  • I can't belive that witing MY memorable life there hase been disgriminatory laws? Why is it that gay people are always last to be served by socioty? It seems that the rights of gay people are always last on the to do list. As a good example, DADT was only repeald 2 months ago.

  • GREAT YOU CAN BE GAY AND KILL PEOPLE OPENLY.

  • yeah great gay people in the army and please dont remember were busy killing men women and little kids around the world, destroying lives so the rich can get richer.

But oh no lets have moral debate about gay people in the army.

  • @redalertking Not everyone's in a combat role.

  • @redalertking Yes, but you pronualty would not be saying the same if this were a debate about sexiam, racism or the discrimination of disabled people. Any time a woman, MBE, disabled person or someone of a religion is percicuted, people are so disgusted. Yet when it comes to gay people being discriminated against, people don't give a damn and even get angry someone even dares confrot the issue.

  • @meatisdeliciouse I also find it weird that religious beliefs, which are without question a choice, are held in higher regards than those who are "queer". They may not know the exact origins, but they have proven several ways that there are "physical differences" between those who are straight and those who are "queer", clearly proving it is not a choice.

  • Every young LGBT person in the military here in the States should see this to see how bright the future is going to be now that DADT has been repealed.

  • if you tell them your gay will they put me in the woman ?

  • Grats to all campaigners, Britain has gotten this far no doubt partly because of unceasing effort for equality in the UK.

  • Well done, and I hope those in the US see this and see this can happen. And that the morons in their Senate see it and see it LGB people serving in the armed forces doesn't make the entire thing collapse.

So thanks for this video. And thank you for your service to our country.

  • @NethDugan DADT has been abolished, Obama has signed the bill. At last the US has taken that big step others took years ago.

  • @glamourennui In my opinion, in the US there would be a major difference between civil unions and civil marriages even if both were legally identical. We have a very dark chapter in US history which clearly points out that "separate but equal" is never equal. But each culture is different.

  • Thank goodness for the British and the Western Europeans! They are 100 light years ahead of the us in both civil rights and human rights. Show us how ir's done!

  • What a great video. And congrats on your civil partnership.

  • Thank you so much James. I really appreciate you speaking up. It is inspiring, and hopeful indeed! - Alison.

  • This video just became my 100th Favorited Video, which makes me especially proud to share it on all the social networking services.

  • terrific young man...people like him change the world for the better.

  • Excellent message James, which I'm sure will be an inspiration to some hurting kids, thanks for posting this.

  • We think its really important that you made this video "if the army can do it you can do it too" is an inspied moto I will quote to my students - Thanks

  • you are beautiful.

  • Well said. I hope we catch up one day!

  • Hmmm truth not open for an audience today

  • It's not gay! It's queer ... It is what it is....For a good tree bringeth forth Not currupt fruit .! Every tree is known buy its fruit ...So as well is a man!

Judge not the man ..!... Judge therefor> the Fruit.....! I do not presume to be a judge for truly how can one say..? But there is a judge and he has already ruled...Be not deceived what ever you sow you will reap!!

  • @dmhappy2777 You are absolutely right! That is proof that LGBTQA people are not the abomination that so many claim they are. I can't even imagine what the world would be like without all of the contributions LGBTQA people have added to it. Our Creator's judgment is decided on the basis of our fruit (e.g. what we do for others), not on the basis of who we are (e.g. LGBTQA).

  • Beautiful video, thank you for the inspirational message. This will help many young GLBT people. You have my admiration!

  • God on you James, really inspiring stuff. Can't believe the States are actually debating allowing openly gay people in the military, perhaps of they open they're eyes a bit and look at the rest of the world they can see that gay people aren't that different they straight people. Great stuff!

  • Thanks James for being a wonderful ambassador for Stonewall and the British Army, it is quite remarkable how much has changed from when I left the Army in 1995! May the good work continue:-)

  • Absolutely love love love Mr McCaffrey-Wharton! Love your work and dedication James x

  • why cant America get its act together like You all did have i have deepest respect for You

  • Great video, thanks James. :-)

  • Thanks for this great statement.

I still find it disconcerting that the British military can recruit 15 year old kids and that "Stonewall" thinks separate unions are equal.

  • wow great video thanks for making this

  • Well done James, well done Stonewall and well done the British Armed Services
