  • Damn but this is good!! Astounding!!

  • I had heard of Joe from playing guitar for a few years, but never took the time to listen to him.

A band I auditioned for gave me a few of his songs to work on, and I'm happy they did. I LOVE the guy. His skill is impressive and his soul and energy are awe-inspiring.

  • I just watched this through completely for the third time in a row "Note to Self" pick up jaw....... "MINDBLOWING" Absolutely one of the greatest things these eyes have ever beheld in music in my short 50 years.

  • This video just drips with all of the emotion of that performance. It should be downloadable so it never gets lost. Ever. This should be the first thing aliens see when they visit earth.

  • Also, I would like to make note of this. On youtube, if you want to learn any lick from any famous player from the past to the present, there is usually a video displaying such, multiple videos at that, but when it comes to the licks of Joe Bonamassa, only a few videos can be found, and even they cannot really master a true copy of his licks. It is hard to copy his licks, they are in their own unique way, off the beaten path, of the same old 76 licks that others repeatedly play. Joe the man.

  • @moseseseseses

we know he's one of the best in the world, now quit spamming every bloody video with your paragraphs..

  • There are some performers that will move you, and some will groove you, but this boy will mesmerize you and bliss you with the blues to its hottest core. It amazes me how you never hear him miss a lick, I have never heard him fumble on the frets with any of his licks. They are all clear, and almost endless with their diversity. When you go to one of his concerts, you get your moneys worth if you go to hear a guitarist who is the best to his calling. When Clapton admires you, you have to be good.

  • He is very young here in this display of performance. Who would think , if seeing him in a mall somewhere, or walking down the street, that he could sing here like he does, and play like he does? He has a soft mellow voice when he talks, but look out when he sings. Just listen to him playing: THE THRILL IS GONE, and you can only be amazed how he can go from such soft mellow speech, to the other end of the spectrum of singing the blues with such depth and soul stirring feeling. JOE THE MAN.

  • Of all his blues rock pieces, wherein he tells the news of the blues, I will choose this blues rock piece above all the rest.It is kissing cousins to his :IF HEARTACHES WERE NICKLES.This driving display shows his vintage voice to squall the blues to such an awe inspiring depth, and also to play the blues with lightning licks that just will spell bound you.I can listen to this about all day long. I would put this diamond display up against anything from the past, up to the present. Joe the man.

  • E P I C !!!!!!!!!!!

  • So happy to have discovered JB a little over ayear ago! His live playing is consistantly outstanding, and has been for many years.Strat or Les Paul,it doesnt matter. In my humble opinion, he is truely a master of the music I have loved for over 35 years!

  • RE: Fender 'dissing'.. Joe told me in an interview, about him trying to get noticed.. And back then, on strats, he'd do the violining technique, as a little show stopper.. Ya know, for attention, as many artists fight to get! He was doing stuff like this, to STOP people comparing him to Stevie Ray, as he didn't want that shadow on him for his whole career, but people STILL thought of him as an SRV! DESPITE him playing COMPLETELY differently, so to force it out, he's now only on Gibsons.. Shame..

  • I need a "Holy Freaking Sh*t, I Love This!" button for this one :-)

  • Phenomenal! He needs to add this back into the set list, and I need a better indicator for how much I love this than just a simple "thumbs up" !

  • This is way closer toLed Zeppelin's "Since I've Been Loving You" than Lowell Fulson's 50's original, but it even tops Zepp.

  • The 3 people who disliked this video have terrets and accidentally hit dislike instead of like so lets all forgive them

  • This guy is absolutely mind fucking blowing.

  • How is it possible I've been a diehard fan for six months and I've never seen this performance before? LOVE that strat tone. Great singing. And Eric on the bass. No fan should miss this. Is there a way we can educate the other fans out there that stuff like this exists??? They're adding dozens of New Bonamassa film each week, so it's possible countless others don't even know this priceless gem exists.

  • @mydogspet yep, He really brings that pure Strat tone on!

  • @66patman The interesting thing is how he gets that tone out of a Marshall. Of course, it's not a Marshall alone. And Stevie Ray Vaughn also used one Marshall in his multiple Amp configuration. He sounds great through strats and teles, though he's known better for Gibsons.

  • Does this guy ever make a mistake?! Awesome.

  • way ta go joe!

  • this one and If Heartaches Were Nickels I can listen to over and over again, never tire of them so good!!!

