in an interview with Mark Stein in the early '80s I read once, he said "without Vanilla Fudge, there would not have been a Yes or Deep Purple" and he may have even said Led Zeppelin. Bold statement but to some degree that is true.
@didymus46 my brother came home from Vietnam in 1967 with some great records in his collection. Turned me on to Vanilla Fudge, Love, the Chambers Brothers, the Doors...oh, and also something ELSE he brought home, stuffed into the battery compartment of his stereo.
You are right ,that is Mr.Bill Pascali a great friend of mine and his wife Pat. Two of the best friends to me and my daughter and I thank the lord to have good friends like these two human beings. thank you .
I'll tell you what I think.... I was in high school when they came out, and we knew all the music they covered, but their versions were so incredible, we loved them.
I'm glad this is here since it's the only video of VF doing this song on YouTube. Too bad you can't see anything, but the audio is pretty good! I love their music!
I was at this show and is the first and only time I ever saw the classic Vanilla Fudge lineup. Lest anyone forget, they were what was "heavy" and "progressive" before Led Zeppelin and Yes. They opened the show with some Zep tunes. Carmine Appice had to be some influence on John Bonham.
I first heard these guys in Vietnam in 68-69 (records, I mean). They basically invented prog rock, the grand gesture of metal, etc. Legends!

@writerjmd - dead straight, For the most part, everything they covered became theirs. Who the hell cared about the originals.
