  • lol a beefcake in his underwear

  • great three mullets.

  • LMFAO!!!! Bobby Heenan: "Jannetty tried to dive through the window to escape!"

  • Shawn looks like he should be in "The Lost Boys".

  • The scene in 5:40 and Bobby's commentary in it was the main thing I remember about this segment.

  • wow is that actually blood i see? :p

  • This was when Marty Jannetty became the marty jannetty of the rockers hahah

  • This happened at the Freeman Colliseum in San Antonio

  • Jannety tried to dive through the window to escape

  • @peterversionone HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, one of Bobby Heenan's BEST comments..

  • @Trygonisking and Gorilla was gold "ARE YOU BLIND?"

  • @NY32986 About as blind as you are deaf..!! lol, Just joking, but what we were talking about is not the scene, but a comment Bobby Heenan made trying to cover for HBK. When Bobby was an announcer, he was one of the BEST with some FANTASTIC mike skills..

  • @Trygonisking I know, Heenan was great with covering up for the heels, with the Exception of the nWo where he actually didn't support the Heels (More-so Hogan).

  • @NY32986 Yeah. But with the NWO, it was because Hogan was their leader. You gotta go back to the old AWA days about Heenan & Hogan. Heenan was Hogan's second Manager & got Hogan really going in the fed (Hogan began his career as a heel). Hogan publicly fired Heenan & became a face for the first time. Ever since, the two have always been at odds.

  • @Trygonisking That's why I said "More So Hogan" because when the nWo came back in 99 w/Hart & Jarrett and them. He was Pro nWo.

  • @NY32986 Exactly. Also, notice the moment Savage & Nash formed the WolfPac, he jumped on their bandwagon until the Monday Nitro when Nash laid down for Hogan, then they reformed the NWO. After that, it was back to slamming them.

  • "i just knew he was gonna do that!" like the annoying people at the movies

  • Where was this filmed at? What arena?

  • When Marty went through the glass window i was terrified.

  • I remember watching this as a kid and i was destroyed watching it. I HATED Shawn Michaels for years after this. Years.

  • The Leather Jacket is always a sign of a heel turn haahaha.

  • I like that there just happened to conveniently be an extra camera shooting outside of the window. Oh, days of markdom.

  • FLOWING MULLET!

  • HA I remember seeing this back when I was 12

  • bobby the brain is the funniest commentator ever!

  • Its better to watch this on the WWE omg DVD. It's hilarious

  • ugh shawn michaels, wth is going on up top?!

  • The guy in the red shirt looks like a skinny version of Batista

  • This is one of the best hell turn in WWE history.

  • Gorilla and The Brian were the best.

  • Awesome leather jacket, brah.

  • "Oh, I knew he was going to do that!"

  • Mullet Galore!!!!

  • The Brain's commentary once Michaels did the deed was STELLAR. Funny as hell!!

  • i rememeber watching this 19 yrs ago

  • God I miss The Brain and Monsoon =(

  • @justsomeguy11 lmao

  • Wish wwe would go back to stuff like this. Not all this PG Shit they have now.

  • @charlescooper51 WWF was PG in '93...

  • @nikebee Well you know what i mean.

  • Brutus Beefcake looks like a more feminine Nicole Bass!!!

  • those tights are border line gay.

  • @Justs0MEGUY11 - Fuck border line...that's gay as shit. *lol*

  • "talkin' that mess to me, homie you better be ready, i'll put your head through the glass like marty janetty"

"tryin to step to us would be your biggest mistake, catch a hot one, and chop your wig like beefcake"

  • How on God's green earth was Beefcake allowed to get away with those outfits?

  • @alexrgs2 yeah . . . he should have left those outfits back in the 80's! . . .

  • this was actually marty's idea.. because he wanted to be a singles competitor. it back fired obviously.

  • Bobby heenan absolutely made this moment

  • SIMMONS!

  • this promo was the beginning of hbk

  • The beginning of HBK

  • "He don't need Jannetty! I told you that off and on."

  • Comment removed

  • '92 when the mullet was king

  • Jannety tried to dive through the window to escape !!

