Best version of this classic TW song ... "it's memories that I'm stealing, but you're innocent when you dream' .. I always imagined that this is exactly how Charlie Bukowski would have sang - had he been able to sing and play the piano!! Wonderful stuff

@scitobor 'It's such a sad old feeling' ... Damien Rice and Leonard Cohen meet with the spirits of Alex Harvey and Ian Drury for a few jars ... I often pair this with Cohen's 'Closing Time', seems to be a fit ... :¬) The dreadfully wonderful Tom Waits, a man shaped from a lump of granite with a coal mine for a voice ... smouldering, warm and smokey. Perfect :-)

Remember this Bar Room version as it appeared on a 2 CD compilation "The Island Story 1962 - 1987 - 25th Anniversary" (US Version) ... which I bought from a tiny shop during a Hurricane Party, Tampa Bay Nov 91 ... our Cherry Red 63 Eldorado Biarritz was a nightmare Rent-a-Wreck reject , but the music was pure Rodeo Drive on a summers day ... Fittingly the car died outside a wreckers yard in Jacksonville, the music lives on :¬)
