  • I love how Avatar gets us all wound up to see some epic magic that he's gonna use to kill Blackwolf, but then he just pulls out a gun and just fucking blows him away.

  • Quem mais viu a SUASTÍCA NAZISTA aos 00:33 ?

  • wow that was some fucking bullshit!

  • > Looks at related videos

I'm in that weird part of youtube again...

  • @Mochachocakon Very weird.

  • This was mercifully overshadowed by Star Wars the very same year.

  • Stukas? Are you kidding me? But ok this was the late 70s pretty much the nadir of animation, especially on a limited budget.

  • WTF? pulling a Gun out of his sleeve? thats!....Thats actually Pretty fucking smart.

  • amazing that people still don't know the difference between what's mine and what's yours.

  • Ralph Bakshi is crap. How did I ever like this? Must have been on drugs. Bad drugs.

  • @Conn30Mtenor dude just saw this thing on shrooms.........idk wtf u r talkin bout. These movie is badder than a pack of honey badgers!

  • they should seriously make a remake of this movie

  • What sort of effect is that, where it's live-action silhouettes with coloring and added parts?

  • @3afterPM Rotoscoping

  • @3afterPM Well using live action to animate is called rotoscoping, though it's usually not as stylistic as this.

  • That was some trick his mother taught him.

  • The Fairy's name is Elinore, for anyone looking to fap or contribute to the hentai community.

  • Why are the elves hit with arrows if the enemy is using technology? Friendly fire?

  • Some serious acid was involved in the making of this picture

  • I'm sure Hunter S. Thompson was part of the films creative advisers

  • SLUT!!!!!!!!! 4:00

  • 5:30 BEST SCENE EVRER!!!

  • So let me get this straight....the only reason avatar cared about winning was to save that whore and her big tits? Once he left he didnt care about saving all the good in the world...wow

  • @soccerdude349 pussy changes all perspectives haha

  • DEATH BY LUGER

  • Reminds me of the Zelda cartoons...

  • I think there's a reason why this movie was made in the 70's....lol

  • i think it has good music

  • um, calling your brother a son of a bitch doesnt really work XD

  • Poor man...his heart broken but at least he got a kingdom to himself.

  • I remember watching this when I was a kid!

  • the ending at 05:34! that was totally unexpected! i mean avatar using a gun?! i thought'd he cast some awesome spell or something, but using a gun?! WTF?!

  • 4:01 lol SLUT!

  • this is what you watch when high

  • Great movie.

  • I don't remember how the fuck I got here...

  • @vimse12 I got here from Ocelot spinning his revolver..... :|

  • larry rocks thank you master

  • I knew Avayar was hitting that.

  • that fairy is hot I'd tap that, reminds me of Fritz the Cat cartoon

  • @ekalb2185 it's made by the same person.

  • @tuchesuavae but she have to diee >:)

  • go tap that chubby fairy ass, you old pimp

  • LAMO I think this honestly was my first introduction to the word "bitch" being uttered as a kid. No joke.

  • not so much as a nip slip...

  • 9,000 years old and Avatar is still a pimp.

  • 0:51

    Lol

  • 5:26 LOL i'm glad you changed your last name you son of bitch (draw gun and shoot)

  • @yakanamu you can also push 6 and it will go to it

  • @DanielBman1 dont know i am lost too

  • "I'm glad you changed your last name you son of a bitch!"

    I love this guy XD

  • What the heck was he smoking?

  • I love the different artwork used in this. Cool movie, definitely Bakshi's best

  • @TheSkelwor THE END!!!

  • I dunno. I think the elves were more like nazis than the mutants. I mean, killing what they thought was an inferior race? Incredible nationalism? Dirty tactics? And they KILLED Peace - Ellenor just didn't want to get ganked. Elves are the real bad guys here.

  • @DreamPioneer12777 agreed. and by the way, HOW THE F*** DOES THE ELF KNOW KARATE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • I like how instead of using magic he just pulls out a pistol and caps his brother xD hahah its like why has no one thought of this before? hahahaha

  • lika a G6!!

  • What the **** did I just watch?!

  • @lilibird123 elves vs nazis.