  • business in the front, party in the back lol

  • that was the MEANEST Super Kick I have EVER seen

  • I don't think anybody has had more heel turns than Michaels.

  • @MrPvtdan Kane and the big show say hi

  • alol that Beefcake left immediately after they made up.

  • After this, Shawn Michaels went on to make many histories while Marty Jannetty was soon forgotten.

  • How many people thought @ this point that Shawn Michaels career would turn out the way it did?

  • at 5:16 you can see Michaels cue Jannetty to set up for the superkick

  • Monsoon busting a nut all over the Brain at @ 5:22

  • I love the Brain

  • This was taped the same night as "Tuesday in Texas" the month earlier, it was the long night of taping.

  • the brain is funny as hell lol

  • killer mullets

  • the only thing that even remotely rivals the epic mullets in this video is bobby the brain heenan and his awesome color commentary.

  • Damn, I forgot that Marty Jannetty was so jacked!

  • almost 20 years later still can't believe it ...

  • It was PG back then and they bled now cause of these kids they can't bleed anymore all i got to say Bullshit.

  • You're right Bobby, Shawn sure didn't need Janetty.

  • I have to question the credentials of anyone who calls himself "The Barber" and walks around with a haircut like that...

  • This was one of the first times wrestlers came out and somewhat broke kayfabe with a shoot-esque promo, at least in the mainstream, as I'm sure it was done in Indy promotions or the nwa prior. The WWF was so popular at the time, that everyone who breathed call recall this promo. You mention this era, people say, "remember when Shawn Michaels through Marty Jannetty through the Barber Shop window?". It'll never be as good as it once was...

  • shawn could beat anyone in the UFC with the SUPERKICK!

  • And Jannetty was the talented one..

  • Ed Boulder's Barber Shop

  • I happen to know for a fact that the exact day this segment was first aired on January 11 1992, the most gruesome crime in Indiana history was happening. A twelve year old girl named Shanda Sharer was brutally tortured and murdered on the early morning of January 11 1992 in Madison Indiana. Isn't it interesting how when this segment was being filmed live wherever it was, in Madison Indiana, the most gruesome murder in the history of that state was taking place?

    Ironic!

    ~Mr. Make Believe

  • @HoldOnToYourDream January 12 was when this aired.

  • hey was shawn michaels young then because his voice sounds different

  • @elyssalover21 in his mid 20s.

  • I thought Jesse Katsopolis and Joey Gladstone were best friends forever.

  • hahah i liked it when HBK said "chicks dig me" xD

  • Was there a worse era for pro wrestling than the very early 90s? I'll give you a hint: No

  • "Jannetty tried to dive through the window to escape! You see that? What an act of Cowardism!"

    lmao!

  • damn I remember watchin' this on tv, I was heartbroken...lol

  • I remember playing wrestlers and my older brother who had darker hair always wanted to be Shawn Miichaels, I was like whatevr, I'll be Marty, dude we're the rockers. This happened we were both pissed. I was like 7-9. Look at it now. Shawn Michaels is very successful, Marty tried a comeback and flopped. F'D up man!!!

  • You could tell as soon as Shawn entered, his facial expression had changed and he was going heel.

  • Wow! Now that's a nasty 90's Mullet on Beefcake!

  • And from that day forwerd...

Shawn Michaels became.... THE HEART BREAK KID! SHAWN MICHAELS!

And Marty Jannetty became.... wall just Marty Jannetty.

  • ''Shawn Michaels' got an attitude problem.''

    ''SHHHH! Shut up....''

    LOL

  • "Jannetty tried to dive thru the window to escape!!!" lmao

  • The worst part of the entire video is the Barber's pants.

  • The Brain was the best announcer. Loved him. The KING is OK, but I loved the Brain

  • @Sone1ne yeah dude the best anouncer!!!

  • At least they had a camera conveniently set on the other side of the window. "My God! Thats Bill Simmons music!!!!"

  • Simmons!

  • Bill Simmons brought me here.

  • Comment removed

  • Jannetty sucks on the mic.

