  • So... what, the game director behind The Last Guardian used this theme song of all things? It suits the game very well, but... I don't know it's just surprising lol.

  • I ain't here for no PS3 game, I'm here because this is an incredible movie.

  • Dnload the audio from this tune at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • What is the name of this song? Who performed it/orchestrated it, wrote it, and coonducted it?

  • @mrright564 Carter Burwell!

  • @mrright564 Me, my name is Herm Jinglestrapps Anti-cliver so n o fan mail please.

  • @mrright564 It's a Lament for Limerick...the Cheiftans so a great job on one of their albums "A Celtic Harp"

  • @mrright564 It's an old Irish tune called Limerick's Lament. The lament is for the loss of the Jacobite Cause in 17th century.

  • @mrright564 I know this comment is a year old but for anyone else who is interested this theme is a traditional Irish piece called Lament For Limerick or Limerick's Lamentation. Burwell built his score around it the same way he built his score around it the same way he used traditional hymns in True Grit. Apparently Gabriel Byrne suggested it to him.

  • Youse all a buncha fancy pants!

  • I am not sure which music I like better. Millers Crossing or In Bruges.

  • "It's the kissoff! If I never see him again it'll be soon enough!"

Very nice slide compilation. Nice work.

I could play the opening and closing themes over and over and never get tired of it. I bought the movie a few weeks ago, now I'm trying to find the soundtrack. Love it!

  • Project Trico aka The Last Guardian FTW;D

  • TLG FTW. 2010. CANT WAIT : 3

  • Fuck yeah!

  • "come on tommy you know i dont like to think!"

"well maybe you should think about startin"

  • sue the coen brothers and let me know how you did with that

  • i dont think enough of you saw this film to appreciate the music, and the credits were given at the end of the film.

  • No, don't mind giving TomServo200X thumbs down because he is actually right. This piece of music is a traditional slow air called Limerick's Lamentation and because Irish trad music isn't copyrighted it was ripped off by Hollywood.

  • but off course noone would know or recognise it had it not been featured in the film. You'd think the irish would be grateful.

  • Well, think of it from another perspectiive. Think that you grew up in a community (of thousands) playing and listening to a certain type of music and then you hear it, & it isnt given its proper credit. That's all. Maybe yes, it reached a wider audience, but at the same time, when it the music isn't given it's dues, one can't help but feel a little bitter for its sake,

  • shut up

  • Limerick's Lamentation isn't quite the same, but this theme is very similar.

  • either way, this is better than any version of LL that I've ever heard.

  • great music great movie

  • Thumb me up if The Last Guardian(Trico) PS3 brought you hear.

  • hahaha, yea!

Thx to Wiki, otherwise i wouldn't know that this song was actually from this old movie... and would be googling forever!!!

  • This is somehow one of the saddest scores I have ever heard.

  • This is the Millers crossing movie theme, finale.

    Project trico is a copy.

ill always remember this as millers crossing

  • This is an adaptation of an irisch folk song called "Lament for Limerik" so this theme is also a copy.

  • its off millers crossing soundtrack, the movie was first to use it, thts wht my point is.

  • Is Irchland a European country?

  • Gret music.

  • Dammit, I meant GREAT music.

  • Wow, i just realized that The Last Guardian used this theme... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Project Trico in everyones heart 4ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is Project Trico even real?

Last I heard it was fan made

...Well, if it's fan made, someone has a just got a job

  • Of course it's real. You heard wrong.

    Also, go watch this film.

  • I've seen this film about ten times, its one of my favorites

  • Good to hear!

  • It's real now. spam;

  • Love the piece, I'm disappointed however that it won't likely be in the game itself :(...

  • Why? Don't you want a beautiful original game to have a beautiful original soundtrack?

  • I'm sure the OST of Trico will be very impressive as well. But I'd have appreciated it, if this particular piece had been in it, too. :D

It seemed very fitting to me.

  • What game?

  • Trico. A recent trailer uses this particular song, but it won't likely be found there in the end.

  • Project TRICO

  • Project Trico FTW!!! :D

  • TRICO.

  • texttihng, it is an absolutlly beautiful arrarangemt of a wonderful irish song, what is your problem?

  • What's the song called?

  • Lament for Limerick

  • Thanks!

  • great movie and great song too

  • I'd encourage anyone interested to seek out the CD of the concert. The rendition of that piece in particular is a truly awesome bit of ensemble playing.

  • There was an awesome re-take of this score done by Celtic Fayre on a Chillout Classics CD. Absolutely stunning music!

  • i agree with vinny... it is amazing song... but it seems to have nothing to do with the film...in another picture it could be even more moving

  • ez mekkora zene és mennyire jó

  • This is such an amazing score and really is beautiful. I have to agree though that it probally does go better with shawshank redemption, but i guess i'm only saying that because its my favourite film. But wow, excellent score, amamzing film :)

  • I really love this score, but in my opinion it does not go with the movie very well. The score has a very hopeful and inspiring touch to it that the movie (which is still very good) lacks.

  • Yeah, you're right.

  • WHAT?

  • It has a poor Irish immigrant, turn of the 20th century sound to it. Of course now, the Irish are very wealthy and industrious.

  • this is an amazing score. goes so well with this incredible movie....and yah, shawshank had it in its trailer tooo

  • Katherine Hepburn is an oscar magnet

  • sorry that was kind of random, i was trying to try out the audio preview and accidently posted this.

  • I think this music was used in the trailer The Shawshank Redemption

  • It was, they stole it from this movie.

Shawshank Redemption is one of the greatest films ever made tho'.

  • miller crossing was released in Oct 1990 and shawshank was released in Sept 1994! what the hell are you talking about? do your homework before commenting.

  • great theme

  • Absolutley stunning. The rise and fall of the music is sublime, the film is also truly brilliant.

  • it gives me goosebumps its so beautiful.

  • This has got to be one of the best gangter movies ive ever seen. it is fantastic in every way. long live the Coens.

  • The Coens are my favourite directors alongside with Scorsese, Leone and Tarantino!

  • wow, those are pretty much my favorite directors too (including the coen brothers of course). cool.

  • Marcia Gay Harden was soo hot in this movie!

  • Thank you :)

  • This song is one of the best, thanks for sharing!

  • This has got to be one of the greatest music scores for film ever. Millers Crossing is a classic film!

  • I was going to say something to the same affect but why bother, you have said it perfectly.

  • I thing the greatest I ve ever heard in film and it is one of the best films for me too...

  • This must be some of the most beautiful music ever written for the screen
