Extremely few people who die and are then resuscitated have near death experiences. How do you explain the millions of revived "dead" people who don't have any supernatural experience?
I forgot that there are some common elements in NDEs. Many people see a light which they move towards, have life reviews in which they see everything they did in their lives (including feeling how others reacted to the things that you did..good and bad). Many people also meet their dead relatives who don't look the way they did when they died but how they did at the prime of their lives.
There are cases of atheists who re-evaluated (at least their materialist position) after having a near death experience. Not all of them were hellish as many close-minded religious folks would have you believe. Again, the experience that you do have will have a lot to do with your state of mind.
Materialism is a belief that nothing exists beyond what we can physically perceive. However, even science will acknowledge that human beings can only physically perceive a fraction of what exists. Maybe materialism is a "safe" position to take since it is hard to know what you can't see / hear / feel, etc. But any any open minded person would have to leave open the possibilty that maybe the mind does not disappear when the body dies.
I think that your mind could exist independent of the brain. The brain could just be a transmitter / receiver to interact with the physical dimension. The compelling things about NDEs are that people often see things that they could not have seen lying in their body. There are also cases where people were completely brain dead and they saw in detail what was happening in the operating room. Atheists often buy into the belief (yes, it is a belief) of materialism.
ok, I found this video as I was searching for videos on NDEs. I am not surprised by any of arguments that these guys gave explaining away NDEs. I have read a ton of material about NDEs and OBEs (Out Of Body Experiences). I understand very well how it works. These kinds of experiences are intensely subjective. They are like dreams in that you create a lot of the imagery with your own mind. However, your mind does not have to exist only in your brain.
just adding to my previous comment.. the brain knows when it is near death and to make it as smooth as possible it will pretty much put up a false wall so to speak
in those situations of death the brain will go into a state of calm ( if you are religious and find comfort in religion then your brain knows what makes you at ease so it will automatically tap into the mood stages until it finds a mood that puts you in a state of calm and comfort) so it will reinvent a reality and that reality is only for you to witness. if you can understand what i said and where im going with it then good on you. but if you would like to add something to this then hit me up
Excellent point. How can anyone make something out of nothing. Yet we are here and are very intelligent. So are we saying that something of our intelligence was born from nothing and nothing became something.out of nothing. That just dosen't make sense. If you don't believe in God that is your right and I respect it. Just let the believer believe and the none believers rest in his unbelief.
On Feb. 16th 1967 I was an infantryman with the First Air Cav Division in Vietnam. Trust me God exist.
I'd rather live my life believing in God & finding out He isn't real when I die than not believing in Him my whole life & finding out when I die He's real.
maybe if you died i would reconsider what you "think" but please the man in this video needs to stop giving his individual "opinion" opinions is just how you feel about it and what you think about these arent true facts so first die come back and then talk if your lucky to even come back from death i hope Jesus does forgive you so you can start giving the right message.
Science is great. But science needs experiments that can be repeated with the same results. For argument's sake, lets say there is a God -- and lets say we are going to design an experiment where our goal will be to cause God to react the exact same way each time we manipulate some set of variables that God invented. If God has a reason to remain mysterious, then it is folly to think any experiment could "catch God at his work" (A. Einstein).
I always come back to this one thing in my mind, why is it impossible to be an atheist and believe in some form of an afterlife. In the vastness of the universe and with so much we don't understand why can't the demise of our physical self open up an ability to see and live in another dimension?
you are saying it is a weird experience because your brain is slowing down many atheists have had nde experiences many now believe in a creator. The truth is I don't think you wish their is no light at the end of the tunnel aka God isn't it, you sound like an expert for someone who never had a nde experience maybe you know something more than the other people who had that physical experience.
I feel bad for people who don't believe. It speaks to the lack of human compassion. Cold science won't be able to save them on your day. Cause science don't actually care. All of a sudden you'll hope for God and love and forgiveness and mercy and compassion, you'll hope for someone who cares; Things that your 'science' can't provide. Or maybe you'll hope that death is the black empty sleep that your faith is and run from fear. But, oooooh, whatcha gonna do when you find out that it isn't?
@flyinv1967 You think a NDE has anything to do with religion? HAHAHA, that alone proves how uneducated and unintelligent you are. Not to mention the fact that you believe in something a book told you because the book said it is true without even the smallest piece of evidence. You literally have the intelligence of a fucking chimpanzee, although, even then that may be a little too high for you, because atleast a chimp questions everything.
@oBLACKIECHANoo all you losers claims to bein intailegent but you dont rule or invent nothin just a 9 to 5 12 dollars an hr job if yous so smart then you lead the way
@flyinv1967 LMAO, you're not even capable of speaking English, how pathetic. And you wonder why everyone on the internet mocks religion and shit like NDE's, it's because they are only followed by people as stupid as you.
@flyinv1967 Boy are you gonna be surprised when you find out that your wrong. I sure would like to see the look that's gonna be on your face at that moment. I feel bad for you, because here we are telling you you need to see it from the stand point of the real truth and you're mocking truth and us and one day you're going to wish you had just believed a little bit.
That's what I caught too. Anybody who has done any research on this subject knows that people do not have nde's that are based on their religion. These two people are misrepresenting the truth. And the file cabinet test is ABSOLUTELY stupid. Since it represents the expectation of and experimentation with death---which no reasonable doctor would dare tell a patient. it would be unethical. Wow. It is so sad to see this important subject dismissed with such ignorant excuses.
@MrRteelee It's not an important subject, it's bullshit that has been proven wrong and is fully explainable by science in every single way. And most people that have an NDE, usually have one about religion, if not it is something that they NEED to see in their life, to validate something, or to remember somebody. It's always based on something in that persons life. And when that happens to an uneducated moron, they then believe in some kind of supernatural crap.
near death experience is 100% explainable by science. it's pure brain function. BUT science doesn't have a hold on consciousness. not one bit, and if anyone disagrees - they are simply ignorant to what consciousness truly is.
No it is not. Consciousness is not "recognizing one's self in a mirror". That's nonsense, a robot could be programmed to do that. Consciousness is not physical. Think about this - what if the next time you went to sleep, you woke up in your father's body the next morning. Would you be your father? No. YOU would still be YOU regardless what body you were hooked up to. The sense of one's self lies much deeper than the atoms that make up our body, brain included. Do you follow?
@theblueisyou So now you're using things that can't happen to prove what consciousness is? And that doesn't change the fact that consciousness is explainable by science.
Yes, I used an example that logically would never happen, but the point has nothing to do with that being a probable or even possible experience. The point is to help communicate what consciousness is. Weather you take it or leave it, there are a number of things that cannot be scientifically proven. I love science and I love philosophy both but I not dare take a bias. I view things simply how they are.
@theblueisyou Now that is truly classic. Science doesn't have a hold on consciousness..and if anyone disagrees - they are ignorant (like science?) of what consciousness is. Are you suggesting that science doesn't get it, and most others don't either, but you, blue, you know what consciousness is? Well do help us relieve ourselves of our ignorance. By all means....