  • @lilibird123 looks like u just watched the film that the lord of the rings stole their material from

  • A lot of the imagery is so weird and the music is just saddening.

  • This movie is ridiculously violent.

  • you can tell less and less detail was put in over the film

  • Wizards was hailed less for it's art (much less) and more for it's anti-war message (it came out at the height of the cold war)

  • Wow. This movie makes Avatar look like a freakin' masterpiece. Geez, while Avatar was one of the most overrated films ever made, this is just a stinkin' piece of sh*t. The voice acting is extremely wooden across the board, the heroes are idiots and really suck at fighting, the animation is horrible, even for the 1970's, scenes happen for no reason, and each suspenseful moment is resolved via one cop-out after another. Seriously, why give a crap about anything with these problems?

  • @REALmikegordan still you got to admit the fairy is hot lol

  • @REALmikegordan

Seriously, just get the fuck out.

  • @OggyisCool A die-hard fanboy if I ever smelled one. But seriously, you're responding to a 3-week old comment when I haven't even returned to this video until now is quite sad. Personally, I don't want to put up with it. Here's a block, now have a nice day.

  • @REALmikegordan yeah, it's a really weird movie.

  • O.o I can honestly say the only other movie that creeped me out more than this was Watership Down.

  • Man I am disappointed. I really hoped that the reasons of Black Wolf would be depicted, especially after that short part with his wife/girlfriend? He seemed too be far more interesting character than avatar. Maybe its just me but I think that Black Wolf was not entirety bad. He was mutant and he understand inequality of that world hm kinda remind me of C&C tiberium game same green and red zones.

  • Don't swords, bows and armor count as technology? Even a stick with a sharp rock on the end of it is more technology than you're born with!

  • @Nyghtshade409 I think they're more tools than technology.

  • @LibraHorse1 Tools ARE technology.

  • well can you pase me the full video ?

  • I was kinda hoping to see more boobies when I started watching this =/

oh well the end was still badass :P

  • Let's settle this like men...with GUNS

  • the worst animation i ever see

  • @mblame it was made with 70s tech what do you expect.

  • And one of the most bored-sounding narrators I've ever heard in my life.

  • @TrojanChris1990 You are joking, right? For the time it was some of the most emotional and beautiful narration ever. Her voice really brings out the age of the film. You wipper snappers expect so much silly stuff. This is the film that had its flame snuffed by bloody star wars, and only star wars. sheesh.

  • @jfhsansei Silly stuff? Nice assumptions there. I just didn't think her voice brought out as much emotion as it needed to. If you like it, more power to you. It's all opinion based.

Christ what is wrong with youtube commenters? Not everybody has to have the exact same tastes.

  • Wow. Anti-climactic would be an understatement.

The anti-war and anti-Nazi themes in this movie make it work, but it's definitely an acquired taste. You have to be able to stomach ALOT of cheese to get through this .

  • O HAVE NO IDEA WHAT JUST HAPPENED

  • I'm so glad I found this! My cousin showed me this like ten years a go. I forgot its name and foudn it by chance on here. One of the best cartoons ever for sure. Great artwork, amazingly good story, so many intricate themes. And this is 70s too! I love the end.

"I wanna show you a trick mother showed me when you weren't around. Used it on special occasions like this. Oh and one more thing, I'm glad you changed your last name you son of a b****!"

Goes right up there with Heavy Metal.

  • Well it was alright, animation was decent I guess. On the other hand the story was quick and not well thought of. But overall alright.

  • 1:21 how the did he get shot with an arrow

  • she touched peace's piece

  • How did Cracked.com ever think a movie full of elves and demons slaughtering each other and Nazi propaganda ever was "for kids".

  • @brianblackberry i watched it as a kid. who the hell doesn't know about nazi's by the time they're 10?!

  • @Jessika8674 Yes but the movie wasn't meant for children.

  • @brianblackberry well my parents played it for me so obviously, just like with MANY things, it may not have been overtly marketed for kids, but i'm sure whoever was making the $ didn't give a single fuck. my parents weren't dysfunctional or abusive or racist or anything. i love how imaginary creatures killing each other is NOT for kids: their IMAGINARY!

  • That is one of the most disturbing things I ever seen... maybe because the elfs looks to much like children... dying.

