I have both and prefer the hawk, its so open and natural, which in the end is way more powerful. People always want to look at the wow, but they only want to see the card that was changed with the hawk, which is easy to do.
@magiciandude yes, but if you say that the piece is something that IS familiar, then they will feel more comfortable. For example, you could say that the slide was a piece of your microwave and it is still radio active, and then you can preform the tranformation.
i agree with 98% of peep's on here !!..WOW 2.0 is nt all that!!.. why would u put this wierd space like "thing" on your deck??..HUM??..scrreeeeaaamm's gimmick..spec's are going to be more intrested in the gimmick than the deck!!..i personally would nt use this on the deck.. i dnt see the point in wow 2!!..soz..just my opinion.
Thanks Guys, Your Comments are really appreciated. So many of you have really valid points about Hawk & WOW. This week’s show will be uploaded on Wednesday.
Craig/David - you have so many ideas regarding how you could use Wow 2.0. How many of these suggestions come with the effect? Come to that does anyone know of a "Getting the most of your Wow wallet?" booklet or anything, for the original?
Still loving the reviews by the way. Keep them coming!
Magicator - you can get an ungimmicked wallet which you pass out afterwards for inspection. I know it all comes down to where you stand on gimmicks but Wow gets such fantastic reactions for me and only very rarely do people say "But it must be just some clever wallet". It's such a simple looking device that even though they know it's some kind of gimmick they don't seem to mind as it just seems *so* visually magical.
The Wow gimmick is still a piece of ariticial Star Trek plastic as far as I'm concerned. Introduce that during a routine and you will look like someone using a prepared button push piece of prop. Not natural. Not impromptu. And worse of all.... it is not examinable, and since it screams gimmick, people will ask you for it.
Wow! I like it. This is one of the great reviews about Wizard product that I've ever meet. I'm going to check out your other videos. Thanks for your sharing.
Great job on the reviews; your site is like Consumer Reports for magicians. If I might make a suggestion: it would be great to see you perform more of the tricks utilizing in focus, jump-cut free camerawork; you know, what we DON’T get from many of the promotional videos. For instance, I would love to see the audience perspective of The Hawk 2.0 so that I might decide for myself whether it was worth it for me. Thanks again, and keep up the great work.
Good reviews. I really like The Hawk, but I do agree with both opinions on it. I'm an amateur and I think I will use it quite a bit, but if I were a professional I don't know how practical it would be.
However, that WOW card looks pretty great. I'll definitely be getting that!!!
A) That hard move isn't required. Especially not for lay people.
B) You can alter the gimmick that comes with it to make the stealth hawk. You don't have to make a new gimmick from scratch.
for WOW, I feel like it isn't a great trick because it requires an unfamiliar prop to the spectators. When you pull something out that the spectator is unfamiliar with, it automatically screams "GIMMICK" which screams "LACK OF SKILL"
The hawk has its benefit because no one knows its in the deck
@magiciandude By Wow! you can create a presentation to take heat off of the sleeve so it doesn't scream "Gimmick!" or let alone talk. Or you can let them examine an ungimmicked sleeve and then switch it out.
I suppose I just prefer using things that the audience is very familiar with.
I just feel like having to use an unfamiliar prop already makes it so it can't be the second best card trick ever. The invisible deck is great because it's unassuming.
Personal preference I suppose! :D I've got nothing against the sleeve.
Good point though. The heat is almost never on the sleeve (I used one for quite a while :D)
Hey Guys, thanks for the review. But you forgott an important point to mention and this is the LUCKY CARD from the HAWK, which has no angle problems at all.
