Ok, question, why have we never heard of this Gene guy,and choking out Seagal and beating up Bruce Lee. I know, cause it never happened thats why. Steven Seagal is a grand master, Bruce Lee was well, Bruce Lee. Everybody wants to hear stories about these guys getting beat up, so they come up with bullshit and spread it like wildfire. Show me the tapes, show me something with proof,then I'll say,yeah that really happened.

Hey, don't get me wrong guys, I would love to see chunky(steven) get choked out by Gene. I don't doubt Genes skills, I did look him up and found that he was a badass. I just wish somebody would of had a camera to catch that shit, cause then Steven could stop walking around like he's king of the mountain. @bird4200 Hey thanks for not being a dick about this. Gene is not as big a name as he was when he was younger. But I assure you that in within the martial arts community, it is a well known choke. I too wish that was on tape. I have respect for any grandmaster, but an actual fight is won by men like Gene.

@bird4200 you do not have to accept the fact that Gene LeBell choked out Seagal but that does not change the fact that it happened. However, LeBell did not beat the shit out of Bruce Lee as some people allege; he simply took him down and sat on him because he did not want to hurt him.

However, some years ago, I was able to talk to a stuntman who witnessed the incident and he confirmed that it did indeed happen. Anyway, that having been said, it's a free country and you can believe whatever you want.

@Marcfj Gene knew his stuff, there's no doubt, but any truth behind him choking out Seagal, or manhandling Bruce Lee, is all coming from rumors, hearsay, and it's really hard to trust peoples word these days. I could say, I punched out Jean Claude Van Damme in a night club when he wasn't looking, but that don't make it true, but how do you prove it didn't happen? By the way, that's how Chuck Zito claims he put JCVD down, but witnesses say he sucker punched JC, then left the club.

Also Seagal did not run from Van Damme.

He just avoided the fight because he would send Van Damme to a hospital with all his bones broken.

Dont forget that Seagal is a Budhist, its forbidden to fight unless its self defence.

Van Damme is the real joke, he is a dancer not a martial artist like Seagal.

Seagal said years ago that all the prices that Van Damme have won are a matter of opinion.

Van Damme is just a joke thats loves to pick fights, a real martial artist wont do so.

and years of committed work on his karate makes him a martial artist

i know plently of amazing martial artists and mma fighteres talented as all hell, and they are absolute douche bags

and i know plently of ones that are humble talented and great teachers

martial arts also isnt just fight effectiveness, all the kung fus hold traditions, and are good for the body and mind, lebell is a legend tho, of real fighting, akido isnt street or ring/cage effective imo

Lee didn't 'start' fights he proposed challenges unto other styles and techniques to prove his method was better and more efficient. This was his ultimate way of testing his style as it had no form and was adopted from numerous things like salsa dancing and fencing footwork to Kungfu and Jujutsu. He was cocky but he had good reason to be lol. But he was also humble as well and took everything he did seriously.

Lee didnt even believe in styles near the end of his life. He wrote, however, the the only way to see if a technique would work was through sparring. Furthermore, Lee wasnt a karetaka LAGOOK, He cultivated his own art which is what he wanted of his students. He believed in attaining tools to serve you not for you to serve a style. Read his biography and tao of jeet kune do and youll see.

Steven Seagal aint fake, just do some more research before saying stuff.

Seagal is a 7th dan Aikido master and has trained in Japan, he even opended his own dojo there.

Seagal also holds black belts in Karate and Judo.

I dont know if its true that Seagal was choked out by Lebell bu I think Seagal would fuck up Lebell in any encounter.

Just remember that a choke will only work from behind, I dont think that Lebell stands a chance against Aikido master Seagal.

Gene's like the opposite of Steven Seagal: EVERYONE beats Gene in the movies, but NEVER in real life; with Seagal it's the opposite.

Gene is famous for making those comical faces and other jokes; he's so good, he doesn't have to take himself seriously. That's why Seagal's such a sphincter-face, since he KNOWS he sucks and he's a big fat fake, so he's super-serious paranoid about anyone finding out. So when Seagal crossed Gene's path, it was inevitable that Seagal would end up shitting himself!
