E 85 sale is being control by the big oil company's! Ethanol from Brazil and EL Salvador coming to Texas and California is being paid at $0.58 a gallon free of tax. and at the pump is on 15% lower than the price of gasoline. I am all for E85 but still the price should be lower than just 15% under regular gasoline. E85 is clean and help your engine run better with more power and that is just the best part.
My ranger can run E85 but I never bothered before. But last week just for shits and giggles, I filled up halfway with it to see what would happen. My car hasn't run that smooth in years. Today I filled it all the way with E85, and I am very pleasantly surprised. The knocks are completely gone and so is the rough idling. It also has alot more pep to it when I step on the gas. I'm a believer.
Put 5 gallons of E-85 into a standard engine NOT set up for Ethanol, and the balance of the tank filled on regular. NO check engine light or issues. More HP, knocked half a second off my 0 to 60, knocked emissions down to such clean levels the inspector thought it wasn't running. I'm figuring my ratio is about E-30 right now which means ANY car can run up to a 30% blend with no problem.
check out dave blume...he's the guru on the subject! i've been running my 93' v-8 dakota pickup on five gallons gas and fifteen on ethanol....runs great! over 60%...you can do the math :)
for one thing....gas is NOT cheaper! through tax subsidies...the gas we buy actually costs 9-10 dollars a gallon. We're getting robbed....and they like to pretend we're getting cheap gas. The U.S. gets the cheapest gas in the world though....minus the middle east.

i got a 94 silverado and i put e85 in it mixed with a lil gas like 5gal e85 2gal reg and i hope it makes my truck run better
