@Aacire, (SPOILER ALERT!) do you know that they eventually did bring Iolaus back at the end of this season? In the episode where the Archangel Michael comes to destroy the world. So all is not lost. :) Between the show and the movies, Iolaus has died a total of four times but always came back. We should all have so many lives. Lol. I remember Michael Hurst saying that he just loves doing death scenes, so Iolaus must have been the dream character for him.

Throughout the series, we see that many of those whom Hercules respected/admired/trusted eventually fell prey to moral weakness.

Lucy Lawless aka Xena was the apple of David's eye. I would have never had the pleasure of meeting her without him. His love for her was great but I now question his integrity. I understand trying to toughen us up but Uma & I had plenty of emotional pain. Psychologically destroying our relationship was traumatic. You put your confidence in your Master & when you bond its a devestating thing to have him destroy it vindictively taking away the trust & loyalty.
Uma & I had great respect for David. I don't know what made him him deviate from being a great male mentor into a twisted psychological/emotional abuser of us both. Love this show I have been watching it everyday on netflix I just made it to season 5. I think that is the time we weren't allowed to watch it because our parents were against spiritualism. However after seeing part of season five i was disappointed to see how hard the show tried to incorporate special effects. It really killed the quality for me. The first seasons were great the fight scenes were more believable and entertaining then the cheap cinematography they have on season 5.
kevin sorbo is probably the best actor of all time, followed up by kevin smith,richard dean anderson, and that guy who did aragorn in LOTR, then bruce campell...im missing someone...oh yes christopher lambert cant forget him.
His death was the end of the series for me. It was never the same again. Even after they brought him back since it wasn't technically the same friend.
@jakedizzle I was just about to post the same sentiment. Iolaus and Hercules' friendship was fun and humor filled... but it was also the 'heart' of the show.
@TheNewRiflemanBob I think Hercules went to another dimension and met a different Iolaus. I think it was after he became a god. It's been awhile. Everything was the same, but it wasn't the Iolaus that went through trials and tribulations with Hercules. Since we went on that journey it felt different. It's Iolaus but it's not the same.
@jakedizzle Actually if you watched Revelations, it is the same Iolaus. But I remember Iolaus 2, he was from another dimension and was more of a court jester. He tried too live up too the original Iolaus, but he wasn't a fighter. He fell in love with a mermaid.
I was also upset for the fact that now everyone can do things that hercules can. Like jump super far and high, and punch people across the room. It was like suddenly everyone has powers now.
I will continue to watch the rest of my favorite show, but now I can see why it got cancelled, it just became to fake with the effects, and the stories lacked its captivating scripts like the early seasons.
The worst thing i can say is when hercules gets super speed the show takes a downfall in quality.
You know what it does not matter about Candyman !!!!!!!!!! Same Actor but different story !!!!!!!!!!! The same guy was in Final Destination he was a sick Character in that Movie also!!!!!!!!!!! At least This was good Vs Evil! The good always prevail!

on a side note this episode and the one after it and the xena adventures in sin trade two parter cause me to be scared of chucky the doll for years for i saw a bride of chucky promo during these episodes when they first aired and i was already shaken by the episode so the promo instead of making me laugh which chucky is sort of now i had an irrotinal fear of him for nearly four years.

i cried when they killed him off. I was in lust with him. was not all that into hercules and didn't see him as a sex symble like most women. it was always his side kick with me. he was more smarter and such and that hair....i miss him.

I definately need to know more background on this Gilglamesh fellow. He is just evil. They think my possible matriarch Medusa is evil? Earlier in this episode, we see that Sumeria is suffering from terrible calamity. While Gilgamesh may have originally meant well for his people, he (to mix our metaphors) turned to the dark side and made a deal with the devil (Dahak). Throughout the series, we see that many of those whom Hercules respected/admired/trusted eventually fell prey to moral weakness.

Lucy Lawless aka Xena was the apple of David's eye. I would have never had the pleasure of meeting her without him. His love for her was great but I now question his integrity. I understand trying to toughen us up but Uma & I had plenty of emotional pain. Psychologically destroying our relationship was traumatic. You put your confidence in your Master & when you bond its a devestating thing to have him destroy it vindictively taking away the trust & loyalty.

Uma & I had great respect for David. I don't know what made him him deviate from being a great male mentor into a twisted psychological/emotional abuser of us both. We had both endured so much it was unnecessary torture. He did the very same thing to Sofie, he played all against one another. It was sick actually, I still don't comprehend.....

I had such respect for David C. but he betrayed that bond & messed with my head. I want to remember the good & forget, its sad to lose him but its self preservation & I want to remember him the way I adored him not the thing he became. He introduced me to yet a better Master of sword that one was verbally abusive but never betrayed confidence.

Love this show I have been watching it everyday on netflix I just made it to season 5. I think that is the time we weren't allowed to watch it because our parents were against spiritualism. However after seeing part of season five i was disappointed to see how hard the show tried to incorporate special effects. It really killed the quality for me. The first seasons were great the fight scenes were more believable and entertaining then the cheap cinematography they have on season 5.

His death was the end of the series for me. It was never the same again. Even after they brought him back since it wasn't technically the same friend.

@TheNewRiflemanBob I think Hercules went to another dimension and met a different Iolaus. I think it was after he became a god. It's been awhile. Everything was the same, but it wasn't the Iolaus that went through trials and tribulations with Hercules. Since we went on that journey it felt different. It's Iolaus but it's not the same.

@jakedizzle Actually if you watched Revelations, it is the same Iolaus. But I remember Iolaus 2, he was from another dimension and was more of a court jester. He tried too live up too the original Iolaus, but he wasn't a fighter. He fell in love with a mermaid.

I was also upset for the fact that now everyone can do things that hercules can. Like jump super far and high, and punch people across the room. It was like suddenly everyone has powers now.
I will continue to watch the rest of my favorite show, but now I can see why it got cancelled, it just became to fake with the effects, and the stories lacked its captivating scripts like the early seasons.
The worst thing i can say is when hercules gets super speed the show takes a downfall in quality.