I love science and I love philosophy both (fuck religion), and I don't dare to take a bias in either direction, but why should I poor my beliefs unto a pompous person who most likely won't consider a single thing I say? I'd like to have a conversation with you, rather than a pointless argument. Sound good?
@theblueisyou If you would like to have a conversation, why not start rather call me "pompous"? Your comment, which I picked on a little, seems to suggest that you have everything all figured out. I take issue with people who think that way. But I didn't understand the context at the moment. You were having an argument with a teenage clam..so now it makes more sense to me. Science explains NDE? How so? I haven't seen evidence that supports that contention.
Based on what I know and my personal views, near death experiences are PROBABLY brain function, like a lucid dream or hallucinations. I'm not going to say I know for sure though because.. I don't! And I appreciated your understanding of the scientific theory. Many people don't understand what science really is and when they tell me consciousness is brain function PERIOD, I end my efforts to have a decent conversation cause they prove their stubbornness and immaturity instantly.
There is a list of interesting things that can not be proven nor tested by science and I'd like to message you because it's too long to comment. Does that sound alright?
I agree, this guy starts off saying..." Uhmm ahh... I believe if you dig a little deeper for umm, more information about this, what you'll find is that the after-lives that get reported by folk like that have 1 thing in common, they all report the thing that they were raised to believe.... " What a BS answer... If one actually looked into these reports they would see that every one has a similar but different experience. Some make it to God and some are shown hell regardless of beliefs. Yes2God
@ellecosmic No I have not died, have you? I've always had a heavy interest in NDE, and have read about, and have seen many accounts on television shows through-out my life, and here on youtube. Does it make me an expert? No...Can I provide a better educated opinion based on the large amount of data I've encountered? Yes I can... But I'm not taking calls on a show and giving baseless advice either. This guy obviously values the opinion of this "pannel," and is steared from the truth recklessly.
Regardless of what you believe as far as religion goes, there are a number of atheists or other non-Christians (who were not raised to be anything else) who have claimed to have near-death experiences and have changed their faith as a result- some simple youtube surfing should produce some first-hand accounts. Also, much of the testing that has been conducted with regard to near-death experiences is much more scientific then that which Matt mentioned, and has provided inconclusive results. :)
Before you jump to the conclution that there is life after death without scientific proof or reasoning, In the final moments of death, the lack of oxygen to the brain causes the subject to enter into a brief hallucination state, this explains the so called tunels of white light or the sense of flying above the body, this is all allutinations due to the lack of oxygen to the brain.
I aint saying that god not exist but look for logical explanations before putting the stamp of miraculous events.
@latenightcreep18 I've been washed Clean and I have seen the Power of the Lord and I am concerned for your everlasting Soul as you should be. If I am wrong What do I Lose by being the best person i can be? By not getting caught up in material wealth etc. If i am wrong i lose nothing but if You are wrong and I am right, it saddens me to know that you & those who follow Your teachings could end up forever in torment
Be afraid, Be very afraid, and Yes, I have a very Healthy Fear of My Maker....
@MrToddG123 if people like you woul djust open their eyes...first of all, a belief is not a choice, its an INVOLUNTARY conclusion one has reached based on what culture they were born into, what their parents believed, their intelligence, and the life experiences theyve had so far. it is not like a switch. "ok, ill believe". put a gun to ones head and demand, "BELIEVE!" and that will have no effect. its NOT a choice. so the whole 'belief' doctrine is bunk which any educated person knows
@MrToddG123 furthermore, every culture claims to "know" theyre right. they claim to have seen, experienced or felt THEIR savior/god, whether it be jesus, muhammad, krishna or whoever. why is YOUR experience true but everyone elses is not? this loving "God" throws us into this world, full of religions and beliefs and if we "choose" the wrong belief, he sends us to hell for all eternity? how can anyone worship such a being? that says a lot about you. i would never worship a being of evil like that
@MrToddG123 so perhaps you are concerned for his "everlasting soul", and im sure hes really grateful for that, but youd better be more concerned with waking up and finding the REAL truth because i guarantee you, you havent found it yet, that is evident by the way youre telling others theyre going to hell because they dont believe as you do. seek the truth objectively without fear of punishment. do not simply seek confirmation that what you already believe is true. thats not how it wokks
@MrToddG123 i must point out one more thing you said as well. you said to that other guy, "What do I Lose by being the best person i can be? By not getting caught up in material wealth etc."..are you implying that all non christians are not trying to be the best person they can be? or anyone who isnt christian is caught up in material wealth etc,? what about buddhists who live in the forest and meditate and have nothing to do with worldly wealth? that comment was extremely ignorant as well
These guys are just as closed-minded as the religious. They make statements without knowing or divulging all of the facts, and tailor their comments to suit their bigoted ideas - just like religious fanatics.
Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance.
i have seen about 20 atheist near death christian expiriences there is one on the right of my screen while commenting on this video. these atheist obviously have no clue.
its not about religion, its about a way of life that brings to pass a well being for all people. these visions of meeting christ arent just for christians, even atheists have met christ in near death experiences
@RhinoM2000 Bull fucking shit!! Just because you saw a video made by religious nuts that claim this you think its true! You people need to read other books I have Clinically died three times in my one and only life and guess what nothing! the same as before you were born,NOTHING!! You people are delusional
You religious people are nuts! You think you are better than any other life form on the planet! Do you know where you were before you were born? That is where you go when you die, nowhere! You live and die like all life that has ever existed, Our sun will die one day along with our planet then one day the whole universe will not exist! You religious people are arrogant and ignorant too think this is all for us. You are just scared to die so a make belief place makes you feel better! GROW UP!
Truth will ALWAYS elude a close-minded person. If scientists have been wrong on a number of SIMPLE things before, what makes you think what they "know" about the COMPLEXITY of our brain is true at all?
I think it's kinda like dreaming. The last thing u usually see or think of is what u will most likely be dreaming or atleast that's the case w me. If u believe in your heart that there is a heaven/hell etc. u will most likelt dream that, especially if u are about to die. I hear Atheists say that they don't believe but when they were dying they saw heaven and Jesus, well, they probably wanted to see that and it was tucked away in their brain and came out. Like u said, Muslems don't see Jesus...
weird, when I had my NDE I didn't see god nor heaven nor hell nor any "white light." I just saw the vastness of space and felt my consciousness reabsorb into the universe. Oddly enough, after my experience theoretical physics, sub atomic particles and such make a lot more sense to me. Our "energy" just goes back into the universe from whence it came. Science better explains what I experienced than religion does... go figure.
@BioShock55Airsoft Not everybody who has an NDE is in the hospital or has access to medicine. What about the one's that have drowned and not even been rescued from the water yet? What about the car accidents when the person has just barely had the wreck? In most cases, the victim hasn't had a chance to be helped with medicines or CPR etc..They immediately start having the NDE when their hearts stop.
If you believe in the afterlife, I encourage you to take acid (LSD) you will see it. ;) (actually you will see that what you see and believe is based on your mind and is not objective)
