yeah just twist and pull the leaves off. If you cut it can rot. This guy is making it a lot harder than it needs to be. Also the leaves can be brown and broken up it will still grow
why dont u just twist it off an pul the leaves down intill u see roots? i have done it tht way for years and it works u did a lot of work for nothing?

This translation is from google translate because I do not speak good English. I live in Serbia, former Yugoslavia and I speak Serbian and fourth years I have study Spanish. I planted pineapple before 4 months of Flowerpots and nothing happens even begins to dry. It is planted on its rules. Should I pluck the leaves, which are dry? Unaprd grateful for your reply.
thanks for explaning it so well! i have a mini garden in a greenhouse and i must try this, i think the plant itselft acuialy looks good too! thanks you rock!
I have 12 fairly strong plants growing for 2 months now. The problem that I just realized is that I live in North Texas, planted them in-ground & have severe cold winters. Do you know of a way to protect them from cold weather?
Even easier... twist the top off. Pluck off bottom 1/2 inch of leaves. Let dry for a few days. Stick it in a pot of dirt. Water occasionally, otherwise leave it alone. Let it grow for a couple years. Use apples/calcium carbide to make it flower. Wait another 6 months for the fruit to ripen. Pick. Eat. Meanwhile, remove any sucker and slip plants that are produced and pot those to grow more pineapple. These are not at all difficult to grow.
Yeah, it doesn't matter where it's cut I just pull the bottom leaves off and set it in some water. Water level is irrelevent as long as the plant is in the water.
SIgh, another video with people starting it off the hard way. All that cutting etc. Buy a Pineapple, grab very firmly on the crown, hold the fruit with the other hand and TWIST. It will come off perfectly, only needing just one cut to encourage rooting and to remove fruit. Pull off about an inch of leaves Put in water until you have about 2 inches of roots (change the water daily). Pot stones on the bottom, then perlite soil mix, with no fertilizer. Wait for it to grow. Water it every two weeks.
Should the pineapple be green when you're doing this?

His knife wasn't even sharp, it took way to much sawing for a "sharp" blade.

I liked your video, but I want to buy that knife sharper. That was a great demo to sell that sharpener. Thanks for all the information.

If I'm growing it indoors, how big should the pot be? And what temperature does it need?
We actually planted one like two years ago, it still grows, but it doesn't fruit, is there any way to MAKE it fruit?
By the way does the plant die after fruiting?
Evaldas521 2 years ago
drop an apple core down into the centre. theres some chemical that helps it fruit. give it a go. good luck
