I completely agree with everything you said.... and that's my point: it represents a tiny part of our culture (just like rock, punk, pop, emo, ranchero, mariachi) but it's portrayed as a huge part of our culture like nachos, margaritas and cinco de Mayo, that's why I think it's embarrassing. Our culture is never well represented in the U.S.