Those who do not believe in anything will fall for everything. Everything we can touch, smell, taste, see, or hear is less than one-millionth of reality.
What tells me the atheists in science would vehemently disagree with the program?. If there is life after death atheism would fall like a house of cards
I thought of a way to test the NDE. We let inmates on death row participate in a hospital induced heart and brain wave function death for 5-10 min, then they are resuscitated to give an account of what happened, if anything This procedure can (and has been many times) be done safely and effectively.
If the inmate survives his sentence is commuted to life in prison without parole. I think with enough pressure from medical science this program could be accomplished
i see 2 fools going against god jesus died for your sins so we can spend eternity in heaven, but your choosin hell what a choice..(dont be a fool) "pray with me" Heavenly Father, I know that I have sinned against you and that my sins separate me from you. I am truly sorry. I now want to turn away from my sinful past and turn to you for forgiveness. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins, that He was raised from the dead>>>
, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become my Savior and the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You and to convict me when I sin. I pledge to grow in grace and knowledge of you. My greatest purpose in life is to follow your example and do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen
Another scientific report showed that its really just the brain shutting down during the death experience where chemicals are produced which create hallucinations; its not real.
"they all say what they were raised to believe" ok then explain how that some athiest that had the out of body experince saw hell? they didnt believe in God but yet they came back from death believing in him. I know Gods real because I felt the Holy Spirit when I surrendered my life to him. I cant explain the feeling I had it changed my life and I havnt attended church in years. So you cant say ive been brain washed. I built a personal relationship with God at home and now im at peace with life.
God is so for free choice, He will never force anyone to love, serve, follow or even believe in Him. Thus He has given us such an intelligent mind that we can through even our own wisdom arrive at disproving His existence.1 Cor 21-22 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him,God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.Jews demand signs & Greeks look for wisdom...For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom
No evidence will ever appear that will compel you or anyone to believe in God! Some of the greatest evidence that many people demand is,"If God would just appear to me I'd believe". For most this would be enough. However, national geographic interviewed an agnostic/atheist man who has developed a cutting edge theory that these appearances of an angel/Godlike creature during life threatening situations is simply an evolutionary survival mechanism. Thus, even an appearance can be explained away.
the last thing you'd be concerned about. These two don't sound like they truly know what they are talking about. It's more like what they think happens which isn't evidence
As an atheist I'd be inclined to support their view of what death is but what they said didn't stand up as scientific proof. There are many road signs I go past every day that I never see or pay attention too, does that mean I didn't go past them? I mean putting a sign in the OT for someone to see while floating off to the 'next life' is pathetic. Because if there is a next life, while that was happening to you I doubt you'd go "oh look a sign" more like "fuck me I'm still here!" that would be
They are right there are complicated issues which are not fully understood, but the lack of definitive evidence, isn't evidence in of itself. Someone, at some time, may finally report what those objects are up on the cabinets. The brain isn't that well understood, nobody really knows how it processes information, so his assumptions really are murmurs out of his anus. It is something that is still being researched, and there is no yes or no answer at this current time.
@mrbruce5151 makes more sense then a guy flying around on a cloud deciding weather you live or die and can magicly create something out of thin air B|
Matt, you've become an expert on NDE's? I don't think so. You've not done the research of being with hundreds who've crossed over and came back. So you've twisted it to suit your purposes. But you didn't fool me.
@AlanaPower111 According to my intrenet research on NDEs, "the light" will be the figure of the avatar according to ones belief. I agree with you on the fact that NDE phenomenon are to be reckoned with; and there are extensive research on the matter.
I dont know where they are getting their studies from, but i have read 4 books thus far about Near Death Experiences, all scientific studies...and they are opposite what they're describing here. If you have not read "Embraced by the Light", by Betty Eadie, i would read it, it actually provides alot of answers. I love these people as spiritual beings, here to learn and grow as all people are here to do, i just wish they wouldn't provide such misleading and false information. Love to all of you!<3
I find it amusing that you can sit there and give out false information like you just did and say it with such confidence, what BS. There are facts surrounding this study that suggest that people DO leave their bodies and obtain information. Arrogant dick, do your homework before you open your mouth. You can look up the study yourselves. It's in the Science Digest and is being conducted by world class Doctors and Scientist. I stumbled upon this video while surfing youtube and ugh! never again!
@MissLauraCain you are right on one thing - that there is research ongoing. The rest is just emotional rant. For starters, show me a single scientific paper, that draws a correlation between NDE and afterlife or supreme beings. All the research I found, was done in the biological and cognitive context. So how you put god in there is unknown. Secondly, the names of those doctors and scientists would be rather significant, since all your claims are based on a TV show!
@eleminatus I would be happy to provide names....Dr. Sam Parnia leads the study along with Dr. Peter Fenwick, and Professors Stephen Holegate and Robert Peveler of the University of Southampton. You can read about it in the Science Daily, which is online, Worlds Largest-Ever Study of Near-Death Experiences. Now what were the names and sources of the Dr's and Scientists who have proved otherwise? Or at least have enough proof that these people can air a talk show "ranting" about what they "think"
@MissLauraCain the only article I found on NDE on "Science daily", was of Zalika Klemenc-Ketis, who showed a correlation between carbon-dioxide levels in the blood and NDE. Im also curious, why you picked Dr. Parnia to support your position. In the interview to "Skeptiko" he openly says that NDE is merely an illusion. While in 2010 in the university of Goldsmiths, he had a lecture, explaining biological intricacies of NDE and death itself.
@MissLauraCain here are some people in support of naturalistic explanation - psychologist Susan Blackmore, Michael Shermer, neuroscientists Jason Braithwaite, Sebastian Dieguez and Olaf Blanke have published papers, showing the biological nature of NDE. Lakhmir Chawla, Rick Strassman, Richard Kinseher etc. There is plenty of research going on, and nobody has concluded, that NDE is a spiritual or paranormal phenomenon. So why do you draw the conclusions?!
@eleminatus They don't know the facts either. They're good guesses at best. I haven't seen the first bit of proof beyond supporting what sounds logical, to convince me. At least there are scientist and Dr's with open minds enough to say, "Let's do some research" instead of assuming that at death the brain reacts in such a way that causes delusions. That's not a proven fact.
If you google Worlds largest study on near-death experiences, you can't possible miss it.
@MissLauraCain I never claimed there are conclusions, now did I? You are right, there is a lot of research going on. And a lot of it points to naturalistic explanation. That was my only argument. You see, I have an open mind. If science will present evidence that NDE is a paranormal phenomenon, I have no trouble believing it. However is hasnt, yet you, for some reason, already believe that its of supernatural nature. Why?
@MissLauraCain I never claimed there are conclusions, now did I? You are right, there is a lot of research going on. And a lot of it points to naturalistic explanation. That was my only argument. @eleminatus Also, please google Southamton NDE study. Starting at the top, you will find plenty of information about the research. Please keep an open mind. Sometimes people make up their minds and there's no changing it no matter how much proof you have in front of you. It's denial. I've been there. I was a cocky Atheist who had all the answers, and I was shocked at how stupid Christians were. I'm not saying we were created by a God, I don't know that, I'm just saying there is life after life
