped wiv my homework, and i know about the whole product thing but im a kid and i live in ireland and here if we want to know if u can do the sum it mean if u can do the question, hope that makes sence! but thank you soo much anyway!

  • This is so good to know. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad my videos are working for you...

  • Thanks, we can actually get through my daughter's school work now!

  • soooo much better than my math teacher thanks :)

  • Thanks 4 the comment. Please subscribe...

  • You're awesome :D

  • Thanks!

  • no Thank you for teching me...

  • That was great thank you!!!!

  • thankz bro !?!?!?!?!?!?@#$#$#$%$#@

  • omg... thank you so much dude.... cool

  • Thanks so much for placing this here. My son understood it better when you explained it. Please do more on whatever math concepts you choose I'm certain will be needing them.

  • Thanks for the comment. Please subscribe!

  • good video!!

  • thank you so much, i never learned fractions in 7th grade because i had a horrid teacher, this helped SO much!

  • Thank you so much. I'm only 12 years old, and I'm ready to go into the seventh grade. My summer packet isn't hard, but the front is difficult for me! I waited until August and I totally forgot how to multiply and divide fractions, every way. Thank you so much! I really appreciate everything you've done and how much you've helped me!! You're so kind! :)

  • Thanks so much for your nice comments. If there is a particular math concept you would like me to make a video on, feel free to suggest it. I will take it into consideration.

  • you got a gay summer packet too?

  • at 3:25 I don't get how you got that answer. I listened carefully i still don't get it. I saw how you got 45/12 and then from there I got lost.

  • See your youtube inbox for my response. It is too long to post here.

  • well the 45 gets divided by 12

  • he changed it into a mixed number and then simplfied it

  • lol thank you! i'm in the 8th grade and I never got this! but you helped thank you again

  • You're welcome :)

    Please subscribe!

  • THANK YOU! I NEED THIS FOR HOMEWORK! im only 10 too! thank you! u saved me from getting yelled at and in detention!!!! :) tHANK YOU! I NEED GOOD GRADES. THANK U!

  • Thanks a lot, your videos are *hopefully* gonna get me a C for my calculator GCSE tomorow :D

  • Thanks - my 10 year old Daughter has got a lot from these vids - Cheers
