i dont think u can hit 100yrds with it but also i think even a begginer should get it aslong as he can break the barrel i think in my oppinion that all bb/pellet guns are for beginners cause they dont reach very far and they have no kick and then when u get good and want to start hunting get a 22lr or bigger cause if a bigginer gets a 22lr and shoots in a bad derection they can reach half a mile were a pellet gun starts dropping after about 50yrd
@hunting2748 If you are anywhere near a decent shot, you can adjust for bullet drop. Especially once you get used to the feel of the rifle. Not all pellet guns are for beginners. BB guns, maybe. But there is a difference. This is strictly pellets only; no BB's. It is weighted to feel just like a .22 Long, so a new shooter may have some difficulty wielding it. And I don't think anybody with that literacy would know what he's talking about anyway.
@windrac actully my pellet gun ways more then my 22 and how could i not know what im talking about i was saying my opinion also u may be able to adjust for bullet drop but at 100yrds ur not going to do to much damage were a 22 will still do alot of damage. and i know it just shoots pellets i was saying bb/pellet meaning either gun i have almost the same gun i have the crossman phantom also how does literacy have anything to with me knowing about guns.
I don't really think there is such thing as a 'begginners' gun when it comes to this stuff. This was my first air rifle (after the red ryder but that sucked..) and i was good with it. i still use it to hunt small game here and there.
bought this exact gun, not the kit version you were speaking of, and i noticed that the stop pin on the scope mounts was not ajustable (couldnt screw it down). was yours the same way?
im getting one this tuesday coming up i really like your video it helped me alot my moms says im ghetto when i put a gun in my hands its true because yesterday i used oen for the very first time n shoot it right off da gate
@ww298kscope Well... I've gotten better since then. I have a Savage Mark II GXP .22 rifle now, and i go through about 500 rounds a month. I now either sit and use a barrel rest, or stand and use a sling to help steady it.
@windrac yes thats nice, you had the classic beginner stance then (leaning upperbody back)...i have a few pellet guns from my dad a long time ago but do you need to have a rifle/gun liscence to buy this online or anywhere?
The clear side is for putting on the side you look through the green one is suppose to hang down they have it clear so if you want it to stay on when you shot it
both kinds of g1 shoot the same velocity....all standard break barrels shoot 1200 fps, stated on the box or not. your model says 1200 because crosman just came out with alloy pellets that are lighter than lead and shoot at 1200. lead shoots 1000 fps
@chriscf10 yes, i know it can shoot 100 yards. plus, I was just reading the box. I dont have a device that measures speed that would work with this application.
The yellow-green scope cover is for low light shooting. It actually helps quite a bit. I bought one of these the other day and I am impressed too. I use lead pellets just because they seem to be quieter. I however am not a fan of the scope. If anyone has upgraded theirs and found a great replacement scope please lemme know what kind.
Its called a "break barrel" loader. It only holds one shot at a time. Watch at 6:20 and you see me 'break' the barrel. You then place a pellet, as at 6:29, into the barrel. Then, you are ready to fire, after you close the 'break' ( 6:35 ).
I wanna get this gun but i live in a suburban place you think it will be loud enough for the neighbors to be freaked out? also can you teach me how to clean the oil out of the gun? Great vid Thanks
I am not gunna get a daisy grizzly lol, I need power, beginner or not, I can adjust fast lol, I've been shooting a lot of guns before, and I can adjust to them fast, breaking the barrel is easy for me :P, I just have to practice, practice makes perfect :P
well, I use led pointed pellets and it works good for me. But what makes mine quieter is: if you open the chamber and wipe MOST (not all) of the oil off of the place where you put in the pellet, especially on that rubber ring. If that doesnt help, post back.
Hi i just bought mine today but somehow i can't break the barrel i try many ways to try to cock it but i just cant lol is there a way to make it break easier ?
can you break it open at all? even with a lot of effort? If so, just open and close it over and over and over and over and over and over... it should eventually free up. If you cant open it at all, return it and get another one.
huh... must be the economy or something. Anyway, I bought a Gamo variety pack of pellets. it has high-mushroom (pointed tip, hollow), high penetration (pointed tip, solid), high speed (flat tip), and all-purpose (ball tip). I found that the G1 Extreme likes the flat tip the best.
@windrac Just so you know, the kit comes with the same weapon. What you are confusing is the velocity with the different pellets. The "performance ballistic alloy" pellets are able to reach a velocity of 1200 fps and make a ballistic crack that sounds like .22 rifle. Regular lead ammo (which you shoot in the video) travels at 100 fps and does not break the sound barrier, therefor no crack, but both the kit and the standalone are the same weapons.
lol, well, the first half of the video (the one where the gun's on my bed) is Saturday night, and the shooting in Sunday morning, just before church. and thanks!
u just get home from church or something... lol nice vid dude i got this rifle too and it is a beast and i think im going to get another rifle its a drozed fully automatic i just am gettin tired of my g1 so much power but only one shot startin to get sucky you will see..
It is a very nice accurate gun! Im shooting about 75 yards hitting a 3 inch target non stop. A telescope tripod is an awesome addon I have. I just bought this 5 days ago. Isnt it weird how this gun is different than the other g1? Im still taking it back just to keep testing guns to see what one is the best they sell and buy it back. They have a few more 1200fps guns to choose from.
the green scope cover is so if the sun is shining in the scope u can still see like putting on sunglasses

actually, the speeds are the same, one version shows the **velocity with lead, the other version shows the **velocity with alloy pellets
**what the manufacturer says the velocity is, this rifle (with 7.9gr pellets) gets between 820 and 910fps chronoed