  • Wow!! this is awesome! this has as much feel as a human can give?? wtf? this is over the top just drippin blues

  • Wow!! this is awesome! this has as much feel as a human can give?? wtf? this is over the op just drippin blues

  • 3 personas se cayeron de la cuna cuando eran bebés

  • OH WTF I'M CRYING

  • THIS MAN PLAY'S VERY DEEP, AND MAKES YOU FEEL EVERY NOTE HE PLAY'S AND EVERY WORD HE SINGS HE'S AWESOME

  • I've seen Joe Bonamassa four times now. I even have his autograph on my "You & Me" CD. I love this guy. When I went away to college I stopped listening to music as much but I am just getting back into the blues. This song will always be one of my favorites. The guitar is intangible. He will be remembered as one of the greats, and what he does for blues music (his blues in the schools program) is incredibly commendable. Don't ever stop doing what you do Joe! He's been talented since Bloodline!

  • Man...I miss Joe playing a Strat!!

I know he's a Les Paul guy now.

But that's only because FENDER pissed him off and dissed him real bad!

Very few people could make a Strat talk like this man!!

  • @rich655 really i didn't know fender dissed Joe, can ya tell me what happened?

  • Man this brother's music touches your soul!

  • This touches your soul... Man, amazing brother!

  • Joe my ol` china ya blow me away with ya sounds , good excuse to open another can of ale , happy times to one and all the dogs bollocks

  • Joe my ol` china ya blow me away with ya sounds , good excuse to open another can of ale , happy times to one and all

  • Now that's more like it. The drummer and bass player are in this lineup is the best. Dont like his new band. This is great!!

  • This is Blues for white guys who don't know much about Blues and are stuck in This is great stuff if what you call blues goes no further than "60's and 70's white blues rockers. As a classic rock tribute he's fantastic , as a live performer a powerful act,. I'm not actually critical ofJoe he's great but the dolts who think this is the beginning and end of the blues need to widen their listening. Check out Kid Anderson

  • He just gives you more and more and more

  • insane talent...

  • figuring this song out got some of the licks down, joe is in a class of his own

  • these three disslike voters are complete dicks...

  • someone get me a change of underwear

  • Never before... Have I been given such strong shivers down the back of my spine. Joe,, you are, and always will be my hero...

  • All words fail in describing this masterwork. Other guitarists weep in despair. Cover- shmover...... who cares who came before. This is the goods.

  • gasps and throws new guitar in the lake!

  • geil !

  • its sad he doesnt do this anymore

and i think the gold strat is dead

  • Lenny, everytime I see this performance, I just can't imagine how you and your lovely wife, parents of Joe, must feel to see their son up on stage with such awesome talent as this. Your son is not only the king of the blues, but he is King of the guitar. He can play any style of music as I've seen on these videos. I just can't fathom the joy of heart you must feel to see him up on stage with crouds ready to worship the boy. He is unsurpassable on that guitar, and a voice second to none.

  • A timeless masterpiece of blues. Even the recording, though it does not look "professional", is masterpiece in itself - it brings the "life" atmosphere much better than any other recording could do. You need not 5 cameras and expensive equipment, one cheap camera can do, if the one holding it got some idea of what a great moment he catches. What a gift to do such an unexpected wonderful take of Joe.

Reconsider Baby is my all-time favourite piece.

  • @Adlergeist AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, THIS OUTPERFORMS ANYTHING JOE BONAMASSA DID AT ALBERT HALL IN ENGLAND. THIS MASTERPIECE IS THE QUINTESSENT PINACLE OF WHO JOE BONAMASSA REALLY IS AND TALENTED HE REALLY IS. NO ONE ON THE SCENE, AS OF 2009, CAN OUT TOP THIS PERFORMANCE. SORRY FOLKS, LOOK ALL YOU WANT TO, THE BLUES FINDS ITS PINACLE POINT RIGHT HERE WITH THIS DRIVING DISPLAY.

  • feel ya brotha!

  • @Adlergeist Totally agree with this. His guitar playing speaks to me like nothing else I have ever heard.

  • Bobblues,

This is great! Man I dig that guitar work. Love the phrasing! Great work my fiend!

  • I met Joe again after this show, what a kool guy and great player!

  • Great Audio Man!!!

Sounds like a really good live Recording!

  • absolutely amazing.....

  • Here's your 100th star bobsblues!!

    Fantastic blues from Joe!!

  • it's been long since a song gives me the chills... what a soul!

  • What I would do to see this live. I love this song so much!!!! The album version never goes a day without being played on my I-pod and it never gets old. It makes me want to cry and then get up to play guitar in front of a thousand people, but I know I will never touch what Joe can do... or even get close. This might be my favorite song of all time. If anyone knows how to get a live version of this on an MP3 I'd be forever grateful.

  • Comment removed

  • google a youtube to mp3 converter... forget the name of it but one of them works well.

  • realplayer will let you download youtube videos which you can then convert to mp3. Other than that, your post is absolutely spot on! This song is epic.

  • Anyone who leaves a good comment like this about Joe is my buddy. I love Joe Bonamassa, and His mom and dad also for helping him along in his career. I'm sure they sacrificed time and dollars to help promote their son's talent. I wish so much I would have found out about him years ago. I hope his dad never lets a day go by without telling him, I love you son, your mom and me, and you sister are so proud of you. Joe blesses so many of us with his talent. God bless you Joe.

