  • like portugese

  • like Spanish

    like Italian

    some: like English

  • igriega means Greek 'I' in spanish

  • the "y" is a little difficult

  • i love that

  • vive le français !!! bon courage à ceux qui tente de l'apprendre

  • wow! I didn't know the french alphabet sounds so close to portuguese alphabet.

Portuguese doesn't have "K", "W" or "Y", but the pronunciation of the letters is the same! I wold say that "H" in Portuguese sounds more like "Aga" (the "As" are 'open' like "sofA"), and "J" sounds like "Jóta" (O like "jOgging"; and the same type of "A") and, for last, "X" in portuguese sounds like "xis" (in a accent that doesn't exists in english).

    Bye!!

and I'm Sorry about my bad english... ;/

  • there are a lot of languages with same root like spanish portugues french italian all of thema are know like romance languages

  • i'm learning french online, and i'm starting with the alphabet.

this video is very helpful... but how do you pronounce the letter Y?

  • Mm this is how I would write it: eee grec

  • like e greg then put it togather

  • the Y letter is hilarious!

  • Why??? In Spanish letter Y is igriega, that's simular to french.

  • because both languages have latins roots

  • sounds like spanish

  • Not remotely.

  • French is a Romance language along with Spanish. The Alphabets do have their similarities. In fact, aside from pronuciation of g, j, u, and r, the languages are almost identical.

  • lol, it's amazing the way you heard our language.

Yes it's similar to spanish and english because they're all coming from "Latin" ^^ so we have the same base - "roots??".

For the G = J in english and J = G in english for the pronounciation.

Now how to explain "R" it's might be difficult .. -_- like the word "Hair" but don't push on the "H"

je sais pas si vous êtes d'accord avec moi pour les français qui passent par ici ?

  • English does not come from Latin. English is a Germanic language. About the only thing Latin in English is a few prefixes and suffixes.

  • although english is not a romance language, its vocabulary is about 30 per cent latin-based, and an additional 30% french-based, so there does exist a large similarity

  • English has borrowed words and phrases from just about every language regardless of origin, so the modern version could be said to be multi-lingual. I was merely referring to its beginnings. But I understand what you mean.

  • i think i found the difference between G and J.. G is like Zshii and J is like Zshee??

  • very similar to spanish and english

  • thats a rumour!

  • french and english are actualy very similar except the accent

  • not rly.

  • yeah for english people its kind of hard to learn french i know the grammar is horrible but for french its really easy to learn english and to remember the vocabulary as the english language is made of a lot of french words. and english grammar is not easy but not that complicated it's like in this sentence i just made it contains at least 7 french words or words with french roots

  • H - USHHH xD

  • L and R sounds the same to me. Is there any differences in pronouncing these two?

  • L is pronounced "el"

    R is pronounced "air"

  • We all noticed the Y egg'greg.

    and Q is Qu.

  • because it's an "I" => Greek (country) ^^

  • ha ha Y gets me all the time :(

  • this sounds like a mixture of the spanish and english alphabet. though spanish does not suprise me much as it is a romantic language also.

  • thanks for that Captain Obvious!

  • Hows the z sound like i cant hear it :O

  • zed

  • In Spanish you can call the letter Y in two different ways : "I griega" ("greek E")and "Ye".

  • How is it stupid? « i grec », or otherwise, "greek i".

  • like you

  • thaaanks =)

  • what the HELL!

  • aghh 'Y' kills me.

  • Ha ha ha! it sounds funny!

  • super! j'etudierai avec votre videos. merci

  • Cool

    Merci ;)
