Wow I'm glad I found this. Someone suggested CG after I watched Death Note a second time around and wanted more of something like it.

I agree with @AdvertChild98, Death Note was a crime thriller with a touch of fantasy. Yes, the entire series was based around a "magical" book, but that was the only element of fantasy in the series. The schemes, and ways to apprehend the killer were all of modern day.

I was told Monster was a good replacement for DN too. So should I watch CG or Monster?

Why Bandai even bothered to stream this anime on Youtube channel in the first place? Is there any anime fans who hasn't heard or seen Code Geass already? This title along with Gundam series are extremely popular in the world. Their brand name practically can promote themselves. Instead of wasting time promoting titles needless to be promoted, why not stream some titles that are less successful in sales and need more promotions like Ghost Slayer Ayashi, Toward the Terra, G Gundam etc.?

@classical715 I do find CG has more re-playable value than DN. Mainly because CG has more mixture of genre thrown into the work like mecha, action, romance, comedy, supernatural, fanservice etc, while Death Note is more of a crime thriller and drama with a little bit of supernatural genre.

Lots of shows will have parallels to other shows that they are constantly compared to... (Castle and Bones, anyone?) But that DOESN'T mean every character needs and EQUAL SIGN after their name.

You realize that KALLEN is a strong, badass soldier and that Misa was essentially Light's Harley Quinn, right? And, while Light's father was a moral and ethical police officer, Lelouch's father was a psychotic tyrant. Those characters have literally nothing in common.

Honestly, the only similarity between Death Note and Code Geass is that the lead characters are both extremely smart schemers. The show's have completely different tones and settings. They are almost nothing alike

I'll confess Amuro doesn't fit as well, since Suzaku almost certainly a deconstruction of Kira Yamato from Gundam Seed.

L's strength is his intelligence wheras suzaku's is his ability to pilot a knightmare. the shows may be similar in some respects, but in others they can be quite different, but all I'm saying is that suzaku plays L's roll as the person who is constantly up against the protagonist, regularly sees him, not knowing that he is zero, and is constantly portrayed aginst the protagonist.