  • Genius!

Just learning Black Night off the Sloe Gin album for a Joe Bonamassa video lesson. Wanted to a video of one of his songs for ages.... Just trying to get anywhere near his 'touch' is proving near impossible!

Truly great stuff... Possibly the best guitarist of this generation!

  • First of all-thanks to Bobblues for posting this video. Wow-amazing-insane all come to mind...or just pure, unmitigated genius....have seen him twice....fantastic performer..imho..best young, blues guitarist out there

  • Amazing

  • godly solo

  • Ive seen him probably 20 times...and i have to say he never lets me down...even when it was pouring down rain in Dayton Ohio....he still played until the police said that it wasnt safe to play....

One of...if not the best i have ever seen preform...Soon to be a legend if he isnt already

  • He is already

  • hey bud i live in dayton and went to his guitar clinic at hauer music. i also went to the bloodline show at mcgufies AWESOME !!!!!!!

im goin to indianappolis 2 see him this fall!!!

    sorry bad speller lol

  • HE SHOULD USE IT MORE OFTEN

  • LIKE THE GOLDSTRAT

  • IT SURE IS ADDICTIVE

  • There's loads of great guitarists and artists out there.....and then there's Joe!

    He's in another flippin dimension.

  • Live video's of great guitar players would be so much better without those people in the audience who orgasmicly shout "WOOOHOOO YEEEAAAAH!!" after every note.

  • This guy is truly insane. Greatest vibrato... ever?

  • Waaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :$

  • EXCELENT PERFORMANCE!

  • THIS IS SICCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK

  • ..Joe rules!

  • ... d.d'

  • LOVE IT!!

  • THIS SONG IS ADDICTIVE

  • Brother you are so right about this song being addictive. I wish I had 1 dollar bill for everytime I have listened to it, and will yet listen to it. I'm so glad for youtube because it was by way and means of youtube I found out about Joe. I look at every video I can on him to learn about him and his career from a youth until now, and the more I learn about him, the more I'm amazed. One leading edge he has on so many others is that he can both sing, as well as play the blues. WHAT A VOICE.WOW

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • the best rendition of this old blues in my opinion

  • Se la bailare, al amor

de mi vida... c/ todo el amor del MUNDO.

    TE AMO CHRIS!

  • I was fortunate enough to see Joe Bonamassa in Carbondale Illinois a few weeks back, and he kicked ass! It was fucking great!

  • If you dont like it, you're not a humanbeing!!!

  • Who can play better than Joe B.?

  • @arek1212

    gary moore, by far.

  • Man this guy is amazing!! I didn't know who he was till today. I was watching Clapton's version and saw someone who said go check this out!! I'm glad I did. I'm gonna start getting into his music and TRY to learn them on guitar!! He's really good.

  • Oh my friend, you just don't realize the delights that you are in for. I just found out about him too, just weeks ago, and he has blown my mind away till I can't even find the pieces. His whole story is so heart touching. To see him up on stage so young, and practicing in his basement as a young child. And to hear the first lick he ever played at grammar school before his class, I'm just at a loss for words. I never knew I would ever find a blues guitarist like him that can sing great also

  • CANT STOP WATCHING THIS

  • I remember I first heard him with the band bloodline. Awesome stuff!!!

  • this is the best blue musician ! and my favorite version of this song. Please Joe come to France !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You are right on it brother. Joe is the best. I , from a young age, heard the blues greats, and none tops Joe. And what makes him so great also, is his cool laid back niceness he shows to people. He is humble , and a lot of guitarist that would have his talents would find that quality hard to come by. Joe is truly the man. He makes my day complete when I come in from the shop and I get to go on youtube and put my plugs in my ears, and just dream away with his perfomances. Thanks Joe.

  • TOTALLY SICK

  • He changed my guitar world!! So much feelin....damn!!!!!!!

  • O MY GOD!!!!!!!!! Out of this world! My fav singer by far!!

  • This song just creates such a mood!

  • I never get tired of watching this video. I saw Joe play this song live on two different occasions and it literally sent chills down my back. I love all of Joe's music, but if I could pick one song to be on his setlist, it would be this one.

  • 50th rating 5 stars!!

    end of story.

  • best blues musician currently in the world in my eyes. absolutely brilliant!

  • man i love this song!! has anyone got him doing colour and the shape? its one of my favs after this. thanks for the post cheers!

  • Does anyone have any live audio of this song, whether it be this performance or another? I'd love to get a copy of a live performance of Reconsider Baby.

  • sounds like one of zeppelin's song...its good though

  • I think its a Freddie King tune but i might be wrong it might be older than him