It's on the Bio channel and it's called "I survived: Beyond and Back". There is a huge study going on right now about your conscience leaving your body and obtaining information before being revived. I used to be an Atheist but now I KNOW there is a higher power, whether it's an advanced form of human beings or God or another dimension, don't know, but I do know that with Atheism comes arrogance and close minded self righteous fools! Sorry but, been there done that and I was wrong. ALSO...
@TheIronicIdiot Exactly! He is a fucking fool. There was even a damn Buddhist Monk who was prounced dead and brought back and he is now living a christian. There have been people of every race and religion say the same damn thing. No one has EVER said they saw "allah" or "buddah" or any other false prohecy. Not even those who practice that religion
Type in NDE and listen to the stories from all diffrent people not just christians and they all experience alot of the same things. There are no stories of a NDE and someone said they saw allah or any other false prohecy. Even from people who grew up knowing these religions
The point is..These guys are fucking idiots who shouldnt even speak on something they clearly know nothing about. They said people from other religions dont see God? That is actually FAR from the truth. There are people from other religions who have converted to christianity after NDE. There has never been a NDE where someone said they saw "buddah" or "allah". NOT ONE! I freaking Buddhist MONK even said he saw GOD after his NDE. Dont listen to these fools, they are DUMB
@AlanaPower111 nobody has claimed to have died and saw "buddha" because buddhists dont believe in gods. people HAVE claimed to have died and talked to Allah....dont make ignorant comments like that
@AlanaPower111 and as far as the buddhist who supposedly said he saw god, i would have to say youre lying, show me this former buddhist. secondly, it doesnt matter anyway, ALL humans make mistakes
@credulously Well allah is just GOD in another language. Muslims believe in the same GOD as christians but diffrent jesus. And I have been studying NDE for YEARS!!!! Many buddhist monks have had NDE dealings with Hell or God/Jesus. There is a website created by a team of doctors that have been doing research for YEARS about the subject. And the buddhist monk story is in fact on YOUTUBE. look it up.
@AlanaPower111 im sorry...but youre full of crap. give us all these supposed examples of buddhists converting to christianity. what are their names? where are the videos and articles?
@AlanaPower111 and again, ill repeat myself just for you because youre so 'special'...it doesnt matter if there are a few buddhists or anyone else who converted...humans all make mistakes
@AlanaPower111 and you cant say allah is just another name for god its an entirely different belief system. muslims believe christians are going to hell because they raise up jesus to the level of god
What about Superstar Elizabth taylor who was pronounced dead had a NDE, What about the guy who was also Athiest and shocked by 5 box jellyfish(which normally kill within mins), walked himself to the hospital and was pronounced dead, when they were working on his dead corpse he woke up and walked out of the hospital, he said he had a talk with God. Normally people DIE from those jellyfish and he walked out of the hospital after 2 hours! There is proof and evidence of it. Go look it up
What about the Muslim lady who had a NDE and now she is a Christian, What about the Buddhist MONK who had a NDE and now is a Christian. What about the lady who was born into Athiest family who had devil worshiper had a NDE and is now a chirstian, What about the lady who had ruptured anuersym died and heard everything her nurse was saying who was in ANOTHER room. Or the little boy who heard his fathers prayer when his father was in the waiting room. And he told him Word for Word what he said
What they are saying is obviously not true. There are atheists with the same testimonies. There are children with testimonies. Look up "Heaven is For Real" and "Akiane" for starters.
Explaining an experience like that would be hard. I can imagine why a person would describe heaven or Jesus. The experience is fleeting, and I don't doubt that people can barely remember it- even if they say they remember it vividly. Still, no one can know if there is life after death. We do know, however, that there is a certain order to it that is imbued in everything-- another hard thing to explain.
A lot of red herrings talked about here. NDEs have been studied extensively and all testimonies recall remarkedly similar experiences, particularly people blind from birth. Religious preference is not even mentioned let alone a common point of discussion. look up Dr. Jeffrey Long's YT video who in a TV interview discusses his 1000 case studies
I FEEL NOTHING BUT PITY FOR THIS PEOPLE BUT MOST OF ALL PITY FOR THE ONES THAT ACTUALLY TAKE THIS PEOPLE FOR THEIR WORDS. LADIES AND GENTLE MEN HEAVEN AND HELL IS REAL DIS RIGHT HERE IS THE HAND WORK OF THE DEVIL
@grant160619 Also, just because someone is brain dead before they come back and recall an experience doesn't mean they had the experience while brain dead. They had the experience in the process of the brain shutting down and producing massive amounts of DMT...This is why I laugh at people who say "how could they have had that experience with no brain activity?", because there is no evidence that they had the experience while brain dead instead of while the brain was shutting down.
@theBartone9119 Why make a comment that you know nothing about, I have read up to 30 books relating to NDE'S, Reincarnation, The Silver Chord, God, Direct voice mediumship....the list continues. I have also witnessed countless evidence of life after death in my own carnation which led me to pick up these books in the first place. Your ignorance is very evident by the way..... The World is not flat.... just in case.
@grant160619 "The World is not flat.... just in case."
It's funny hearing that from someone who believes in God, considering it was the church who tried to suppress the truth of the world being round...Anyway belief in the supernatural and fairy tales is for children not adults. I have done countless research on NDE's and not one struck me as supernatural. You are simply too scared to face your own mortality. Also, reading books doesn't equal truth, there are books on Big Foot...(He isn't real)
@grant160619 I bet you I have done much more research than you regarding NDE's, which is why I know the science behind it and you just think it's magic...How cute lol
@trees622 Hi, it would take me hours to comment about my belief systems after reading vast amounts of books. I would start by saying my life changed on 12/10/06 when I saw a shadow figure climb through a wall and singled me out (I was at work)
& got within 2 feet in front of me, then it had gone. The next day I got a call saying that my best mate was dead, he had left his physical body four hours previous to my encounter with the figure, i'm not nuts I saw what I saw; wanted answers&books help
@grant160619 I'm sure you're tired of explaining yourself around the internet when you make these sorts of claims, but you're friend wasn't the only person to of died on that day, what makes you so sure it was him?
@KingPiccolo001 Well, I can't prove that I had cereal for breakfast yesterday. What I do know is that I saw my first ghost when I was 38 years old and the ghost knew me, it wasn't a residual haunting that some call 'stone tape theory'. What I can tell U is that I talked with him about the supernatural 2 weeks before his demise & that is why he came 2 me. I believe I was allowed to see him by the higher powers, whether you call them spirit guides or angels is immaterial. I know in my heart....
@grant160619 Well you didn't really answer my question, what makes you so sure it was him, if I take it on good faith you actually saw a 'future ghost', what makes you think it was him, people die every day and since it was 2 weeks prior, reasonably speaking it could've been any number of people presenting themselves to you, just because someone you had a connection to died, doesn't mean it was him, could've also been someone who just died. So what makes you so sure its him?
@KingPiccolo001 You act like I owe you something, I owe you nothing so go and bully info from someone elce or start reading DUH....with your petentious name.
@grant160619 Watch medium Lisa Williams tour concerts. No trickster can carry on a charade and put up job for years without eventually being exposed. Watch her comforting a guy whose brother was murdered. She picked the guy out of an audience of 1000 & knew everthing about the circumstances of his brother's death. A con or the real deal.? You be the judge. Hence compelling evidence for the imortality of the soul & life afterdeath.

