@seansimpsizzle samael were originally a full black metal band that started as a two piece in the mid to late 80s. over their 9 full length albums they have progressed into what most ppl would call an industrial metal band but are still heavy as fuck with black metal elements. if u listen to their albums in order u can hear the amazing transformation of this band who are now a 4 piece and use a drum machine instead of a drummer. albums to check out are 'passage' 'ceremony of opposites' 'eternal'

samael didnt just try the industrial stuff then go back to black metal, they are industrial (personally i wouldnt categorize them as any style but this would be the closest genre for their music i guess). the album 'above' which this song is from is a tribute to their black metal roots and isnt the way samael is heading they will be continuing with their progressive style, which is awesome (my opinion) and keeps u guessing as to what their next album will sound like!

love the live performance concept of the video, but the frame meant to give it a 16 mm film feel could've really been done without. otherwise, i even enjoy the heavy visual effects and rapid transitions here with this song, where i might absolutely hate it for any other band. even the inclusion of all the graphics was tasteful. as for the sound, i love how samael is always evolving and pushing the boundaries of industrial/electronic metal while maintaining that black feeling from their roots.

As for me, I think it completely suits to Above album - like this album is a some kind of tribute to "early-years" Samael music, so clip is at the same style - mix from live gigs, in black-white gamma, like the first Samael' clip, "Baphomet's Throne".