  • i think in the 80's it was required to always start your interview with "well, let me tell you something [interviewer]"

  • hated to see it as a kid, but it had to happen. and SIMMONS!

  • Top 3 WWE moments in history...

    3 Austin 3:16

    2 Rockers Break up

    1 CM Punk I'm a Heyman guy

  • Marty Jannety was so damn dry....

  • This clip is so full of classic Heenan! I seriously remember this moment as if it were yesterday, I was so shocked when it all happened...I was such a mark. Oh yeah, Simmons!

  • If you look closely, you can see that LeBron traveled.

  • Business in the front, party in the back! Simmons!

  • I had that issue of the mag when I was a kid. AT the time I could not understand why the Rockers would break up, they were awesome.

    Also, Simmons.

  • SIMMONS!!!

  • No wonder Jannetty got forgotten by everyone. The guy was plain flavored yogurt.

  • Wrestling's glory days.....

  • I remember this, epic event in wrestling! haha The Rockers were awesome, they were one of the first tag teams to do athletic moves that are normal today

  • The best is when The Brain said "Jannetty tried to jump throught the window to escape!"

  • @thahard Best thing Brain says has to be "They need each other, one without the other isn't any good"

"I just knew he was going to do that!! HE doesn't need Jannetty"!! It's halarious.. I was around 12 when this happened and was always a huge fan of the Brain's comentary

  • @ 5:52 kids are scared out of their minds

  • Oh... I knew It! Gotta love Heenan

    SIMMONS

  • haaaaaaaaaa you know what makes this video great. Bobby's and Mean Gene commentary...at 5:43 "Jannety tried to dive through the window to escape" Classic

  • @psl1122000

Yeah, but it's Gorilla Monsoon, not Mean Gene.

  • Those are some messed up pants that Brutus is wearing...

  • this is the first memory i have of wwf, not a bad start

  • One of the all time great moments in wrestling history

  • 5:46-5:52 Heenan kills me!!

    LMAO!!

  • 3:24 little did he know that his voice would end up like that for the rest of his life

  • Defenestration X

  • i was 3 years old when this happen

  • "jannety tried to dive through the window to escape!" vintage heenan,

tatanka turning on luger was good stuff, but i mean, they are just a footnote in wrestling. and yes i remember this as well. and yes heenan was commentating for, hollywood hogan's turn as well. good lord we are old

  • why would shawn do that and they just made up. They were good tag teams

  • you traitor

  • I remember this like it was yesterday.... I was heartbroken :'( why Shawn, why? lol

  • @alexrgs2 you forgot about the undertaker . He also never left wwe for any company since joining wwe.

  • listen closely at 3:46 to 3:51 u can hear one of the guys say ''shawns got attidude problems'' then another guys says ''shhh quiet''. lol

  • I never would have thought back in the day that either of The Rockers would be anything but popular mid-card guys. Great vision on the part of the WWF/E to see the potential Shawn Michaels had as a solo wrestler. He was the one guy who never left for WCW or other promotions and really carried the company through its darkest period in the 1990s.

  • This may just be the greatest WWF storyline moment ever. Everybody remembers this. EVERY. BODY.

  • shawn's voice has gotten very scratchy over the years.

    it was very clear here..

  • the old lady wants herself some rockers,

  • I remeber this in the 5th grade.. and that magizine i read back in 92..

  • lol@6:30..prelude of the BootyMan?

  • when mullets were cool.

  • the birth of a star

  • the amount of mullet action in this video is just pure awesome

  • @TheLL5572 I know right?!? I never had a mullet back in the day so am tempted to grow one now. I wanna bring back the mullet!

  • I would have done it too whose with me! lol

  • Yay

  • And that's how the legend was born HeartBreatKid

  • @bolide234 Brutus had the most fucked up haircut at this time....dam its bad.

  • i wonder is their still the sad amount of ppl think its still real , it amazes me how serious ppl take it

  • I'm not believing that they "almost lost" to Barry Horowitz and that other jobber around 2:15

  • was that real glass? the pieces hanging on the top coulda fell right through him and killed him

  • @lucasscott458 it's fake glasses! it's called candy glass

  • H.B.K. killed the Rockers.

