Puppies need to realize that there is not going to be someone there at *all* times. Puppies whine because they are not used to being alone. They need to learn that it's okay to be independent.
Please educate yourself before you say stuff. I feel sorry for your puppy... It's bad when puppies are catered all day long. They need to be somewhat independent .

Puppies will whine and cry to get attention. If she catered to that dog, it would soon have severe separation anxiety. Then you'd have a real problem because then she'd have a puppy that is demanding. Puppies are our friends, I wouldn't want a dog with separation anxiety... would you?
Thats mean! Ok, I know that she had to stay in there! But, the poor thing is trying to climb out! You could at least pet her, and talked to her, so she'd wag her tail and calm down! Rather then watch her struggle and cry!
Emma, Lighten up :) She was fine I assure you. This is called tough love, you have to crate puppies in order to potty/house train them, but I preferred the play pen because it was more open and larger for her. Petting only rewards that behavior. But It didn't take long for her to calm down and understand she needed to stay there while not supervised. Now that Holly is house trained she thinks she owns the house and I just happened to live here too ;)

Thats just mean, I put my shih tzuin the play pen and if he barks i let him out cuz i dont want him to feel like he is being rejected