  • animated elfs vs animated and nazi rotoscoping mutants

  • And agreed. If your gunna fight to the death with with your murderous brother. Why gamble when yoj can blast him like a red shirt?

  • Your reading to much into the random images and less the big picture. Bw's secret weapon was the projector showing “old world“ war at its worse. Meant to do what it did. Lock the softheeled elves in horror while the half retarded mutanta wipe them out. The nazisim seems more a focus for leadership

  • A gun serious? O.o this movie entertained me even if it kinda sucked..

  • "You have AIDS, old fool!"

  • ...someone really just said screw it by the end of this, didn't they? But anyways...Delia was a bitch. If you knew he was going to be such a dick, why not spare everyone the trouble and shoot him or drown him or something yourself.

  • how did hobit/elves live longer than 2 seconds against nazi barbarian insect demons

  • holy shit i didnt expect that to happen at the end lol

  • a Epic Battle.... love this cartoon...

  • Is that the end?...is it really?....What The Hell. O.o

  • Best way to kill off a villain, EVER.

  • how the fuck is this movie rated PG?, it should be rated R O_O or PG-13

  • @16falloutboy When it was made, the PG-13 rating did not exist. It escaped R, likely, because it was a cartoon. That and Mark Hamill.

  • the whole Movie is a big, bad joke!!!! >.<

  • Avatar said it was a "trick", but he didn't say it was a magic one.

  • 4:01 lol.

  • I find it rather vicious of try mixing some parts of stupid histeric clichés on nazi as realm of evil, into a fairy tale scenary. The attempts to pollute the brain of kids with zionist propaganda since 1992,seems to be once more evident here !For instance the good old Avatar is wearing a david star on his sorcerer's hat.The Simpson family is now commonly used as a support for zionists propaganda clips add over Groenings'work. It's a pity for the film could be very good, despite poor animation job

  • @BOOOZB Yeah, that's not the star of David, pal, it's a reference to Cheech Wizard

  • @sleinfer Is it Cheech nazi , who plays the wicked ones ? anyway

  • @BOOOZB not the star of David bud. good job.

  • I think this movie is trying to tell us that Nazis were bad.

  • "I'm glad you changed your last name you sonofabitch..."

  • random WWII stock footage + shitty elf models = battle scene

    HOORAY!!!

  • So he spends his whole life advocating magic over technology but in the end, Avatar pulls out a gun and shoots his brother...

    Biggest. Cop-out. Ever

  • I like the wizard using the gun at the end, irony always deserve 5 stars.

The movie isn't worse than most 70's animation movies, it is no worse than crap. Yet It is somehow better than some of the crappy plain movies done today :S

  • @nong333 spoiler... :(

  • @nong333 Seriously?! It's irony. It's a statement about the kind of compromises made when one is older. It's a surprise. It's clever. It's funny! If you want predicable, by the numbers, boring third acts, good news. Disney, Dreamworks, and Pixar are pumping out plenty of stuff you'll love. More the pity no one learned from it. Sigh.

  • @MikeDisa001 So basically you think it's good that in the end the hero shows us that there is no higher morality. That all the preaching by the hero was utterly meaninglessness. that all the drama built up was for nothing. that in the end the hero had to stoop to the villain's level.

Actually, no, I think the it was even lower than that. At least the bag guy was honest and had no illusions about what he was. the hero on the other hand was faking the whole time. ironic? yes. tasteful? no.

  • @nong333

Never forget that sacrifice can involve going against your morals. This doesn't undermine higher morality, it's just that the shit hit the fan. :D

  • @nong333 Lol... I'm glad to see that you still believe in integrity and honor. Don't be like Avatar. Don't compromise and don't change if you want to make the sort of statement you see absent in this movie.

  • @MikeDisa001 Agreed. And there were enough contradictions throughout the rest of the film to foreshadow this sort of thing, too. This definitely is about having a sense of humor, and understanding that black & white is not the way it works. Peace, as a character from the very beginning, shows us that this is a story about contradiction and gradience.

  • @nong333 I guess he wasnt able to kill him with his magic, so he used science

  • hitler was dead again, lol

  • what he meant by slut is there a minute she did something to be called like that? which time?

