I love both Kreator and Slayer. Watched em both live. Slayer's new albums are stale, stuck in the same stuff, no evolution, so if you like only old school, it's for you. Kreator, on the other hand evolve with each album and I'm glad they experimented with Renewal, Cause for Conflict, Outcast and Endorama. Really Underrated albums there. On stage, Slayer are fuckin' snob and I wish I could punch Kerry King in the face. That being said, I love both bands.

@demollyon 'Hordes of Chaos' are way more old-school than the last ten years of Slayer-albums. Slayer flirt with nu metal which really disappoints me. The upcoming Kreator album 'Phantom Antichrist' looks to be even more old-school.

@demollyon Their melodies are better than anything I ever heard from Gothenburg. The music and lyrics are more mature because the band is more mature now. They are also more technical than they used to be. But I think the last album is the most aggressive they ever made.

@Clonker94 Um... Kreator has a ton of fast songs? They just also have more slow melodic songs than Slayer. Both bands have been up past 200... overall both have done that more than a lot of thrash bands out there... I feel like you need to dive deeper into Kreator's discography before making such claims.

I like both! but... (me = old hardcore Slayer fan, sometimes listen to Kreator) Have to say: I sometimes criticise kreator for acting a bit "copycatish" - in this song, for instance, i hear "metallica - one" during the chorus and some "slayer sounding" stuff at the end.

@anvb5a1 The chorus doesn't have the same chords, rythm, intonation....anything in common with 'One'. And the ending is just aggressive thrash much like Slayer or.....KREATOR. Kreator were developing the thrash genre just like Metallica and Slayer and were more aggressive than any of them.

While it would continue on, it would hardly go on unnoticed. Kreator is one of the most influential thrash bands out there. Along with Sodom and Destruction, they influenced a distinctly German/European sound that continues on. Without Kreator, we wouldn't have a number of great bands.

If your going to talk about intensity. you've got to mention Dark Angel no thrash metal band has ever been that intense with exception of maybe Testament with Lombardo. but i agree Slayer especially on Reign in Blood is incredibly intense. As is Kreator here. This is probably one of my favorite thrash albums.
