No you don't, I guess thats why there was a mass riot in Montreal after Guns N Roses turned up late on August 8 1992, which the authorities had a had time controlling.
@SHADOWCLONE177 DSOtM was number 21 last week. Amazing how a band that broke up 16 years ago has two albums currently charting. (The Wall is in the 130's)
that's one of the things I like about the floyd. they all have class as musicians. not like all the others who have to do really disturbing unneccessary live crap in order to get attention. they focus strictly on the music but add a little theatre to jazz up that music and create a story. I think they're the only band that ever succeeded in doing that. but that's my opinion anyway.
In my opinion the first albums were very powerful. Ummagumma and A Saucerful of Secrets had very aggressive sounds. Ummagumma is not so easy album to get used to, but it has very fine moments nonethless.
amazing how no matter how hard they tried, everyone did and will always attach the floyd directly to none of the things that the floyd actually represented. I myself didnt see it or understand it anyway until later in my life. Floyd is Life! *****

Roger saying that they'd "hung around for a bit longer" meant that Pink Floyd had achieved a pinnacle with "Dark Side". They'd reached the point that all artisit's strive for and gotten the recognition that they'd deserved. In all truth, they could have broken up then and still had a full career.
hung around?! if roger waters refers to wish you were here and animals as "hanging around",i guess hes a lot more modest than people give him credit for!
1943- September 15, 2008 Richard Wright. It's a shame, Everyone in Pink Floyd was an inspiration. Another member of the driving force has died. I thought I'd never have to say wish you were here to another band member from the dead. This has boughten deep sorrow. I'm hoping that Roger, Nick, and David do a show dedicated to Mr. Wright. I really hoped that Pink Floyd would someday settle their differences and hit it off. Richard Wright RIP, peace
Pink Floyd were a combination of Roger Waters conceptual visions and basic songwriting, David Gilmour's revolutionary guitar style and musical grasp, Rick Wright's hauntingly subtle but beautiful keyboards and Nick Mason's simple but apt drumming style. Pink Floyd minus Roger Waters wasn't the same because they lost his lyrical and conceptual offerings. Roger wrote most of The Wall, but he didn't perform it all. And Berlin 1990 is weak compared to the Pink Floyd version.
Roger: "That was it...then we kind of hung around for many years after that, but really we kind of done it then."

And since you are only twenty, you would not know about Pink Floyd if the contributions, both musically and conceptually, of Roger Waters, had not developed the way they did.