Extremely few people who die and are then resuscitated have near death experiences. How do you explain the millions of revived "dead" people who don't have any supernatural experience?
youngdones 13 hours ago
I forgot that there are some common elements in NDEs. Many people see a light which they move towards, have life reviews in which they see everything they did in their lives (including feeling how others reacted to the things that you did..good and bad). Many people also meet their dead relatives who don't look the way they did when they died but how they did at the prime of their lives.
mlgarton 1 day ago
There are cases of atheists who re-evaluated (at least their materialist position) after having a near death experience. Not all of them were hellish as many close-minded religious folks would have you believe. Again, the experience that you do have will have a lot to do with your state of mind.
mlgarton 1 day ago
Materialism is a belief that nothing exists beyond what we can physically perceive. However, even science will acknowledge that human beings can only physically perceive a fraction of what exists. Maybe materialism is a "safe" position to take since it is hard to know what you can't see / hear / feel, etc. But any any open minded person would have to leave open the possibilty that maybe the mind does not disappear when the body dies.
mlgarton 1 day ago
I think that your mind could exist independent of the brain. The brain could just be a transmitter / receiver to interact with the physical dimension. The compelling things about NDEs are that people often see things that they could not have seen lying in their body. There are also cases where people were completely brain dead and they saw in detail what was happening in the operating room. Atheists often buy into the belief (yes, it is a belief) of materialism.
mlgarton 1 day ago
ok, I found this video as I was searching for videos on NDEs. However, your mind does not have to exist only in your brain.
mlgarton 1 day ago
just adding to my previous comment.. the brain knows when it is near death and to make it as smooth as possible it will pretty much put up a false wall so to speak
rapid303 1 day ago
in those situations of death the brain will go into a state of calm ( if you are religious and find comfort in religion then your brain knows what makes you at ease so it will automatically tap into the mood stages until it finds a mood that puts you in a state of calm and comfort) so it will reinvent a reality and that reality is only for you to witness. if you can understand what i said and where im going with it then good on you. but if you would like to add something to this then hit me up
rapid303 1 day ago
Excellent point. How can anyone make something out of nothing. Yet we are here and are very intelligent. So are we saying that something of our intelligence was born from nothing and nothing became something.out of nothing. That just dosen't make sense. If you don't believe in God that is your right and I respect it. Just let the believer believe and the none believers rest in his unbelief.