  • "Hitler was dead again."

    lulz

  • .....thats it? Just a few shots from a Luger? No big epic battle between two brothers? No final match with magic and explosions flying around everywhere? Just a shot from a Luger.........how.........epic. BlackWolf, the mighty evil wizard, commander of demonic and mutant armies.......killed from a few gun shots. Wow, now we all know just how .......'powerful' Avatar is. What a way to end a movie.

  • if i was avatar when he shot blackwolf, i woulda been like, "tupac bitch!"

  • The antihitler message falls on its face when it becomes apparent that the mutants are lesser beings.

  • @vernsi The only explanation I can think of for that is that the animators were attempting to show metaphorically how fascism and militarism have a dehumanising affect on people by demanding that they put aside human qualities such as compassion and rationality in favour of mindless slaughter instincts, but there certainly are some unfortunate implications here. It doesn't help either that several members of the evil horde appear to be film of Zulus with devil horns and red eyes painted on them.

  • What happened to the black queen

  • @tenshi415

she ran off and took her non-mutant son with her, i'd guess she went to a safer place

  • @tenshi415 i think she may of ran to a safe place to get alawy from it all besides blackwolfs child cord always take his place and kill acatar for what he did to his father

  • That.. is sick..

  • They used film from Alexander Nevsky when they made this, didn't they?

  • OMG I'm tripn on acid

  • 2:30 is my favorite part of the movie. I used to rent it from Blockbuster just to watch that scene over and over and over again.

  • BEST BATTLE SCENE EVAR.

  • ending part ? , like yeah it says 8 of 8 but there is more to the film than that

  • Anyone see this movie as an anti-war and environmentalist animated movie? i do and i thin Bakshi made a statement with it's message

  • Baski ain't really my cup of tea. But I can see why some people would like this flick.

  • @Kanakaberaka

....but apparently it was rated PG XD

  • @mononokehimenausicaa

I know. Does this movie remind you of a cross between Ferngully and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (aka Warriors of the Wind)? same sort of environmentalist animated movie like those two and also post-apocalyptic Sci-fi fantasy like Nausicaa. There's even a bit of Avatar (James Cameron) and Fist of the North Star in this movie. In fact James Cameron is a fan of this cult classic and was one of the used elements for Avatar and you can see why.

  • avatar...called blackwolf an s.o.b...BUT THEY HAVE THE SAME MOM?!

  • @mononokehimenausicaa Well he did say that he changed his last name, and therefor forefit his original name. x]

  • @mononokehimenausicaa i think avatar belived blackwolf was dead to him and never fogave him for all the shit he did

  • @mononokehimenausicaa she must of been one bitch

  • Hah wow I've been looking for this for years. Remember seeing it once as a kid and being well impressed with all the violence.

  • @barrybrien82 Same here!

  • @barrybrien82

Me too, i'm your age as well and i saw this when i was 5 years old 24 years ago when i saw it with my big brothers on video when they rented it and it shocked me with it's graphic animated violence. I rewatched it when i was 14 and blew me away as i even got myself a copy of it, became one of my favorite animated movies. Do you also remember Warriors of the Wind (the 1985 US New World Pictures butchered dub of Nausicaa)? that was another cool 80's adult animated movie.

  • @Johnlindsey289

No never heard of it, but I did watch Starchaser: The Legend of Orin last week. Another 80s animated movie with lots of hilarious violence in it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Johnlindsey289 WARRIORS OF THE WIND! That was the earliest movie I can remember watching, I still have the VHS in it's box with no damage safe on a shelf. Glad they restored everything in the new dvd release of Nausicaa but I've spent so many years associating the voices in Warriors and imprinting them with the characters I can't watch the dvd in English, it just sounds all wrong and weird.

  • @shadowwolf41

WOTW has been my childhood fave since 25 years ago when i was 4 years old when i rented it then had my parents buy it for me for my 5th birthday and also made myself a second copy taped off HBO the next year and bought a third one used when i was 10. I didn't realize it was a butchery until i saw the uncut fansub tape at age 15 and bought the soundtrack and manga as well, but still accepted WOTW and you can buy a DVD/VCR recorder to put WOTW on DVD and do you own the uncut movie?