  • ONE of tha SADDEST MOMENTS I EVER EXPERINCED "LIVE"! Truthfully, I NEVER GOT OVER IT! IT STILL EFFECTS ME TO THIS DAY!

  • career parallels: The Rockers (wrestling) vs WHAM! (music)

    see on youtube:

    interview wham! everything she wants

  • I recognize Shawn Michaels but who are those other two? Were they wreslters? Wow they look dumb. Wrestling sure was crap back then. I'm glad it's improved over the years.

  • @JamesonBondy The guy he kicked was Marty Jennetty. These two were the Rockers, one of the best tag teams of the 80's. This was their official breakup. The interviewer was Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. He's actually Hulk Hogan's cousin in real life. At any rate, this happened in December 1991 and was pretty intense for the time. Shocked the hell outta me as a kid.

  • @Antrizzle2009 That kick was pretty hard looked like he felt that one...also when Beefcake comes out at the end...he has the blood stuff in his hand and turns his back to the camera momentarily while he presses the "Blood Bubble" against his forehead...then you see Marty bloodied as it drips down...they burst it just above the hairline for the trickle down effect.

  • @JamesonBondy bless...

  • @JamesonBondy improved?? lol if anything it was better than today crap they give us

  • Man this was like some Jerry Springer type shit.

I got lost in the story and it seemed real lol

  • is it me or is beekcake hung like a horse

  • The reason behind the breakup is that Marty Jannety got placed on house arrest for several days..I believe like 90 days so this was a good way to get him off of t.v. for several months.

  • wow, get the doctor

  • All 3 of them have Mullets! :-D

  • wow the first wwf / wwe clip on youtube with no john cena comment look kids were a part of the show back then did they ruin it no did they need to swear no most wwe fans now all the do is bitch and complain about everything for example john cena cant wrestle but you didnt hear any of that when he had the thug gimmick as soon as he turned into hero cena all the sudden he forgot how to wrestle

  • @THAxTRUTH508 I have to disagree on that. You would hate somebody too that was force fed to you as much as Cena is. I NEVER liked Cena, and this PG bullshit on WWE.

  • @therealphlatlyne

Why don't you cry a little more. Maybe your tears will form a pool and you can float your ass on over to Europe and hang out with all the weak-ass French folk. You might enjoy that more.

  • @FrizzKid05 WTF Are you talking about? What does you response have to do with anything?

  • @therealphlatlyne

You said that Jannetty is better than Cena...and that's not at all true because you can't even compare the two.

  • @FrizzKid05 First off I never said that Jannetty was better than Cena, I said that I hate Cena and the fact that we as WWF/E fans are being force fed Cena all the time.

  • @therealphlatlyne

To you, I say, "GET OVER IT!" Cena is better than he gets credit for. Unfortunately, he also seems to be the ambassador of the change over to PG because he was the biggest star in at the time. Michaels was good, but his career was waning and he was hurting. HHH was constantly involved in other story-lines, so they didn't have him. Orton still hadn't developed yet, and Batista wasn't anywhere near Cena's level of popularity. WHO ELSE was going to take it on. It's a new era.

  • @FrizzKid05 This much I know, but I STILL stick by my original statement. I do not like Cena nor this bullshit PG era. I do have a right to my opinion. I seen Cena wrestle in OVW and he is not all that good in the ring. He finisher is basically a Fireman's Carry. Only thing he is good for is pushing products, due to the fact he has that look. And if you listen to the crowd reaction when Cena comes out, its only WOMEN AND KIDS cheering for him. So no I will not get over it.

  • the beginning of shawn micheals.

  • two bad the Rockers never won tag team championship together before they break up

  • Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon: Best color commentary in pro wrestling history!

  • Real men wear mullets!

  • don't be a marty jannetty!

  • FUCKIN' OVERKILL AT 2:59! FUCK YEAH!

  • 6:29 WTF is brutus dressed like? Why the fuck would a fully grown man dress in such a bizarre manner?

  • The Rockers r the best tag team of all time 

  • @alyssawwefanatic72

    erm.., no they're not.