You literally have the intelligence of a fucking chimpanzee, although, even then that may be a little too high for you, because atleast a chimp questions everything.

MrRteelee 6 days ago
That's what I caught too. Anybody who has done any research on this subject knows that people do not have nde's that are based on their religion. These two people are misrepresenting the truth. And the file cabinet test is ABSOLUTELY stupid. Since it represents the expectation of and experimentation with death---which no reasonable doctor would dare tell a patient. it would be unethical. Wow. It is so sad to see this important subject dismissed with such ignorant excuses.
MrRteelee 1 week ago
@MrRteelee It's not an important subject, it's bullshit that has been proven wrong and is fully explainable by science in every single way. And most people that have an NDE, usually have one about religion, if not it is something that they NEED to see in their life, to validate something, or to remember somebody. It's always based on something in that persons life. And when that happens to an uneducated moron, they then believe in some kind of supernatural crap.
oBLACKIECHANoo 1 week ago
@oBLACKIECHANoo
near death experience is 100% explainable by science. it's pure brain function. BUT science doesn't have a hold on consciousness. not one bit, and if anyone disagrees - they are simply ignorant to what consciousness truly is.
theblueisyou 6 days ago
@theblueisyou Actually, the consciousness is explainable by science.
oBLACKIECHANoo 6 days ago
@oBLACKIECHANoo
Do you follow?
theblueisyou 6 days ago
@theblueisyou So now you're using things that can't happen to prove what consciousness is? And that doesn't change the fact that consciousness is explainable by science.

