1917: the Communists seize power in Russia
During ww2: Kim Il Sung joins the Red Army far eastern division
1945: the Soviet army occupies the northern half of Korea and installs Kim Il Sung as dictator, even though most Koreans oppose him
2011: the north is still oppressed by a dictatorship, Korea is still divided

Yet now there is custom union between Russia+Kazakstan+Belorus those country together represent at least 85 percents of territory. So Union will be back, agreement about customs union signed and ratified yet.
Also just small notice former anthem of Russia it is the same that one of USSR so bit by bit Union seems is coming back.

Although the Soviet Union was not trully communist either, it did not allow for the attrocities under the Tsarist rule to occur. Altough what has happened in North Korea is an unfortunate byproduct of the Russian Civil War, it is no reason to wish the same unfortunate fate against the people of Russia.

Koreans learned from the russians. I think best socialist the world has ever seen was Ulyanov. He moved his russians like some chess pieces around like a profesional chess player with such elegance. Lenin was in no way a russian nationalists. Whites might have slowed expansion but even without the civil war Lenin would have let Poland, Baltic countries and Finland have their freedom.
