  • I have a 2004 land rover disco dats a trail edition

  • haha the car at 7.20 is a series 1

  • @jclspedding

    erm..............nope!!!

  • @Discovery2TD5 look at 7:13

  • @jclspedding Erm.........still nope, I think tbh your looking at the rear light clusters which tbh I had not noticed, being the same as the series1 (low down) maybe they were "originally" on the test vehicles which is whats probably in the video, but if you look at the body size and the glazing and the door handles, its 100% a Disco 2

  • @jclspedding if you look at the door handles they are disco 2 but the rear lights are oddly at the bottom like a disco one but it clearly is a disco 2

  • I got a 2001 TD5 - Love It- Best car I've ever owned. TD5 is a brilliant engine.

  • but the disco 3 is just as gr8 and in someways better

  • but thats not an offroader like the old 1...... thats some shit plastik elektric, junk ;-)

  • I guess this model was the best ever made of Discovery history, I was so Disapointed the time they placed the Discovery with LR3!!!!!

  • But wasn't the new fantastic 2.5 litre turbo diesel the 300tdi?

  • the 300TDi was never fitted to the Discovery 2. All Disco 2 Diesels are

    TD5's

  • OK, well I too have a Landie, it's a Series III SWB, but what types of diesel engines did Land Rover's have & what were their differences?

  • 1990 - 1993 200TDi

    1993 - 1998 300Tdi

    1999-2005 Td5

    2005 - 2009 TDV6

    2009 - Twin Turbo TDV6

  • Well if the 200tdi & the 300tdi were the same capacity, what's the difference between them?

  • not much, blocks are pretty much the same, main difference was the turbo, inlet manifold layout.

I think the main change was the 200tdi had a different layout between the defender and disco, the 300tdi standardised the configuation between the model range.

  • Not wanted to shut down the party but I have seen many bad reviews on Land Rover online, mainly the new models. Just search online and you will find plenty of posts. But i wanted to ask to anyone that owns a Discovery 2 if they have problems as well as I wanted to buy one. thanks

  • I have a Disco 2 and LOVE it, yes they have "issues" as do all cars, but thats all part of owning one, once you have had a Land Rover, you would not want anything else......

  • thanks, I hope the Discover 2 problems arent thouse that can leave you in the middle of nowhere I mean like you can't start the vehicle. I don't care about minor electrical problems or some plastic falling off, but if the car is going to have thouse mecanical problems tha don't let you drive... then its anothe story for me, since I need a car to drive all around, hwys, city and off road. thanks again

  • Hi there. I have a Disco 2 TD5 Auto. I agree that they have "issues", BUT it all depends on who the previous owner was and how he/she treated the vehicle. You might even buy a Dacia (I don't mean to disrespect anyone) and as long as you take good care of it, you won't be sorry. I do take care of my Landy and it pays back well. Yeah, I admit that it's not a quick one, forget about maneuverability...but it's one of the last true and tough Land Rovers. I'm proud that I have one!

  • Thank you to both 4 your answers. Every car has issues. I own a BMW 3 series and I have some minor ones. But what concern me is if the LRover's problems are thouse that will let you stranded in the middle of nowhere or are just minor electrical problems that can be fixed anytime without afecting your driving. I would hate to be in the middle of nowhere with freezing cold weather or heat and not being able to start the vehicle. I like the Discovery and hope its not like the newer LR models.

  • @dbowie2007 mate a Discovery is a car that gives you all, comfort, security, off road performance and even elegance. you can go work in the country, come back home wash it and take the lady out for a meal. any car in the world has issues, its just some people make a bid deal depending on the make, and others dont. Land Rover is a brand that generates high and many expectations, its always one step ahead in 4x4 technology. you want one, get it take care of it and it will take you to hell and back

  • I own one, after watching this I wanted another!.

  • Got one and love it

  • love this car !!

BTW does anyone know the name of the song at 08:27 ??

  • one of my favorite landies
