@plyalex APIs are by nature invisible software. Without the bukkit API layer betwen the plugin and the Minecraft server software, the plugins are just letters in a text editor.  plugins show the flexibility and power executed through the possibilities the API affords.

What kind of computer is this guy using?! I was thinking of getting VoxelSniper to end the nagging of my server's residents, but I'm pretty sure my computer would explode if I try updating that many blocks at once...

@ShadowRaptor1O1 If you run a big server this is a griefers holy grail. Its meant mostly for trusted members of your server. Personally I only allow admins on my server to use it. Its not logged by plugin like logblock so if somebody decides to submerge the world in lava you wont know who did it. The voxelbox put it best. "VoxelSniper should be treated as a loaded gun".

@naronarog I run a farily large server (compared to all my other friend's servers) about 25 people have been on it, which is big for me lol :P

Anyways, all I know about Server's are you run the jar and the server works...

I haven't the slightest clue on how to install plugins (nor do I know much about them) or things like this. I've had alot of requests tp get this "VoxelSniper" and this other program that allows you to make an alternate map. It seems like it'd be very useful but, idk :/

no no no bukket isn't what made all this possible it simply was the only tool available to include other features the voxel box wanted for there servers, all these plug-in were made by Voxel Box and them ported into bukket since that's what there sever is using to do manage there worlds, players and so on

I think the Black Ops famas is too power for it's rate of fire and lack of recoil, but I know that if they nerfed it, it will be as useless as the Model 1887 shotguns from MW2 after they tried to balance them. I'm just saying that people ALWAYS complain about the guns whether they are nerfed too little or too much.

The point I was trying to make was that the presentation was given extremely poorly, and dismissing an individual's critiques based on the possible fact that they could do no better is a terrible method of going about things and in no way justifies the subpar quality of the presentation. Sure, perhaps I myself would have done just as badly. Does that suddenly mean that the guy didn't do a poor job?

I have used bukkit before and for me is kind a pointless because you need to convert good mods like IC or BC to bukkit to make it work there is IC but very unstable. The plugins only work with stuffs that is already exist on game nothing new at all.

@przerwap To be fair, features in VoxelSniper kind of just suddenly appeared in VoxelSniper after I told you it existed in WorldEdit (which you acted like a total ass when I told you). I had the idea for brushes way before you, but I made WorldEdit at a time when there wasn't code for doing ray collision and I got caught up with other things. Animating blocks on the server is also definitely really old news -- CraftBook, which invented MP game mechanics, did this an entire year ago with hMod.

I don't know why Seph picked my plugins, I didn't ask him to do so! But I believe that he picked them because they represent the possibilities provided by the API. I don't know if you realize this but is it difficult as hell to present an API without examples of something that USES THE API.

Why Did they use only voxel plugins? they are great and all but there are plenty of other plugins such as towny, world guard, Craftbook, iconomy,and a few hundred other plugins that add a lot more to the game for teh user not just admins. honestly they could have just tooken out the voxel sniper part and replaced it with all of thoose plugins i mentioned and got much more across in that time but i guess thay know what they are doing??

@DagamonEx Agreed, we at TVB use more plugins than our own! some plugins don't have especially well-demonstrated videos that can be boiled down in a 15 second clip. also, in order to use videos for this panel, the team had to get permission which takes time. we were very happy to lend our videos to the bukkit team to help demonstrate the possibilities of their software, and were able to arrange it in time for minecon. i wouldn't read into it any more than that.

@octobre79 The Problem i have with it though is that yeah i enjoy all of your guys plugins as well. they are pretty much all worth displaying (plus for an audience they are more entertaining i suppose) But it couldnt have hurt to at least describe some of thoose plugins i mean really it wouldnt be that hard. Iconomy lets u use money, towny lets you Create Customized towns, Everyone who has ever heard of bukkit knows what World guard W/E are, and Craftbook add's Mechanics. lol just did it
