The first to do this imitation was Mickey Rooney in "Babes On Broadway" in 1940. Except he sang in his own voice and didn't lip-synch to a record. He also was the first to end the song by yelling, "Hey, Ma!"

Tom and Jerry did this too, in a cartoon, as did Bugs Bunny. As did Lucille Ball, on "I Love Lucy", and with her the record skipped and changed speed, as it does in this scene as well.

Bob Hope imitated Carmen with Bing Crosby singing in accompaniment, in one of their "Road" movies.

Yeah, I know just what you mean. This is one of the first Jerry Lewis\Dean Martin films that I had ever watched. When I was a little girl, my dad taped it for me and I wore it out, I watched it so much. Then one day I stick it in just to find that some how it had accidently been taped over. Luckly it wasnt completly taped over. I was crused though. Good thing it's on DVD now, I still have the tape. Lol.