Yes, I used an example that logically would never happen, but the point has nothing to do with that being a probable or even possible experience. The point is to help communicate what consciousness is. Weather you take it or leave it, there are a number of things that cannot be scientifically proven. I love science and I love philosophy both but I not dare take a bias. I view things simply how they are.
theblueisyou 6 days ago
@theblueisyou Now that is truly classic. Science doesn't have a hold on consciousness..and if anyone disagrees - they are ignorant (like science?) of what consciousness is. Are you suggesting that science doesn't get it, and most others don't either, but you, blue, you know what consciousness is? Well do help us relieve ourselves of our ignorance. By all means....

theblueisyou 6 days ago
@theblueisyou If you would like to have a conversation, why not start rather call me "pompous"? Your comment, which I picked on a little, seems to suggest that you have everything all figured out. I take issue with people who think that way. But I didn't understand the context at the moment. You were having an argument with a teenage clam..so now it makes more sense to me. Based on what I know and my personal views, near death experiences are PROBABLY brain function, like a lucid dream or hallucinations. I'm not going to say I know for sure though because.. I don't! And I appreciated your understanding of the scientific theory. fisiorking 1 week ago

MrToddG123 1 week ago
@MrToddG123 if people like you woul djust open their eyes...first of all, a belief is not a choice, its an INVOLUNTARY conclusion one has reached based on what culture they were born into, what their parents believed, their intelligence, and the life experiences theyve had so far. it is not like a switch. "ok, ill believe". put a gun to ones head and demand, "BELIEVE!" and that will have no effect. its NOT a choice. so the whole 'belief' doctrine is bunk which any educated person knows
credulously 1 week ago
@MrToddG123 furthermore, every culture claims to "know" theyre right. they claim to have seen, experienced or felt THEIR savior/god, whether it be jesus, muhammad, krishna or whoever. why is YOUR experience true but everyone elses is not? this loving "God" throws us into this world, full of religions and beliefs and if we "choose" the wrong belief, he sends us to hell for all eternity? how can anyone worship such a being? that says a lot about you. i would never worship a being of evil like that
credulously 1 week ago
@MrToddG123 so perhaps you are concerned for his "everlasting soul", and im sure hes really grateful for that, but youd better be more concerned with waking up and finding the REAL truth because i guarantee you, you havent found it yet, that is evident by the way youre telling others theyre going to hell because they dont believe as you do. seek the truth objectively without fear of punishment. do not simply seek confirmation that what you already believe is true. thats not how it wokks
credulously 1 week ago
@MrToddG123 i must point out one more thing you said as well. you said to that other guy, "What do I Lose by being the best person i can be? By not getting caught up in material wealth etc."..are you implying that all non christians are not trying to be the best person they can be? or anyone who isnt christian is caught up in material wealth etc,? what about buddhists who live in the forest and meditate and have nothing to do with worldly wealth? that comment was extremely ignorant as well

Because if there is a next life, while that was happening to you I doubt you'd go "oh look a sign" more like "fuck me I'm still here!" that would be
GazAnders69 3 weeks ago
They are right there are complicated issues which are not fully understood, but the lack of definitive evidence, isn't evidence in of itself. Someone, at some time, may finally report what those objects are up on the cabinets. The brain isn't that well understood, nobody really knows how it processes information, so his assumptions really are murmurs out of his anus. It is something that is still being researched, and there is no yes or no answer at this current time.

Did you become atheists before or after your first communion?

Matt, you've become an expert on NDE's? I don't think so. You've not done the research of being with hundreds who've crossed over and came back. So you've twisted it to suit your purposes. But you didn't fool me.
kathyqz 4 weeks ago

@TrueatLove why dont you provide the authors of those books, so that people could look up their works, before getting on that high horse of yours?

Oh excuse me, it's called SCIENCE DAILY, check it out!
MissLauraCain 1 month ago
I find it amusing that you can sit there and give out false information like you just did and say it with such confidence, what BS. There are facts surrounding this study that suggest that people DO leave their bodies and obtain information. Arrogant dick, do your homework before you open your mouth. You can look up the study yourselves. It's in the Science Digest and is being conducted by world class Doctors and Scientist. I stumbled upon this video while surfing youtube and ugh! never again!
MissLauraCain 1 month ago
@MissLauraCain you are right on one thing - that there is research ongoing. The rest is just emotional rant. For starters, show me a single scientific paper, that draws a correlation between NDE and afterlife or supreme beings. All the research I found, was done in the biological and cognitive context. So how you put god in there is unknown. Secondly, the names of those doctors and scientists would be rather significant, since all your claims are based on a TV show!
eleminatus 4 weeks ago
@eleminatus I would be happy to provide names....Dr. Sam Parnia leads the study along with Dr. Peter Fenwick, and Professors Stephen Holegate and Robert Peveler of the University of Southampton. You can read about it in the Science Daily, which is online, Worlds Largest-Ever Study of Near-Death Experiences. Now what were the names and sources of the Dr's and Scientists who have proved otherwise? Or at least have enough proof that these people can air a talk show "ranting" about what they "think"
MissLauraCain 3 weeks ago
@MissLauraCain the only article I found on NDE on "Science daily", was of Zalika Klemenc-Ketis, who showed a correlation between carbon-dioxide levels in the blood and NDE. Im also curious, why you picked Dr. Parnia to support your position. In the interview to "Skeptiko" he openly says that NDE is merely an illusion. While in 2010 in the university of Goldsmiths, he had a lecture, explaining biological intricacies of NDE and death itself.
eleminatus 3 weeks ago
@MissLauraCain here are some people in support of naturalistic explanation - psychologist Susan Blackmore, Michael Shermer, neuroscientists Jason Braithwaite, Sebastian Dieguez and Olaf Blanke have published papers, showing the biological nature of NDE. Lakhmir Chawla, Rick Strassman, Richard Kinseher etc. There is plenty of research going on, and nobody has concluded, that NDE is a spiritual or paranormal phenomenon. So why do you draw the conclusions?!
eleminatus 3 weeks ago
@eleminatus They don't know the facts either. They're good guesses at best. I haven't seen the first bit of proof beyond supporting what sounds logical, to convince me. At least there are scientist and Dr's with open minds enough to say, "Let's do some research" instead of assuming that at death the brain reacts in such a way that causes delusions. That's not a proven fact.
If you google Worlds largest study on near-death experiences, you can't possible miss it.
MissLauraCain 3 weeks ago
@MissLauraCain I never claimed there are conclusions, now did I? You are right, there is a lot of research going on. And a lot of it points to naturalistic explanation. That was my only argument. You see, I have an open mind. If science will present evidence that NDE is a paranormal phenomenon, I have no trouble believing it. However is hasnt, yet you, for some reason, already believe that its of supernatural nature. Why?

