I've always said that "The Mollusk" is right up there with "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band".

In fact, if you took some of Ween's discography, put it on a CD and slapped "The Beatles" (or another famous bandname) on the front cover then people would see Ween's music in a far more favorable and respected light. Ween have been making music for 2 decades and their "worst" album is still well above-average. How many other bands that have been around for 2 decades can you say that about?

My mom hated this song until I told her what it really meant, or at least how I see it.

He talks about someone being nothing but an object to him. At first, it sounds as if though he's degrading women by calling them objects. Until you hear the final verse, where he says that he feels better because they found her sweater.

To me, this states that to cope with the loss of a loved one, he reduces her memory to that of an object; in this case, her sweater.
