Solved Jailbreak Ipod Touch 3G 3.1.2

I accidently fked up my itouch, its a 8gb 3gen 3.1.2 itouch. I used jailbreakme and played with some themes and such, but then I downloaded mywifi tethering thing. I didn't know what it was exactly (new to this all) and I wanted to get rid of it but when I tried to restore it itunes says im not allowed to restore it. How do I fix this?

Well if you can try this:

Turn off your ipod and hold the home button and plug it into itunes. Then itunes will ask if you want to restore it. If that doesn't work then you can put it in DFU mode.

Dude you don't need to go in to dfu mode it jailbreaks anyway if you get that message. I thought you where going to show people how to get unteathered jailbreak for the 3g but I guess that isn't possible right now and the best we can get is the semi teathered

for some people it doesn't automatically reboot.

well try holding the home and power button a bit longer. and if that doesn't work this I would highly recommend you find a video on youtube or make a video that shows your problem.

ok i have the ipod touch 3g 8gigs same as you ans i tried to jailbreak it and it says connect to itunes then goes black the i waited and did it the next day restored it then did it and the geo guy popped up and then the lil wheel spun and was working just fine then black screen then next day did the same thing but i did the the thing you did and it said connect to itunes plz help snd a message on my channel please i really want a jailbroken ipod please i subscribed and rated 5 stars please

ok so if you tried my method I would highly recommend you to either find a video on youtube that has your problem or if you can make a video of you jailbreaking your ipod, cause then I will be able to see if your doing anything wrong :)

guys if you have that one restore problem its easy if it says restore and if it shows that once itunes connection sign just exit blackra1n and start it again worked for me!!

I tired to jailbreak again but the dudes face didn't even pop up it said connect to iTunes then it went black ?? But I didn't have to restore it it worked just like before I jailbroken it but it wasn't jailbroken :( I can't do it plz help

um try restoring it and then download black ra1n again, and then try and jailbreak again. And if the problem continues you can make a video showing me your problem.

I have the 2G ipod touch with 3.0 so I used Redsn0w to jailbreak mine, my friend on the other hand has a 3g and he also got the black screen

I'm a litlle confused I have the iPod touch 3rd gen 8gb which when u jailbreak u get that fuckin black screen so I'll do wat u said to hold the home and power button . And jailbreak. but if I install installous an if it has to reboot I will plug it in and use blackra1n but will it work smoothly or will it give me a black screen again and will I have to hold the two buttons again ???????? um well I don't think you have to reboot when you install installous and if it does reboot for some strange reason try jailbreaking it without holding the buttons and if it doesn't work then you can hold the buttons.

cydia doesn't let you do anything while it updates, rock does.

and read the description for rock and cydia in the blackra1n app. Geohot seems to agree that rock is better.

honestly I don't give a crap what Geohot thinks (not trying to be mean). But people have their opinions and I personally prefer cydia over rock the reason being that I'm more comfortable with cydia. And as long as I can get free apps, movies, music then I'm sticking with cydia, have a nice day :)

I have a 3g. And everytime I goto reboot it tells me to plug it in and open up iTunes. But it won't let me do anything on iTunes unless I restore..

can u unjailbreak ur ipod? and if u can will all your apps u got thro cydia stay on ur ipod?

you can unjailbreak ur ipod but you will lose everything included apps downloaded by using installous and apps that you got from cydia

when the guys face pops up or when you see the message "done, wait for reboot" hold the home and power button until the apple logo appears.

@CheapestComedians:it appears alot of the time, when it does appear, it goes through everything, and then it reboots to the connect your ipod to itunes screen i re-run black rain to get it back to the home creen, and it works, but the problem im really having is when i download a theme or when i downloaded winter board, it says to reboot, i do, then it just stays at the connect ipod to itunes screen. i try to run blackrain to get it out of recovery, but it just stays at the screen, any ideas?

Well you can jailbreak again but this time don't use anything themes because whenever you reboot your gonna have to connect to computer, I know you probably want themes but it's best if you just wait for the untethered version and just use this jailbreak to download apps and music and movies

somehow my friend with an upod touch 3g jailbroke his with finalsn0w and it was untethered but it downgraded him to 2.2.1 and so he used blackra1n and its still untethered. idk how tho :-p

srry I didn't get to this comment lol but like I said in my video once you get to the image of the guy and it gets brighter, you hold the home button and the sleep button until the apple logo pops out