@eleminatus Also, please google Southamton NDE study. Starting at the top, you will find plenty of information about the research. Please keep an open mind. Sometimes people make up their minds and there's no changing it no matter how much proof you have in front of you. It's denial. I've been there. I was a cocky Atheist who had all the answers, and I was shocked at how stupid Christians were. I'm not saying we were created by a God, I don't know that, I'm just saying there is life after life
MissLauraCain 3 weeks ago

AlanaPower111 1 month ago
Type in NDE and listen to the stories from all diffrent people not just christians and they all experience alot of the same things. There are no stories of a NDE and someone said they saw allah or any other false prohecy. Even from people who grew up knowing these religions
AlanaPower111 1 month ago
The point is..These guys are fucking idiots who shouldnt even speak on something they clearly know nothing about. They said people from other religions dont see God? That is actually FAR from the truth. There are people from other religions who have converted to christianity after NDE. There has never been a NDE where someone said they saw "buddah" or "allah". NOT ONE! I freaking Buddhist MONK even said he saw GOD after his NDE. Dont listen to these fools, they are DUMB
AlanaPower111 1 month ago
@AlanaPower111 since when Allah or Buddha are not considered gods? And what about all those people who dont convert? Why dont you mention them?
eleminatus 4 weeks ago
@AlanaPower111 nobody has claimed to have died and saw "buddha" because buddhists dont believe in gods. people HAVE claimed to have died and talked to Allah....dont make ignorant comments like that

@AlanaPower111 and as far as the buddhist who supposedly said he saw god, i would have to say youre lying, show me this former buddhist. secondly, it doesnt matter anyway, ALL humans make mistakes
credulously 1 week ago

And he told him Word for Word what he said
AlanaPower111 1 month ago
What they are saying is obviously not true. There are atheists with the same testimonies. There are children with testimonies. Look up "Heaven is For Real" and "Akiane" for starters.
DukeOfEarl88 1 month ago
Explaining an experience like that would be hard. I can imagine why a person would describe heaven or Jesus. The experience is fleeting, and I don't doubt that people can barely remember it- even if they say they remember it vividly. Still, no one can know if there is life after death. We do know, however, that there is a certain order to it that is imbued in everything-- another hard thing to explain.

they'res still atheist?
littleTHOUGHTZ 1 month ago
A lot of red herrings talked about here. NDEs have been studied extensively and all testimonies recall remarkedly similar experiences, particularly people blind from birth. Religious preference is not even mentioned let alone a common point of discussion. look up Dr. Jeffrey Long's YT video who in a TV interview discusses his 1000 case studies

@grant160619 They are not wrong..Anyone who believes NDEs are supernatural needs to get their heads checked and quit being so gullible.
theBartone9119 1 month ago
@theBartone9119 Why make a comment that you know nothing about, I have read up to 30 books relating to NDE'S, Reincarnation, The Silver Chord, God, Direct voice mediumship....the list continues. I have also witnessed countless evidence of life after death in my own carnation which led me to pick up these books in the first place. Your ignorance is very evident by the way..... The World is not flat.... just in case.
grant160619 1 month ago
@grant160619 "The World is not flat.... just in case."
It's funny hearing that from someone who believes in God, considering it was the church who tried to suppress the truth of the world being round...Anyway belief in the supernatural and fairy tales is for children not adults. I have done countless research on NDE's and not one struck me as supernatural. You are simply too scared to face your own mortality. Also, reading books doesn't equal truth, there are books on Big Foot...(He isn't real)
theBartone9119 1 month ago

what do you think of the illuminati???
trees622 1 month ago
@trees622 Hi, it would take me hours to comment about my belief systems after reading vast amounts of books. I would start by saying my life changed on 12/10/06 when I saw a shadow figure climb through a wall and singled me out (I was at work)
& got within 2 feet in front of me, then it had gone. The next day I got a call saying that my best mate was dead, he had left his physical body four hours previous to my encounter with the figure, i'm not nuts I saw what I saw; wanted answers&books help
grant160619 1 month ago
@grant160619 I'm sure you're tired of explaining yourself around the internet when you make these sorts of claims, but you're friend wasn't the only person to of died on that day, what makes you so sure it was him?
KingPiccolo001 1 month ago
@KingPiccolo001 Well, I can't prove that I had cereal for breakfast yesterday. What I do know is that I saw my first ghost when I was 38 years old and the ghost knew me, it wasn't a residual haunting that some call 'stone tape theory'. What I can tell U is that I talked with him about the supernatural 2 weeks before his demise & that is why he came 2 me. I believe I was allowed to see him by the higher powers, whether you call them spirit guides or angels is immaterial. I know in my heart....
grant160619 1 month ago
@grant160619 Well you didn't really answer my question, what makes you so sure it was him, if I take it on good faith you actually saw a 'future ghost', what makes you think it was him, people die every day and since it was 2 weeks prior, reasonably speaking it could've been any number of people presenting themselves to you, just because someone you had a connection to died, doesn't mean it was him, could've also been someone who just died. So what makes you so sure its him?
KingPiccolo001 1 month ago
@KingPiccolo001 You act like I owe you something, I owe you nothing so go and bully info from someone elce or start reading DUH....with your petentious name.

@grant160619 I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I'm just asking why you speak with such certainty about a subject that can be somewhat doubtful.
KingPiccolo001 1 month ago
@grant160619 Watch medium Lisa Williams tour concerts. No trickster can carry on a charade and put up job for years without eventually being exposed. Watch her comforting a guy whose brother was murdered. She picked the guy out of an audience of 1000 & knew everthing about the circumstances of his brother's death. A con or the real deal.? You be the judge. Hence compelling evidence for the imortality of the soul & life afterdeath.
