  • DUDE!!!!! why didnt i find this vid along time ago!!! i took mine to a local game store to get fixed and it costed me about 50$

  • cheers dude! your video was very helpfull,Thanks!

  • THANKS SO MUCH! i was actually thinking my wii might have been busted until i tried this, you are awesome

  • i've just followed this and it has worked a treat :) but.......the runner keeps popping off each time i put the disc in.it's the very same one as in this vid,and when i put the disc in it goes in so far and i can then push the runner back in place and the disc goes in no problem.what can i do to stop this from happening and why do you think it is happening?

  • i think this is exactly what's at fault with my sons wii.it makes all the right noises but the disc goes nowhere.i'll strip it down and have a look and hopefully the problem will be solved.

  • Cheers boss, had the same problem, just had to push that small gear back into place. Saved me from giving it in to repair. Thanks.

  • Thanks a bunch, I've been fixing/repairing/hacking my Wii for days.. this was the last thing I needed to do :D

  • my wii isn't trying to accept disks at all, so I opened it up and saw that the metal things that lock the disk to prevent it from getting out was stuck so any tips on how to get them unjammed or remove them completly

  • Hey just wanted to say thanks for the video, had no clue what could be wrong with my nephews system till i found this video and it was as simple as the rubber band popped off, but saved me some cash from having to send it away.. ..thanks again

  • I also had a white piece of plastic fall out. I have since fixed both issues. For the white plastic piece... if you position the dvd drive with the front loading slot facing you and you follow the top sensor ribbon cable to where it goes into the drive on the left, the white piece goes there. You will notice on the white piece that there is a notch where the ribbon cable goes by it. A little bit of deductive reasoning will guide your way with the positioning of the piece.

  • I found out where the part came from!

  • Hey i alos need to know where the white small plastic part goes any lne know???

  • Hi buddy any chance you could help me locate the position of the white plastic part you have on the table next to the screw . mine fell out when i took it apart.

on your video it has disappeared when you reassembled the top half and i dont have a clue. its been driving me nuts.

mine reads the disc momentary then stops. i think my problem is with the worm drive motor not taking the laser all the way and missreads the disc.

    many thanks

  • OMG I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!! i want for like 4 days and then it stars to work but I get sick of just sittin' around and not playing BUT NOW I CAN PLAY IT IN LIKE 5 MIN'

    I FREAKIN LOVE YA!!!!

  • thx so much, this fixed mine within 30 mins, great job, youtube needs ppl like u :D

  • Thanks for posting. Mine stopped taking in the discs after my two year-old daughter tried putting in two games at the same time. I had it back up and working within twenty minutes.

  • Easiest way to fix it: Buy a new one =P

  • Superb tutorial - I had this problem and fixed my Wii thanks to this guide. The cog literally "popped" back into place with a gentle push, and instantly fixed the mechanism. Thank you ever so much!

  • My wii doesn´t sound at all. Won´t swallow. I think it came dead. It´s brand new. :s

  • @TheMatiasw If its brand new there should be a warranty with it from Nintendo. Its a shame that the console is dead right out of the box.

  • @TheMatiasw If you bought it brand new you are entitled to a full refund or a replacement from your game store or Nintendo (ONLY a replacement no refunds from Nintendo :( )

  • ive notice something every wii that gets messed up is the white one

  • ive notice something every that gets messed up is the white one

  • it appears a gear broke off on my nephews wii. is there anything else i can do to fix it?

  • @w9s1r7 A gear broke off? It depends which gear broke exactly. You can always buy a new drive and switch out the broken drive which would cost around 50 dollars.

  • Thanks a bucnh bro.

My Wii wasn't accepting discs so I took it apart and looked at the gears, it looked like they were all on but I pushed them all just to be sure and when I put my wii back together it is now accepting discs again.

  • @maxsteele77 Your welcome, glad I could help.

  • Thanks, you saved my sons life.....

  • thank you for the helpful video
